Their freshly made up no nonsense rolls are well priced. They are doing a bit more fruit and veg these days too. I find the security staff intimidating and rude I think one guy there has mummy issues and should really have counselling and not be taking his anger out on customers who do no wrong. The self service section is a joke as half of them have not been switched on and the one l used made me feel as if l just won the jackpot on a fruit machine in a pub, how can a shop justify paying a customer 62p change in 2p pieces. Ice cream that has been defrosted is being re frozen and sold again when l reported the issue to the duty manager he did nothing. Tesco sort yourselves out!

Food items in here are very expensive apart from the odd special offer, but the majority go in for a newspaper, magazine, comic for the children or sweets, crisps, snacks or juice. The staff hardly pay attention to you and really look like they can't be bothered. This isn't the cleanest store either. Its convenient but thats about it. Their selection of maagazines is better than most shops in the are except for WH Smith which isn't that far along the street. With Greggs so close to I'm surprised they sell any of their sandwiches but faced with Greggs queue at lunchtime or nipping into Spar quickly I suppose I know which one I would choose if I was pushed for time.

Primarily it has thrived over the years by identifying that: a) students live nearby, and b) students don't like to walk. As such, rather than simply stocking the usual newsagent fare, it has a small extension packed with the sort of niggly household goods which would generally require a visit to the supermarket - Waitrose, a further five minute walk away and Tesco, 10 minutes in the other direction. It's perhaps a little pricier but you're paying for convenience, and with a license to sell alcohol as well, it's pretty much a one-stop shop for North Kelvinside's student community.

I suppose, this comes with the territory of having people double park and jump into your shop for ciggies and the like.

It's a rather small shop, but they manage to cram an awful lot of good in. They have special offers each week and they'll often have buy one get one free on cans of juice or bottled water. Ok, that'a bit silly, but you get the picture. There's an entire second floor devoted entirely to clothing and Asda's George range, and the downstairs is homeware, kitchenware, groceries and more. There's a very ample selection of foreign foods too, and this livens up the stale supermarket shop no end!

It's particularly good for reasonably priced work clothes and has become my go to place when I need a few new things on a budget. There's also good household and electrical sections where you can often pick up a bargain. I got a really great set of hair clippers for £10 a couple of months ago. The fresh food section is also very good, with a fish counter, an excellent cheese section and pizzas made to order. The fruit and vegetables are also always really great quality, lovely parsnips today! Staff are always friendly and helpful and there are plenty of options for when it comes time to checkout. The rest of the store is what you'd expect of a large Asda and the pay at pump petrol station and car washing facilities give any visit added convenience.

I popped in here to grab some last minute snacks for an event at the nearby Craft Pottery. This is a small Sainsbo's with a small-ish range. They did have everything I needed though - which was crisps and paper towel. The guy on the checkout was exceptionally helpful so big shoutout to him (Daniel, I think his name was) and packed the crisps into bags with flair like I've never seen at Waitrose. He's the reason this is a 4 not a 3-star review. Prices are reasonable, they have a good range of home brand crisps and a few of the varieties are even vegan (who knew bacon crispies would be made from beetroot?!). I'd go here over the nearby Tesco, for sure.

A decent Sainsbury's Local on Sauchiehall Street…read more 'Local' roughly translates as a shop that is really small, based on the size of this one and that's the main annoyance here is that it can be a bit cramped. They do a decent bakery and it's good for picking up bits and bobs if you're going to the GTF for e.g. but if there's a Co-Op and Tesco just up the road a bit and a proper big Sainbury's down the road in the opposite direction which stops me from actively seeking this place out.
