I felt that Dr. Handfield "got me" and when I expressed my concerns or asked questions, she knew exactly what to say. It was healing and it made me feel that I was not alone. During a meltdown my parents called him for help and he recommended giving me more of my usual anxiety med. It didn't work so he suggested more. And more. Then began asking my parents if they had something stronger. They tried that. It didn't work. Finally after he began to ask if my grandmother, who was on her way to get my sister, had anything they called 911 instead. I was admitted for an overdose, not just psychiatric issues. This same man is currently accused of drugging over 300 of his patients and being investigated for potential responsibilities in the deaths of 36. This man's care quality is drug his patients to shut them up. He is an awful psychiatrist and if I could rate him negatively I would. I can't believe he has a yelp or even 4 stars. I just happened to be searching up the news article for my current therapist and saw this. People deserve to know the truth. He believes in finding the best way to treat a behavior or need and researches and compares all options also cross references medications the patient is already on, considers other conditions not only the ones he is treating. Very calm and patient. Listens to the patent or caregiver. Office staff is very respectful and polite. His wife has also treated my daughter in the past for some ortho issues, she is so loving and patient as well, anytime anyone asks me about my daughter especially when their child has same diagnosis always praise Dr. Kerlinsky because HE TRULY DESERVES IT!!! Subsequent psychiatrists told me Dr. Pentz's medications were not accurately prescribed. Office receptionist wasn't good with keeping appointments organized. Dr. Pentz was late to appointments. Dr. Pentz didn't have good bedside manner in terms of interactions and her compassion.

She was downright argumentative with me over a cancelled appointment which was so genuinely infuriating I would much rather seek out another doctor than deal with that immature, unprofessional young woman. She has since avoided all phone calls from myself and the clinic which I have switched to requesting the release of my medical records, preventing my new doctor from continuing the medicationI had been receiving. Dr. Pentz's receptionist has taken it upon herself to single-handedly prevent me from receiving my medication in a timely fashion because she has control of the paperwork in the office. You've been warned. She has made a mess of my life because she didn't like a cancellation I made, which is a normal fact of life as a secretary in a medical facility. Dr. Pentz is great, but not good enough to want to deal with her rude secretary regularly. I was a patient there for over a year and had never cancelled an appointment before.
