We were told, at the second visit, we need to provide our own sealer to keep water from penetrating between the new material and the original metal around the drain. I tried that but it does not last. I do not recommend this company. Although they may be able to do some jobs, they failed miserably at a bathroom sink.

Classic barn made like new…read more My wife and I purchased a home that started its life as a Clydesdale barn in 1918. It was converted to a home many years later. Before moving in we had several projects that we wanted to tackle with refinishing the original hardwood floors being a big one. I've worked in commercial construction as a project manager for many years and was immediately at ease with Bill when he met me at the house to walk and talk through the project. He's confident, professional, and honest. Bill offered insight from experience and value added options rather than simple upsells. We agreed on a schedule, a price, and signed an agreement for the work to be done. All said there was just over 2,450 square feet of number 2 red oak to be refinished. Several areas needed extra attention due to damage from decades of neglect, animal urine, and settling. Bill's guys, like him, were confident, experienced, and highly skilled. They clearly communicated and coordinated with me and knocked out the work quicker than we had planned. The house was finished in a week and half from start to finish. Bill and his team utilize a Swedish finish for the floors they install and refinish. We wanted to brighten the house up and took Bill's advice of a natural (clear) finish. The floors turned out amazing with a slightly warm matte finish. An appreciated suggestion was also the addition of flush mount air vents of the same wood species. They add a beautiful touch and clean up the rooms even further. A word on scheduling...the Swedish finish is incredibly durable and beautiful, but it may be one of the most intense fumes I've ever experienced in construction. Know ahead that being in the house when the finish is applied is an absolute non starter and we would suggest, if you can coordinate it, to plan several days away after the last coat to allow it to safely off gas without being in the home. Bill gave great advice regarding airflow and heat to help encourage it along, but it's a real factor in the process to be aware of. All that said, we would highly recommend Willamette Hardwood Floors for any project you have at hand. You'll have beautiful results done by skilled tradesmen who show respect for you and your project every step of the way. Several before and after photos are included here for reference. They charged me $795 for this and gave zero explanation or apologies, they did say they would charge $450 more dollars to fix what they created , I was shocked at how terrible the work was and the customer service afterward was pathetic. I fired them and made them refund my money. I should have made them pay to replace my tub.

Paul is a lying, unreliable, caustic individual. One star is an over statement…read more November 2023 for $500 he refinished the bathtub for my rental. While less than professional he came across as reliable. Shame on me for not checking references. Paul quoted me a one-year warranty. Even though I repeatedly requested warranty and care instructions he never provided any documents. Fast forward to November 2024 my renter moved out. Upon cleaning the house, I discovered that the finish was peeling. I contacted Paul. He stalled me for weeks with really weak excuses why he could not meet with me at the house to inspect his work. When he finally showed up his determination was that the renter abused the tub. He could not describe the form of abuse. As a side note the renter was an extremely maticulas housekeeper. He left the house spotless. Paul offered to refinish the tub for $400. When I declined. Negotiating with him became ugly. I refused to let him refinish a second time for any amount including free. I demanded a $400 refund. This set him off on a really ugly rant. When I asked him to leave while escorting him out the door and to his pickup he swore a vulgar string of curse words. To top that off he verbally threatened me. "I KNOW WHERE LIVE AND I KNOW WHERE YOU WORK". Which he repeated 5 times on his walk to his pickup. I informed him that I would be filing a small claim and report him to the Contractors Board. Later that day Paul texted me asking if he paid me the $400 would I not file a claim and not report to the Contractors Board. I accepted on the condition that he had five business days to have a cashier's check or money order in my possession. I have never received the $400 and I have never heard from him. Litigation is pending.

I vet major projects by reading reviews, which has made me write this one. After reading all the…read more5-star reviews (which influenced my decision to go with this company), I am baffled by the terrifically poor wall painting job Christine's painting contractor provided for us. That, on top of his over the top rudeness to myself and my spouse, just made this job one of the most unpleasant home improvement projects we have done. We had to have the painter return (which was the last thing we wanted) and Christine to rectify the numerous painting errors. He, once again, wouldn't even acknowledge us. Yes, there was a language barrier, but he never once greeted us when coming into our home, rushed through the job (he got "done" two days ahead of schedule) and did one of the messiest wall painting jobs I've seen. Yes, the cabinets look nice, but with all the cabinet refinishing companies out there one would think the finished job should be close to perfect. The owner never checked with us during the job and when we started to express our displeasure towards the end, she offered numerous excuses, defending her painter. We do have a lg Pride flag on our house and we are thinking perhaps the painter was homophobic. We don't readily go to that, but this guy's attitude stumped us. Christine did correct the problems but overall, esp with the amount of $ we spent, we highly regret not going with a different company.
