As a Villa Rica Public Library patron and community partner, I can't overstate my satisfaction with…read moreVR Library. The Manager, Dr. Rachel Linn, and the entire staff are so warm, welcoming and accommodating. They have generously supported my modular Black History exhibit, "The Carver High Experience," every February for the past 7 or so years. The space that is provided allows me to present my visitors a true "Museum Without Walls" experience. In recent years, we've had more than ten large (30-60) student groups from Carrollton City and other school districts, visit it. As well as a number of senior and church groups. I provide a walking and talking tour of the exhibit along with a personal narrative about My Carver High Experience and my childhood growing up in Carroll County when this area was populated by only a few thousand people and most of them were farmers. The number of general public visitors continues to grow. Back in 2005, our original goal was to create a brick and mortar museum. When that plan fell through, I had an epiphany to create a modular traveling exhibit. The rest is history. VRPL has become a vital component of my answered prayer: to research, preserve and share the history of African Americans in Carroll County with current and future generations. When we started this quest in 2004, hardly anyone remembered or knew much about Carver High. Most in the younger generations had not heard of it - including many African Americans! By now , I believe MOST residents know something about Carver High. In closing, our Visitors' Log keeps track of individual visitors (not including the students). The visitors count continues to hover around 300-400 indIvidual visitors. I know for a fact that some visitors don't sign the log. So there's another hundred or so visitors to add to the visitors' count. I am thrilled that approximately 1000 visitors now come to see "The Carver High Experience" each year at the VR Library... I believe their warm and welcoming atmosphere has a lot to do with it! We started out including a Tour of the Library to manage the oversized groups. I'm sure many of those young people have become patrons themselves. VRPL has so many youth-oriented activities and feature, such as gaming tournament, a teen center, study rooms, a separate children's library, etc. It is also the meeting place for adult clubs and community organization. You also have the option to use one of their smaller meeting rooms. They also have a large wall of information about different business and services. The facility was clean and very comfortable. They even have a small kitchen that you can use if you need to during your meeting. The staff is very helpful and friendly as well!

From my experience, the staff does an amazing job reaching out (props to Kali & Sara). What impresses me it that the staff is always ready to help, very knowledgeable with the activities in the community, and always trying to find ways to get better. With that said, we sometimes encounter nay sayers, or Debbie downer, however this is only location that you won't find one. Great work, we're proud of your contributions to the community.

The city is always trying to improve and take care of the citizens. A calm and quiet place to live on the north side of Coweta County the quaint town offers a quiet but close options to Atlanta suburban living.

First, the positives: parking was free and convenient, and the women's restroom was clean and well-maintained. I was pleasantly surprised to see Sunshine Anderson and Angela Winbush perform. However, the overall event felt very disorganized. The program seemed all over the place, with hours of choirs, bands, and speakers mixed in with the musical performances. At times, it felt more like the audience was being lectured about relationships than attending a concert. The biggest issue was whoever approved placing VIP tents directly in front of and around the stage made a terrible decision. Most attendees could barely see the performers. For a free public event, having VIP sections block the view of the stage was frustrating and made little sense. The radio host spent much of the evening shouting into the microphone, which added to the chaotic feel of the event. A professional event planner could have greatly improved the flow and overall experience. While I appreciated the opportunity to attend a free Juneteenth celebration and enjoyed seeing some of the featured artists, the poor stage visibility and event organization made this a disappointing experience. Unfortunately, this will likely be my last event at this venue if it's organized by the same group. Please DO BETTER NEXT YEAR!
