Hidden gem!!! We stayed at nearby hotel for one night and didn't feel like eating at hotel. Found this place down a dirt road. Pros: great food (especially pizza), great desserts (loved the panna cotta), friendly service and they speak English (at least our server did), neighborhood gem, great beer on tap, the price is right... Cons: be prepared for lots of mosquitoes, especially if walking there. They don't open until 7 pm. Old school bathroom ("hole in the floor"). If I ever fly through Milano again, I will come back for sure. read more

This restaurant is a walk, or drive, down a nondescript narrow dirt road that doesn't look like anything public should be down. It's dark and unlit and laden with pot holes. But keep walking, or driving. Just when you think you're surely in the wrong damn place, keep going. Soon you'll see a sign to your right, Nel Buco Del Mulo, and you're there. This is a locals restaurant so tourists you're in for a treat. When the weather is conducive there's outdoor seating which is really the way to go. The restaurant is clean and the service is friendly. Practice your Italian. Kindness is currency. Use it to buy some pizza or pasta as the Italians eat it, or something else as the menu has many offerings. And some delicious wine. You just can't go wrong. Though the name of this birreria and paninoteca means Donkey Punch, they are let off the hook due to their lovely selection of beers. We selected one that was showing up as a recommended beer on my husbands Untapped list, but unfortunately that had run out. The bartender did recommend we get the Birrificio del Ducato IPA (made in Fiorenzuola), and his recommendation was great. Beer caps are used with plaster to create a fantastic wall focal point. It has the feel of an island drink shack in the center of London. They serve some food items that are listed on the walls and with very musical names, like "Jimi Hendrix" and "AC/DC", all at reasonable prices. All-in-all, it's a nice little place to start our unintentional pub crawl in Trastevere. read more

You should go here instead of the wretched restaurant in your hotel lobby. And getting here is fun - you walk down a dirt road (from say, the Novotel) through the dark woods and emerge a few minutes later at this cozy lil oasis. Use the Google Map! Plenty of savvy Malpensa travelers and some locals there. The interior, lighting and decor are meh, and service is a bit inconsistent but the food is great. And they have Italian microbrews! Anyway we had steak, boar pastas, roasted potatoes (very tasty!) and a couple of very nice dolci after. Not the cheapest but a nice option for the area. read more

Was not impressed.Had pasta with seafood but the seafood was not very fresh.Dessert, Tiramisu, was good. Location is nice as it's in the middle of a "forest". Staff is nice. Overpriced in my opinion. I'll come back to try the pizzas and they looked better then the pasta dishes. read more

The restaurant is in the middle of a forest, and it has al fresco dining. The food was quite good, and they have several local beers on tap. It's Italy, so there is a fine wine list too. Basic looking in a very very good way, 'donkey punch' has enough beers to keep me going for a couple of days without repeating myself! I was just here for the one mind you and the bartender really came through for me when by recommending me the Birrifico del Ducato IPA when my original selection was not available. This is the second time we were here and it just gets better. The food was cooked to perfection. I got the gnocchi with red chicory and the fillet with wine sauce and shallots. I was pleasantly surprised at how delicious they were. I was going to get the panettone for dessert but the waiter recommended the tiramisu. I am so glad that I listened to him except for the fact that I know I will never get it as good again anywhere else. This is truly an authentic restaurant that I highly recommend!. read more

This place is not where yelp has it mapped. It is west on Via Al Campo, west of the Best Western/Novotel, ~1/4mi down a dirt road in the forest (Google maps has it right). Worth the trip out there. Less than 10 minute walk from hotels, and way better ambiance. Inexpensive and delicious pizza €8, 1L vino on tap €7! We saw this place while staying nearby before a flight the next day and we're glad we went! English is doable and they took Visa. read more

Have been here a number of times. Location is everything and it's close to many hotels near Malpensa. The food and ambiance is OK. My gripe is the sticker shock from the bill. It's not itemized and always seems high. But it does offer pizza for takeout and they will cut it for you and the lady at the front speaks English. Fantastic eats and craft beers! We loved this place! Very few places to go for craft beer in Italy and they really know their stuff here. Friendly and super cool staff. The porchetta da ariccia makes an incredible panini. Loved to music playing. Great vibes!!! read more
