Using Google Maps, I found this GreenDrop trailer in the parking lot of Christ Lutheran Church... how interesting! The guy in the trailer was polite and pleasant. After I gave him my boxes, I asked if he needed my phone number... Yes! He entered my number onto the tablet. I received an email soon after. I'll print out this receipt when I find a printer... Thank you for the efficiency! Note: This location publicizes that it's connected with the American Red Cross. Hours of operation: Monday to Saturday from 8:30am to 5pm. Sundays from 9am to 4pm.

Since i was in the area finding a Green Drop here in Mililani is a great convenience as I'm able to drop my donation in a green bin located right in front of the large trailer that's parked in the lot of Christ Lutheran Church on Hokuwelowelo Place or the easiest description is across Town Center of Mililani. You just can't miss the huge green trailer a trademark that makes it easy to find and the staff here is very nice and helpful if you need assistance though i had some bags of clothing in an unused luggage love that each location is sponsored by a non profit and this one is by American Red Cross. Here in Hawaii recycling is important and donate items are going to some great cause is easy with some charities that will transform it with your items. Thank you!

Over 35 years…read more That's the amount of time it took for me to come to Hawaii Okinawa Center (HOC). Opened in June 1990, HOC was built in recognition of the Okinawan immigrants to Hawaii. Born and raised in Hawaii, there is a strong Okinawan community celebrating many events. Although some may think of the distance to this venue, it's a little over 25 mins from town. I recently came to HOC to celebrate a relative's wedding. I was quite impressed with this venue as it's quite spacious with multiple entrances. Although 35 years have passed the interior was simple but bright for this joyous occasion. Food, drinks and entertainment were all arranged by the families so you get to select the theme and create the atmosphere you wish. It was a casual wedding reception that was able to facilitate about 400 people. It was a Hawaiian themed menu where the buffet line was controlled by the steward who escorted attendees by tables. Venue was large enough to have multiple stations providing food, dessert, drinks and entertainment. I initially was planning to partake in the photo booth but the lines were too long so I ended up passing. So why not 5-stars? The venue could have been updated more for a more modern vibe. Also, the parking lot cannot accommodate large scale events so regardless we arrived before the event, many of us had to seek street parking and then walk over. Overall, I found HOC a fairly decent venue for a get together. I wouldn't hesitate to RSVP to another event at this spot. The drive over from town is tolerable and once again, a great facility to bring people together for an occasion.

He has been a cherished family member ever since that fateful evening. We had him scanned at the vet, but they didn't know which company. I tried calling HHS and never got a person, then I found Cat Friends. The switch was easy with the company once I verified with the csr who the original chip belonged to. He is now an indoor only kitty enjoying the spoils of wet food, air conditioning, tv, toys, bird watching beds, and being granny's favorite fur baby. Just dont tell the others. Lol! Thank you Cat Friends for the village involved in his life. From the people who trapped and released him, to the medical team who neutered and monitored him. I will pay it forward for introducing me to my best friend. ^_^ Update: I realized I didn't include information on how others can help too! On their website, hicstfriends.org, click on ways to help. There is a donation link powered by givebutter, so you can make a one time or monthly monetary donation of your choice. There is a volunteer link if you wish to sign up for more opportunities such as clinic days, or other duties such as educating, trapping, or assisting other volunteers in feeding/trapping. You can also gift items they need such as: wet and dry cat food, gas gift cards, led flashlights and batteries, 55 and 13 gallon trash bags, paper towels, and clorox bleach for their supply pantry/clinic days. If you are unable to make the the supply drop off from 10a-2p on their clinic days, you can always give them a call and coordinate a drop off date. Clinic days involves signing up for different shifts, (9-2, 12-4p, 3p-end of shift) and different duties such as: checking in, numbering the traps and placing kitties in line for surgery, cleaning the traps and lining them with fresh paper, monitoring the cats who are waking up from anesthesia (I think this is a great opportunity for future vet med students), administration duties such as helping with paperwork or discharging cats, laundry, cleaning, and organizing. As I was driving in Pearl City I noticed a Salvation Army bin at the corner of my eye and wondered if they were open for donations as I do have some items I need to drop off and went right around the corner and found the container in the lot of the Joy of Christ Church. It seems like services are over and the lot was completely empty as I parked right beside it I could hear music and saw there was a gentleman there in the almost bare container...sob! He was such a delight and told him that I had no idea it was here and he says there was a sign but was told it needed to be taken down was sad to hear as this type of services are in need and as he sat in the bar container on a Sunday afternoon he was so bright and cheerful with a great smile it was a positive vibe that really stuck with me and was so happy to have donated some items that will go to great homes. It isn't only cleanups, they handle restoration and land management by preservation, teaching, and so much more. Kimeona and his team are well versed and well organized in what they are doing. They have equipment so when you arrive, after you fill out the documents online, you are ready to go. Of course prepare by getting a good meal in you, staying hydrated, bring water (they also supply water but bring your reusable water bottle), comfortable clothes and shoes, and be prepared to "give back"! I love learning history and culture and the oli and taking care of the Aina. I don't want to give away too much, but at the same time I want to share everything. I have been volunteering with this team, mostly at the same place, although I met up at Magic Island and it needed, for a couple of years. My takeaways, it's personal for me.

We decided to pay our respect to the land that we enjoyed by helping clean it. This organization was more about teaching what is around us versus just picking up garbage. We first removed evasive trees along the river. The cool thing was that we moved the branches to a different area that feeds certain Beatles. Then months after the tress/branches were stepped on and crushed to be part of the earth. After about an hour and half of work we took a little environmental tour to learn of the necessary ecological balance needed for the islands. We saw the last type of a certain succulent, we saw endangered shrubs, and Hawaiian bees that are also endangered. We go to Hawaii and take, this time we gave back

I like that Helping Hands is truly a nonprofit organization because they don't sell your donated goods to the people who need them. People can come get the goods for free at helping hands. Staff were always very friendly and helpful with unloading my car. They are also very good about giving me the tax write off forms. (Salvation Army has you go to a website to get tax form and I couldn't even create an account successfully on the website. Kept getting error message.) Helping hands drop off times are Monday to Friday from 11 AM to 2 PM so the drop off window is pretty limited.
