The entrée, a delicious tandoor kebab with tomatoes and hot, long peppers, made for a truly riveting introduction to Turkish cuisine. Highly recommended. I visited the restaurant again the following evening and had the mixed grill, I was right the first time, Kebabi's food is superb.

Glad to see that's not the case. Unfortunately I forgot to check as we were leaving what the neighbouring restaurants are called but basically the entrance is on the north side of the street (right hand side coming from Istiklal) through a non-descript door with the words 'Emre Han' on it, you then have to go into the lift and press for the 6th floor. Ask, as we did, staff at other restaurants for help if you miss it! The interior is utterly charming, a sort of attic garden, almost like a picnic railway carriage. It was packed at 9pm on a Wednesday night and there's nowhere really to wait/get a drink but we were seated after only about 10 minutes (grab a menu to amuse yourself, it's a great read). You order by writing down the dishes you want on a piece of paper, which saves a lot of pointing and poor translation. We went for the cheapest 37.5l wine, which like all the Turkish wine we had was very good. We opted for three mezze and one casserole dish. Foolishly I didn't realised the meat wasn't minced in the one we picked, so was not that keen on that aspect of it but the cheese/bechamel/aubergine part was great, and my friend who does like chunks of meat assured me the whole thing was delicious. We also like the courgette mezze we got although it had too much yoghurt on it, rather drowning the vegetable. The cheese pastry we had was obviously delicious but for me far and away the best dish was a cauliflower mezze which was subtle in flavour, cooked perfectly and one of my favourite things we had in Istanbul. There is actually a corner table on the one end of their terrace that is ideal for parties of 2 (date night? Wink wink) because it allows you a magnificent view on two sides. If you plan to have mains, the cold entrée plate for two maybe a bit too much. For mains we ordered the sea bass and the thai chicken. For dessert we ordered the homemade baklava served with goat milk ice cream. We thought that it was a bit under the mark compared to the entrées and mains. I ought to say one final word about the service. The service was exceptionally well. The servers were very attentive and even offered to change our dessert once they noted that we didn't like it as much as the rest. tl;dr: this is a great restaurant with exceptional service. The food is good but what really stands out is the view and the service. It might be one of the best price/experience quality restaurants in Istanbul. We payed about 260 liras for 2 (only one of us drank a glass of wine)

Headed up on the terrace where the view was amazing ... Could see all of Bosphorus, Bridge, Kiz Kulesi... We were so excited and asked for a table for 6 ( Sunday Noon time). The reply was negative even though there were tables available outside, because we wanted to try coffee and sweets and not have the Brunch they were offering at that time. The only place they could offer was on the inside bar... After some negotiations and not wanting to leave, we suggested to sit somewhere outside on the stand/tables they had. Happy we had the chance to stay... We had our coffee etc and ended with a bottle of wine and some side dishes... I'm sure what we paid was enough to give us a table on the first place... (350tl) And also... 12tl for a cappuccino ?? They should be more reasonable with the prices... Ok, the view is stunning... but service is not... Things could be better for the prices they are asking... I will go there again... as the view and decoration was really nice but would be best if they would reconsider the prices and provide better service...
