I agreed to pay her retainer fees for the case (exorbitant fee, but I expected to have to pay considerably in order to get results) and left hopeful that everything was now in a lawyers hands and that a solution would be made however I called and spoke with the receptionist (Cindy) a week later and she said she had no information and that Ms Lawson was out of the office. I called again two weeks later and was told Ms Lawson was in court and unavailable and she would contact me. A month later I called again and asked for an update on anything at all that had been done and was told by the secretary that she didn't have access to Ms Lawson's records but I could leave a message. This back and forth happened for several months without a single communication from Ms Lawson. So basically they have taken my money and done absolutely nothing for me and won't return my calls. So now I am left to reach out to another lawyer to address my problem (with critical time having passed) and I have really don't intend on having to get another lawyer to sue this horrible lawyer (Ms Lawson) to get back all the money I spent on the consultation and retainer because all I want is a resolution to my initial problem. This is just a warning to anyone who could potentially consider using Cheryl Lynn Lawson's services to be extremely cautious and realize that the same utter lack of respect or work ethic could befall you.

Afton Legal Clinic helped us with a real estate deal. We were selling and really just needed a Deed…read moreto be produced. From the very beginning, we could never get them to return calls or help us understand what was happening. We worked hard to try to schedule an appointment to come by their office to sign documents as we were not going to be available for the closing. We eventually got someone on the phone and let them know what we wanted but never got a response back with a date. We ended up calling again to finally get a date and time. We showed up and they thought we were an hour late but we were right on time. The notary did not seem to understand what some of the documents were or if we even needed to sign some of them. When we were leaving the office, we walked right by a person who we now know is Bruce Tyler but he never even lifted his head to acknowledge us or to introduce himself. The whole process was quite uncomfortable and we left with great concern. In the end, the closing attornies did not get all of the docs that they needed and some were not notarized. They notified Afton Legal Clinic but it still took 4 days before the closing attornies received the documents that were required for closing. This dalayed the closing and disbursement of funds by 4 days. We called Afton Legal Clinic through this process and they were quick to blame anybody else but never took responsibility for the problems with the process. We would certainly never use them again and don't recommend others do at least for a real estate closing where you are hoping for things to go smoothly and on time.
