First time going to a chiropractor as an adult. I hurt my back do to an exercise. The front desk girls were nice and friendly. The chiropractor assistant was so sweet and nice and explained billing and what I mite have to pay at end and they would work with me if needed. Told me not to stress or worry. That was very sweet of her. Dr Nelson was sweet and nice. She adjusted me and I could feel a big difference in my back. The pain is half what it was when I went in. Dr. Nelson hurt me very badly. She never showed her face around me again. I had to come in for an emergency appointment because Dr. Nelson's adjustment left me immobilized. I did continue to go to Nelson chiropractic (I did not see her) for a few more appointments that I had already set up. I was trying to get back to the same amount of pain I was in before I ever started going there instead of being worse off. I will say one good thing about Dr. Nelson. She is a great salesman. That team has their pitch down and they fill people with hope. False hope. During my initial consultation I was literally in tears because I had never been told I could live a pain-free life. I guess I wanted to believe it so badly that I did. I was pleased with my first couple of adjustments but soon realized after they have their hooks in you, pre-existing conditions and patient specific information goes out the window. Each appointment quickly became, for lack of a better term, "Wham Bam thank you ma'am". I canceled all of my future appointments and opted out of text messaging reminders which never stopped coming. Today I called the office to finally voice my complaint. I explained that I was still receiving texts even though I had opted out & cancelled all of my appointments. I explained how disappointed I was with Dr. Nelson hurting me. I was told that it was OK. When I said, "No, it's not OK" the receptionist hung up on me. I called back and had another receptionist answer who said I used foul language towards the first receptionist, calling her a very nasty word. This must be where the phrase "adding insult to injury" comes from. I won't even type the word on this review but they had no problem saying it out loud to an injured former patient. Steer clear of this place. Dr. Nelson will fill you with hope and hurt you. read more

I've been going to this chiropractor for years....15 to be exact...now I have insurance and have NEVER had a problem with going over visits or anything. The billing department of this practice is ungodly rude. This lady asked me if I thought I should have gotten my visits that were some how scheduled without being covered for free. I obviously told her no but it's not my responsibility to keep up with insurance. This chiropractic office is large and well staffed. They have fancy equipment, brochures, handouts and an impressive web site. How do they pay for all this? Through manipulation of their patients, and I don't mean chiropractic manipulation. Unlike other chiropractors that I've been to, you can't just go see them when you have an issue. No. They want to put you into a "program" that has you coming back and back again, time after time, week after week, month after month. They say it's to maintain your wellness. It's really a manipulation to scam as much money out of you as they can. They've got a lot of overhead to pay for and they see every patient that walks through their doors as one big dollar sign. The Quad Cities is blessed with a multitude of chiropractors. I recommend you seek one out that has your interest at heart and let's you decide when you need to see them. Dr.Tyler. I've been involved in a automobile accident in the last decade and they treated my neck and back with great success. My one star comes because after 5 plus years I decided maybe I would like some simple maintenance care done. You would think simple. I have a few friends that are chiros and obviously I've been to them before no problem. Anyway, this time I chose to see Lindsey Gall. She has the friendly nice lady next door about her. I went a couple times and then decided to ask if she could adjust my fingers sometimes I can't move them and I was thinking maybe arthritis was setting in. But I've never been diagnosed. She said sure and no sooner did she say sure she grabbed my arm with extreme force at my wrist and started shaking and pulling it. Totally caught me off guard. And my daughter couldn't believe it. Her face said it all. The next day my wrist hurt but I know sometimes things hurt for awhile then they get better. It didn't get better I went back to see her and she just said "oh, I'm sure it's just from your arthritis " I'm not even positive I have arthritis. It still hurt at a 8 so I went to the first med to check it out. The Dr looked at it and asked if I had fallen I said no. He said you had traumatic force. I told him what had happened. He said the force caused you to get tendinitis. That forceable pulling action caused it. He had x-rays done. No break or fraction. The x-rays tech asked if I had fallen and I again said no. I told her what had happened. She said the traumatic force did it. The Dr gave me a splint and to take ibuprofen for pain. It takes time to heal and follow up with my Dr. Ok. I called Dr. Nelson's office wanting to talk to her to see what she thought. The staff told me she would return my call but instead Dr Gall called me. I told her what was said by the Dr. But she never wanted to take accountability for it. She said these things happen. Trying to place the blame on me. Remember I went to her just for maintenance care. Nothing was really bothering me. And then I simply wanted her to adjust my fingers. Not pull my entire arm off. Finally, after some work. I kind of got her to admit maybe she played a part in causing the pain. But my insurance doesn't cover the therapy I may need there so I needed my Dr to send me somewhere else. Even though they offer the services and caused the issue. Went for a visit again. Pain is still a 8 and she says your pain is about a 2. I said no its 8 and if I move it or lift it its a 10. Ohhh she says. Really? I go to my family Dr. Yes, I have tendinitis where the brace wrap in ace bandage take Naproxen for swelling. And ice I do. Still no relief. We are on week 4 constant pain.Caring for my grand son, Opening the door, brushing hair and teeth, driving, lifting, reaching, carrying. Dressing. It's all difficult. And painful. If I would still be at my job I wouldn't be able to perform my duties and who would've paid my bills? These are very important things to think about. I went back yesterday to see Dr.Gall. And she just acts as if all is well. We went over what occurred again. And she insisted that they do not give away free services. Of course not. You are a business. However, you caused my pain. You should do everything in your power to fix my pain. I didn't cause your pain. You had a underlying issue. Well, when I walked in your office my wrist never ever hurt. Now I am at a 8 and 10 pain level every day for 4weeks. You used excessive force on my arm and made the tendinitis surface. Your action made it surface. This shows bad character and no integrity. Not taking ownership for something you caused. Just because you keep saying it , doesn't make it not true. You would want to do absolutely everything to make certain that your patient was pain-free. At whatever cost. That's good character and integrity and good business. Happy patients make repeat patients and word of mouth patients. I consulted with 7 other chiropractic doctors told them the scenario. Each one had the same response. Always take care of the patient regardless of payment. Especially when you caused it. Or your action caused it. You need to stand accountable. Now I'm traveling to Kansas City. For treatment from another chiropractor. Acupuncture and keniseo tape. Hopefully that works. I would like my normal pain free life back. So, in my opinion. Looks are deceiving. See Dr. NELSON OR Dr. TYLER before her. This is only my personal experience and I would never ever want someone to go through this. read more
