Dashed hopes and rude encounters on a late night trip to Native roots.. a story. So there you are, it's 8:35 and you're just getting off a longgg day of work and nothing would hit the spot quite like a couple puffs of that sweet sweet indica. But alas, the pit in your stomach opens up, as You remember that you're out of weed. A quick google shows that Native Roots is open until 9! Elation. GPS says you'll arrive right at 9 so you Run to the car and peel out of the corporate parking lot like you stole the company archives. Time becomes as blurry as the I-70 65mph signs as you channel your inner Ricky Bobby. The smell of burning breaks permeates the native roots parking lot air as you hop out with an ecstatic whoop. The time is 8:55 and you have your order ready. 1 indica pre-roll. You know it's late and you want to respect the bud tenders time. The sign boldly lets visitors know that closing time is 9pm and the door swings open on well oiled hinges. It's like walking through the pearly gates, You've made it! As you walk up to the ID check stand a dark ominous energy approaches. An angry hobbit with a backwards hat and a full neck beard springs into view. It begins speaking "YEA YOU CANT BE HERE, WE'RE CLOSED." You wince as the harsh words cut through the sweet aroma. The words echo like the lonely howl of an abandoned wind. Shoulders slumped in defeat, the roller coaster of emotions flies off the rails and you tuck tail and head for the door. The smell of brakes and too much freshly burned gasoline are the only witnesses to the sound of your tears echoing off the pavement. As your eyes become illuminated by the dashboard lights, the bud tender pokes a key into the door. As the lock clicks in silent mockery you Vow to never set foot in a native roots again* The joke is really on the bud tender, all I had was a crispy hundo and would have tipped him faaaaat! *y'all definitely could fix this, I'm quick to forgive and believe everyone deserves second chances. I'm grateful the Vail Native Roots operation ran smoothly during the covid-19 lockdown. Knowing that you were open and fully stocked was confidently reassuring to this med patient. I was visiting the Vail area from out of town and from the highway I noticed the big back window. Inside I was surprised to see that all the counters looked clean and professional, the guy that helped me was very knowledgable, and that they had lots of strains for me to choose from. Best selection of concentrates west of Denver. I love the Lifesaver and Orange Herijuana in both flower and shatter. No better quality, service, or price in the Valley for flower or concentrates on either medical or recreational! I come in everyday because of the awesome locals discounts they give and the staff is always knowledgeable and friendly! I haven't been to many dispensaries but this one was by far the best I've seen. The staff were incredibly friendly and really helped me understand what I was looking for.
