One star for follow-up, I scheduled my work day the day of appointment to accommodate the service, and found out 20 minutes before the appt that it had to be moved to next day. Would have liked a follow up call at least an hour before giving notice of appointment change. Scheduled appt for following day, no call to cancel, no show to appointment. Called to verify time and didn't pick up. Can't give a positive review or a review at all if I am not treated as a valuable customer and you take time out of the work day to accommodate a service that was never received. I have used Nelson Air before and found them to be prompt, responsive, and cost competitive. I called them to replace my mothers furnace. It was no longer working and she needed heat. December is cold even in orange county. They understood the urgency, came right out, and started working. I called Nelson AC at 6 pm after I came home from work and noticed water dripping from one of the ceiling vents. It turns out the ac unit has a drain pipe which was clogged. He arrived the same night at 9 pm and cleared out the problem. Talk about after hours service. It was great! Especially since its been 100+ degrees lately. During the recent heat-wave, my AC pretty much gave up. As you might imagine, my discomfort was extreme. I now had the problem of getting service for my equipment. Since all of the AC service companies were completely overwhelmed, I was lucky to get them to even answer my call (most didn't) let alone commit to a time for repair. My fifteenth call was to Nelson Air. Michelle answered and commiserated with my situation. She couldn't schedule anything then but pledged to do her best to put me in the que. Nelson Air is the most incompetent air condition service I ever dealt with. They don't give free estimates. When they come out to do service, their equipment is old and broken. You can't even tell if it works. Then, after they go through an inspection, it it's basically guess work to find leaks, etc...I had to call my original air conditioning installer to find the real problem. Do NOT trust Nelson Air Conditioning. They are are a rip off. read more

Oct. 2015 Sadly we called Scott out to fix our AC unit as it had stopped blowing cold air. His final answer after a couple of calls back and forth is that he didn't have time. So much for standing behind your work. In the end we found someone else who said all it needed was some coolant. So sorry Nelson Air can't be bothered to look after their own install. We won't be using them again. From 3 years ago: Had Scott install new AC and furnace, and he even arranged to install pull down stairs into our attic, and a ceiling fan. They really put in the effort, and had everything installed in a couple of days (had to move some of our ducting to bring it up to code). A few months later the AC went out (fruit rats ate the wires), and he took care of that too. Only complaint is it seems he over schedules himself, and there fore arrives late, often. When he's here though, he works hard. read more

I own a grooming salon and was looking to tap into my current air conditioning unit and run a duct into my kennel room, where we keep the dogs, so they would stay nice and cool as well. While giving the estimate he walked through all my options and explained the pros and cons of different types of equipment and where to place the unit etc. Scott even took his time to recommend the different types of filters, MRV ratings and UV lights etc, which was a concern for me given that I have severe allergies. I talked to several HVAC contractors about replacing my units and by far Scott (the owner) had the best prices and seemed the most knowledgeable. He spent over an hour checking everything out and took the time to explain to me everything that needed to be done. He was even looking at ways in which he could save me money on the installation without cutting corners.
