Came here for the specific purpose of attending the Martin Schoeller "Big Heads" exhibit. What a stunning show, delivering far more than we anticipated.
The space was well organized with an introductory video of Schoeller talking about his work in English with Dutch subtitles (sorry, show ends tomorrow). Jack Nicholson's portrait, probably 5-6 feet in height, greets you upon entering the room. Personally found the size of the space to be perfect for this exhibit. Sections of his work were separated by the gallery walls, by example for the female bodybuilders, transgender photos, twins and triplets, movie stars, politicians, etc.
As far as a facility, I love the size and the ease of covering a lot of territory and works of art (photos in this case) within a reasonable area. For a small museum I think they've done a great job. The lobby holds a coffee/tea bar with some alcoholic drinks.
This is a great destination, well worth the effort to get here with reasonable access from public transit. Really enjoyed the show and the space! Top-rated. read more
