I have suffered with issues around anxiety, what I refer to as low grade depression, due to childhood trauma that I experienced. In addition, in my mid fifties I started to notice a slight decline in mental acuity. As a patient of Dr. Thompson, my experience has been one of profound healing, for myself and for my son. After getting my brain map done, Dr Thompson and I were both able to see how my issues could improve through a combination of Neuro modulation while also having a talk therapy session. Over the course of this past year my overall appreciation for life and general well being has increased, very little anxiety left, and little to no further depression. Mental acuity has also improved, I feel like I can perform in my work like I did before, perhaps even better now. My son had been labelled as ADD in elementary school. He did struggle with school, but managed to do pretty well. In college he was only able to pull solid grades from the film classes he took, otherwise he tended to tank. He also had a very difficult time holding down a part time job. When my son met Dr Thompson, she determined that his brain profile did not match up with the typical profile of Adult ADD, but that he had a low voltage profile that could be improved upon. In addition to the neuro modulation that he received, Dr Thompson worked with Adam and got him to find excitement in what he was most interested in and passionate about, which was and is screenwriting. Dr Dogris is a complete egomaniac and grifter. As intelligent as he may be, he does not care about the people / patients he siphons money out of. I spent 3 months this summer doing daily hyperbaric oxygen chamber and neuro stimulation for ADHD, spending thousands of dollars because I believed in him and how sincere he seemed when we first met. I came to find, however, that he really invests no time or effort into the patient after the initial meeting. His write ups had flaws and were clearly rushed, and perhaps MOST importantly he also doesn't seem to understand or remotely care about how vulnerable a position one is in when one is told told by a "genius / expert" how incapable one's own brain is. He practically verbatim said "sorry, you're just a shiny object person, and other than that you're just average" without any awareness of how this might be confronting / hurtful / damaging OR try to take any time to help me discover any of the wonderful things about my brain / our brains that make me / us unique. And, to top the entire expensive and totally impersonal experience off, after the 3 weeks were up, I asked Dr. Dogris where I could go to continue treatment when I returned to Los Angeles (which is my main residence.) He gave me a list of places and I contacted one of them. The woman there asked for my last QEEG result, which I emailed him requesting. NO reply. I emailed him a follow up a couple of weeks later, still NO reply. So in summary -- Dr Dogris doesn't care about you, (unless you are a rare enough brain guinea pig for him to test his theories out on). While I've only gone through the initial consult, getting my brain scanned was really insightful. Tiff and the technology is great. I was able to learn which side of my brain was most active, which region and wave length is triggering most regularly, and what activities I might be better or worse at because of the showings. Despite a couple head injuries over the years, it was nice to see nothing coming up in those regions as problem spots. I realized I'm more right brain than left. I'd long thought the opposite, since math and Excel sheets came easy to me. Now it's time to set some goals and see how the full therapy works out. So far, I'd recommend at least the consult for all people. (Note that I didn't go because of any trauma or desires for traditional therapy work. I think if you're in a journey to fix/figure out your brain that's the place to start and mostly reason why is that all other therapies we've done where done on "let's see what happens" basics and some of them should not be done because of specific brain waves present in the EEG. Hands down? Worth every blessed penny! I came in to Tiff Thompson's office with severe CPTSD triggering. I could barely leave my house, let alone function day to day, due to how bad my startle reflex was. I was in a constant state of hyperarousal and hyper vigilance. After the first three out of twelve intensive sessions, I had begun to see major positive changes! It was nice to see towards end of the EEG during therapy that was confirming what I was verbalizing which was that my brain centers that were once lit up with anxiety, were in the negative! I can now function, and deal with my triggers much more effectively. I will continue to go for once a month maintenance to continue the benefits. It was nice to see and validate what parts of my brain were functioning well and where deficits showed up. I always wanted to have my brain scanned because I know it's exceptional, and I had read great things about neuro feedback therapy. I would and have recommended Tiff to friends and loved ones as this was truly, profoundly a valuable tool to stimulating me in a balanced way! I cannot day enough good things about Neurofield. Our 9 year old son was struggling with focus and impulsive behaviors, we were struggling as a family as a result. I sent an email to Dr. Dogris abs he called me back the same day, we spoke for almost 1/2 over the phone. I felt great after talking to him but was apprehensive because of the cost. A few weeks more of struggling and I called them back , I felt desperate to help him and did not want to put him on medications as others had suggested. We had an appointment the next week. I cried the first time I meet Dr's Dogris and Thompson. I knew we were in the right place. Dr Thompson did the brainmapping she reviewed it and then we met to discuss it. We came up with a plan to treat our son. We started with 3 sessions a week, then 2, now 1 and we are nearly done with treatment. The results have truly been AMAZING. Our sons grade started improving instantly, I stopped getting note from the teachers about his lack of focus and he now has the ability to think before he makes a move . Really disappointed. I called to schedule an appointment with one of the therapists and the receptionist told me that an initial eval might not be covered by my insurance, she stated that sometimes it's "weird" with insurance. Called and checked with my insurance and they said they did cover initial evaluations and it would just be the standard copayment. When it came time for my appointment (I called the day before) the receptionist said that it was the company's policy that they never bill insurance for the initial evaluation and you always have to pay the full $200. Something they did not say when they called for my credit card information, I had to ask before they told me how much they were charging. I felt like the way that Neurofield Neurotherapy handled this was shady and cancelled my appointment. Sad that a company that's supposed to help people is taking advantage of people with their billing practices. Definitely can not recommend or support a company that actively deceives it's clients. In response to Tiff's comment, this did not have ANYTHING to do with the services of talk therapy or neurotherapy being covered through my insurance as she has suggested. I was able to clear that with my insurance company, Anthem Blue Cross. This had to do with the fact that the staff told me that the INITIAL visit was some times "weird" with insurance. I called my insurance company and they stated that they absolutely covered the initial evaluation visits. I only discovered that Neurofield Neurotherapy's policy stated that they NEVER billed insurance for the initial evaluation after they called to get my credit card information before my initial session was supposed to be. I then asked the receptionist to make sure that they were charging the $25 copayment through my insurance since the insurance company stated that they would cover the initial visit. This is when she told me that Neurofield Neurotherapy's policy was that they always charge the full $200 and never bill insurance for the initial evaluation. This Information was different from insurance being "weird" about the initial visit. I did a LOT of Research on Neuro Therapy and even had my son at the time who was 12 years old diagnosed by another doctor. I was not convinced it was the right person and then I found Dr Tiff Thompson. My son at the time was not doing well in school, had a very hard time focusing, and was not very confident. I am a 28 year old male combat veteran. I came to Tiff Thompson mainly to address my post traumatic stress symptoms using this new technology. At the time I was experiencing severe depression, anxiety, suicidal thoughts, and restless sleep. To deal with these issues I used cannabis everyday for about four years. After my twenty or so sessions I feel like these symptoms have decreased in their severity. I also could see the possibility of living my life without being in a constant cannabis induced fog. I personally don't know if 'PTSD' is curable. I am 60 years old and suffered with anxiety for decades. I found it difficult to function because I spent so much of the day trying to figure out what supplement I could take or what doctor I could go see to help me not feel that pain in my heart and stomach.
