The small front area of a huge dinning room was comfortably full, for a Tuesday lunch, with a mix of French grandmothers who lunch, businessmen and other locals.
The one extremely capable waitress managed to serve everyone quickly and with style and a smile. They were not phased by the kids, bringing their food early as they were hungry.
My wife and I went for the Menu de Terroir which at EUR31 was probably the best value I have had anywhere in the world. We had amuse bouche, a beautiful starter, Some succulent kidneys for a main course, cheese and by that time I was beaten. I turned down what I thought was coffee but my wife said yes and got a truly wonderful tasting slate of the most amazing desserts.
We emerged blinking into the Champagne sunlight and I would go back, but only once a week, if I lived closer!
