Last week, I was on a quest to repair my Rolex. My best experience was at Nesbit's. I visited both Alvin Goldfarb's and Ben Bridge's. Ben Bridge's was the worst; the staff was unfriendly and unhelpful. Goldfarb's was the opposite. However, when I went to Nesbit's, the woman there was not only very friendly but also very helpful. She explained the situation to me, explaining how the mainspring on a Rolex is usually routinely replaced and that my watch likely had a broken mainspring as well. I'm sad that I cannot give them my business because Rolex doesn't sell parts for this model to them. This isn't my first time visiting them, though. I went there years ago to have my watch band resized. They were very friendly and helpful then as well. I highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to service their watches. Sent an omega speedmaster 125 for repair. They said it passed water test. But kept on fogging up. Sent it back. They said nothing wrong with it. Had to send it to omega to get all the resealing redone. It works perfectly now. Many parts replaced by omega. Doesn't fog up any more. But had to spend an extra $900 with Omega to get it done right. read more

So, I was on a quest to get my watch battery replaced - a nice enough watch that I couldn't do it myself, but not nice enough that I wanted some snooty jeweler looking down their nose at me when I requested service. What I wanted to find was simple - a small mom & pop watch repair shop. Seems to me that they've disappeared, along with the small shoe repair businesses. I checked out Yelp, and there the people raved about a shop on 3rd Avenue, but warned they kept odd hours. I found the place (on the 2nd floor of an office building), and sure enough they were closed, with a note on the door saying they wouldn't return for another 5 days. I didn't want to wait. Checked out yellowpages.com, and found out about Nesbit's, checked out their website (http://www.nesbitswatchservice.com), then went up to see what they could do for me. They're tucked right between Office Depot and the construction mess that used to be Rite Aid. They were friendly, courteous, prompt and inexpensive. I sent in an inquire to them for a quote to service my Omega Seamaster Cosmic 2000. I initially declined after they gave me a quote so I can check what other watchmakers may offer. In the end I decided to send it to Nesbit's as they seemed more genuine and straightforward. When I got my watch back and my initial impression is that the refinishing was top notch and they definitely fixed the real issue of my watch running slow. However, I did have an issue where somehow my stem broke when I adjusted the time and sent them a video. Nesbit's is a first class business with great service and friendly people. I sent in my Seamaster for an overhaul and Jan was as nice as you read about and walked me through the steps. Her estimate for a turnaround time was accurate, and this being my first experience overhauling a watch (and since I was sending it cross country and was a bit nervous), she patiently and graciously answered all of the questions I peppered her with throughout the process. I got my watch back looking like new and the timing was ridiculously good. I had some questions about what the timing slip meant and Jan immediately offered to have one of their watchmakers review it with me. Overall, the entire Nesbit's team made this process a pleasant experience. As an update: I developed some timing issues with the watch, through what was likely my own fault with a magnet, and Jan talked me through the warranty service process. As with my first experience, it was quick and easy, and I'll be getting the watch back within a week of sending it in, which IMO is a great turnaround time for a mechanical watch service. Nesbit did a repair and service on my Omega Seamaster. They arranged the shipping and provided confirmation when the watch was received. After an evaluation, my watch was refinished and repaired. After a a year and a half the watch started to run a bit slow. Nesbits requested I return it to their shop for evaluation where they cleaned and calibrated my watch, under warrantee, and free of charge. My original intention was to replace a battery in a Bulova that I inherited on my Dad's death bed. I brought it to Nesbit's (after finding them using my iPhone). I rang their doorbell for entrance into their lobby. I was promptly (and warmly) greeted. I was given the bad news about my Bulova watch requiring a battery that is banned in the USA due to it's mercurial content. I did however give them the watch that I was wearing. It had not been serviced for over 10 years. They replaced the crown, the waterproof gasket, stem, crystal and assorted springs and gears. I mentioned to them that I needed prior to my upcoming trip. They had it ready several days prior to my departure date. They expedited the repair at no additional charge. They also provided me with a 36 month warranty. It looks, feels and functions as though I bought a new watch! I highly recommend Nesbit's for watch repair and maintenance service! read more

If you need to replace your watch battery, this is the place to go... if you own a mechanical watch, try somewhere else. My omega seamaster 30 was in dire need of a new crystal and new hands. The caliber is a 269 which is vintage, but this was a new-old-stock movement that was purchased new in 2000. -When calling in reference to my quote, the receptionist stated, "OH, you're the guy with the really old watch." This did not instill confidence. Omega sold many watches in the late 1990s and early 2000s with new-old-stock movements. Additionally, Omega used the same caliber in their Speedmasters from 1967 to 1997 (cal 861), and the current caliber (1861) is virtually the same, so I was not appreciative of the treatment I received for having a 'vintage' movement. -They were also unmovable and insisted on installing different style hands than the ones the watch came with from the factory. -To top things off, upon return of the watch, the engraving and seamaster logo on my case were not aligned to the watch datum. I expect a higher level of professionalism from the only Omega repair center in the Pacific Northwest, especially if you are about to part with $800. read more
