Buying just from looking over pictures was nerve-wracking. Very concerned that we wouldn't like the quality of the pieces. When it finally arrived after 16 weeks, I was blown away by the quality of the furniture. We did the quartersawn oak and the pieces are solid, beautifully made and each are signed by the Amish craftsman who made it. The bedroom set EXCEEDED my expectations in every way! Drawer joints are nicely dovetailed, and pull out to the full length of the drawer. Color of the wood is warm and rich. The queen bed is solid and imposing. The set makes a definite statement when seen for the first time. We opted for "into the house" delivery and it was worth it. We couldn't have gotten the pieces up our stairs, they were very heavy and awkward to handle. We had to assist the delivery men to get the gentleman's chest up the stairs and even with 4 of us, we almost dropped it. I love showing the bedroom set off now because everyone just gushes about how nicely constructed it is. One warning....the set is very large and takes up a lot of room when set up. Not made for a small bedroom!

I called and we decided that if they could get me matching hardware I would simply replace my old hardware with their new. They did send the hardware, but it was the wrong size and color. I returned it. I have subsequently called at least 6 times, sent emails and written letters to try to get this resolved. When I speak to someone, I am given the "I'll take care of it" speech, but nothing has happened. I ordered the armoire in January of 2014 and now it is April of 2015, and I am no closer to having this situation taken care of. My disappointment at how I have been treated is extreme. While I appreciate that mistakes happen, I would think that someone who spent well over $1000, would get the courtesy of a return phone call.

He pays his employees $10.00 an hour while charging $65/plus an hour to his customers. Dave instructs employees to work steady but slow for safety. This equates to much larger labor bills for the customer. He charged a customer $600.00 for use of a backhoe for 10 minutes! He instructs his employees to drive 35 mph to and from worksites regardless of speed limits. I just passed one of his trucks last week - I wonder who the poor customer was paying that $65/hr (labor) drive at 30 mph in a 60 mph zone! Don't be surprised if his workers show up at 8 am, disappear at 9 am and don't return to 4 pm! Guess who pays for that??? Avoid this guy and his family company. He is getting close retirement and gouging everyone!

I had a very messy toilet replaced, and the sweet guys who came to replace it didn't flinch, they cleaned up their mess, and what I considered mine too. We had some plumbing freeze and burst in a rental house, and these guys have made trip after trip out to fix things, without complaint, or over charging for time, materials or charging too much for fuel. They've even called to make sure if we wanted to bring in our own faucets, or purchase theirs. Some companies would automatically just put theirs in. The new toilet we had put in was a raised one for my disabled mother. We purchased it from them, and felt that the quality was far better then what we would have ended up with anywhere else. In our experience this is a very reliable company, and I would remind people that you get what you pay for. We have used other companies in the past and not always been satisfied, we have stuck with Johnson's because in the long run, their work stands up and their employees have great attitudes.

Trying to find a new place now reminded me of this traumatic experience. Melinda was the doctor and she was very rude about fake eyelashes I had on. I didn't realize it would affect the exam, and she made me feel stupid. She was very stuck up and would not stop complaining about coming back to work after going to Paris. Then I was trying to get glasses and could not decide on which pair I wanted as I was indecisive since it is a bigger purchase for me. One of the ladies in the front pushed me to make a decision and was saying whatever she thought I wanted to hear. I then was confused about how the insurance worked and again they treated me like I was stupid. I was so close to crying that I just gave them my credit card so I could get out of there. I cried the entire hour ride home as I was unhappy with the experience and the glasses I got. My mom called the next day to ask if I could by chance cancel the order of the glasses I chose, but they said they were unable to do that which is understandable. However, she then told my mom something along the lines of "well obviously she picked them out for a reason." Just rude staff all around. Definitely makes me hesitant to get an eye exam anywhere now.
