It has been a few years since I went here, but I remember it was right when the first covid shots…read morestarted being offered to the older people because I had to wait in the waiting room with them before I had my ultrasound done. I went in because I was having major gall bladder pain (I was guessing) and had been to one of the CNPs a few years before for a work physical. After my lengthy exam (which was used as a training session for someone from SDSU) where even my ears were examined, I was told that I would need an ultrasound to see what was going on. I was also told during my exam that it might be my lungs (I am guessing that was said since I am a smoker), but that didn't fit my symptoms and also didn't sit well with me, seeming assumptive. After the $800 ultrasound that I had to pay out of pocket (over and above the rest of the fees that I had to pay) since I had no insurance, I finally called the clinic since they weren't getting ahold of me with the results. Someone (not the CNP) told me that I had some infection and that I would need to have surgery to take my gall bladder out at their affiliated Huron Regional Medical Center (the hospital). That wasn't really an option, since, like I said, I didn't have insurance. A few weeks later, I had a dentist appointment and it was found that I had a few infected teeth. The dentist prescribed antibiotics and Voilà! my pain went away. My concern is that the clinic never prescribed antibiotics even after seeing infection on the results of the ultrasound. I didn't talk to the CNP because whoever I was talking to said she was speaking for the CNP and she said that my only option was surgery (I even asked if that was my only option). $1000 later and I wasn't helped at all. I won't be returning, which is sad because healthcare in this town is extremely lacking. Many people in this town are afraid of speaking up about things like this because of the 'blacklist' effect. I am already there, obviously, so I wanted to put my experience on here and maybe warn someone else or have them think twice before choosing this clinic. Healthcare is something very personal that no one has the right to mess with and your financial status or lack of insurance should not have a bearing on the quality of care.

I have never been seen here before but recently this past week brought my newborn son here to be…read moreseen due to an involuntary medicaid pcp change. The receptionist chose to make an appointment for my son with Tia Chase. I will probably never comeback to this clinic. I was disappointed that during this covid 19 virus pandemic, that while the clinic took extra precautions to wear masks and not allow patients to sit inside the waiting room, the doctor I brought my son to see here wore a mask but no gloves and proceeded to test his sucking ability by placing her finger inside of his mouth with no gloves. Additionally, the nurse for this doctor was very unhelpful to switch the baby formula at the local wic office without a diagnosis on the script. Therefore its very unlikely I will ever comeback here with my son.

In my opinion the clinic is outdated in regards to staff, their understanding of their client's…read morehealth and their facility. The clinic itself is located downtown in a small building that is in serious need of updating in every aspect. The handicapped ramp is too steep, narrow with two doors that are hard to open. The bathrooms are small and in poor shape, same for the examining rooms. In my opinion, Dr. Weidel should be considered woefully out of date in his understanding of medical arts and not only gets his diagnosis completely wrong but then refuses to hear any other opinion, even from his fellow staff members.

It's an ancient facility. I cannot begin to count how many times I have had my blood work done…read morethere. They never tell you what you need to know before going. This was the third time I had to drive home pissed off. This time because they neglected to tell me I needed to have fasted for 8 hours prior to my lab work. Seems like something that could have been easily shared over the phone when I called the day before. I will StockHolm syndrome no more. Changing away from that 1960s flashback to something built this millennium.
