I really enjoyed my stay at the Neptune Holliday Resort. The rooms are bright, spacious and well designed. They are fitted out with simple modern furniture. During my stay I found the rooms to be quiet and most importantly I found the bed comfortable. There was always plenty of parking in the secure underground carpark and the parking bays were wide enough to open my car doors without hitting the car beside me. The lifts were always fast and frequent. This resort is a few minute walk to the beach and even closer to the massive Pacific Fair shopping complex. There is also a light rail diagonally across the road that takes you to Surfers Paradise or all the way out to the numerous theme parks the Gold Coast has to offer.
This wouldn't be a fair review if I did not mention the shortcomings of this Resort. For a start the carpark access ramp is opposite side of the normal Australian road rules. Drivers must drive down the right lane instead of the standard Australian left. I nearly had a head on as I entered it for the first time.
The water saving shower head made having a shower a long affair. The shower had a small soap dish but had no shelf for a shampoo bottle. The toilet paper holder was located on the side wall and was too far back behind the user to easily use it as beaded unless. It must have been designed by a contortionist.
The internet worked fine but quests who booked their rooms through third party and not directly through Neptune are slugged $5 a day for Internet access. I was also disappointed that my internet access was cut off a few hours early on checkout day especially because I bloody had paid for it!
All in all the Neptune Resort was priced well and my stay there was comfortable. Even with the above list of shortcomings I will still give it four stars. read more
