I asked a friend if they knew any good Chinese spots and he said to try New Century, I placed an order for sesame chicken and wonton soup. The lady on phone informed me it would take 5-8 minutes and that they take tap and pay. When I arrived my order was all set, everyone working was very nice, the woman who was so generous started grabbing me lots of fortune cookies and letting me know that I can grab anything off table and as much as I want. The restaurant is a clean and very lively with lots of people picking up their orders. Food tasted amazing, chicken was crispy, wontons were to die for; this place rocked my taste buds. Definitely keeping the menu and ordering pickup more often! read more

I got this through grubhub so I can't talk about their service but their food was absolutely delicious and I loved it! I had their wonton soup, crab rangoons, and chicken with garlic sauce. My guest loved the soup, their egg rolls, and their Happy Family. Every single thing was fantastic! I didn't look at the yelp reviews until afterward and was shocked to find such a low rating! We recently ordered food from Cracker Barrel through Uber Eats. Delivery person gave us the wrong order and we got beef tips and some kind of yellow rice from New Century. The rice was horrible, the beef tips tasted ok but it was more bones than meat. Luckily we weren't charged for the food, not worth what they charged the lucky people who didn't get their order. read more

This place is not the same as it used to be. Apparently fried shrimp means shrimp like chips that disguise salad shrimp on a chip. The quality goes lower on the General Tso chicken which is similar to banquet fried chicken with pepper that disguises the quality. I ordered 2 dollars worth of extra chicken with the chicken lomein includes no chicken plus 2 pieces. If the lady was there it would probably be a better quality. Just so disappointed. read more

We have been ordering take out monthly from New Century since about 2006. The food has always been great and we have tried just about everything on the menu. As other reviews have mentioned it is not a fancy place but the ambiance really doesn't matter. The owners are always really nice, to the point that my daughter went to college in 2009 and they still ask about her when I go to pick up our order. Some of the other reviews are confusing to us as they are opposite of our experiences with New Century. My daughter said she agrees with Justin H: the egg rolls are bomb. read more

If this place wasn't so conveniently located on Main St, they'd have gone out of business long ago. They get all the business from the County building next door and the police station across the street. But as for the quality of the food - forget about it! Not only is the mediocre food here LOADED with MSG, but the miser that owns it is as stingy as can be! He keeps the sauce packets behind the counter and asks if you need any, then hands you 2 at the most; he won't dare give any fortune cookies with your order - no matter how large - unless you ask for some, and even then he'll shortchange you a couple; the food is lousy and served in the skimpiest portions; and the whole family is as rude as can be. The final straw came when I began eating a piece of takeout chicken egg foo young from here and suddenly began having trouble breathing. I looked, and instead of chicken in it, there was SHRIMP - which I am severely allergic to! As soon as I was able to breathe again, I drove back there to show it to him and explain how it almost killed me - and he LAUGHED and pretended he didn't understand English! That's funny - a problem arises, and he suddenly doesn't know English, yet he continues taking orders in English just fine! This cheapskate didn't even offer to replace my dish with the correct kind. Well, that was it for me. In Catskill there are 4 Chinese restaurants all within a 1/2 mile radius, so there's no need for anyone to settle for this place. read more

Got the chicken lo mein and tofu beef. Pretty standard takeout Chinese food. The tofu was a little more vinegary than anticipated and the beef was super tender. Sadly, there wasn't a lot of chicken In the other dish. But I really enjoyed the crunchiness of the vegetables in both dishes. read more

I have been ordering delivery from them for many years and have never had an issue. The delivery guy is very nice and courteous and if we haven't ordered in a while he will ask us where we've been....The food is always hot and never has there been an issue with quality. I have a few dishes here that I won't order anywhere else because I like how they make it. Crab Rangoon, Sesame Chicken, Phoenix and Dragon are a few that come to mind. Overall I have been satisfied with their service and quality and will continue to order from them. read more

i checked this place out to see if it was really as bad as everyone on here says it is. i got a few of my usual staples, like sesame chicken, bbq ribs, and beef teriyaki. the store is small and not the cleanest, so i'd suggest getting your food to go, but according to other reviewers it looks like delivery isn't a good way to go. i've never had chinese delivery, always pickup and i always pay in cash and i've never had issues. the guy on the phone who took my order seemed nice and everything was fine when i picked up my order. i tried the sesame chicken lunch special with pork fried rice. it comes with a free soda, which a lot of places don't give you, so who cares if it's an off brand like Bubba Cola? it's free and it almost tastes like pepsi, i don't see a reason to complain about it. now the food on the other hand, the sesame chicken didn't have much flavor. the texture was good but it tasted like the oil they fried it in was dirty. i had that same feeling when i ate the pork eggroll i ordered too. the pork fried rice wasn't that good either, i barely ate any of it. i also tried the BBQ spare ribs. the flavor was good and they were saucier than most chinese ribs i've had, but it had the typical chewy texture to em. the beef teriyaki was ok, nothing to complain about. it seems like a lot of reviewers on here just want to find things to whine about, including MSG, which i think might just be in their heads. read more

The food has tons of msg and tastes less than satisfactory or somewhat box like. The place is old and it seems the owners are trying to keep on running it even though its kinda ugly. Picked up the phone and kept me hanging while serving other customers without any apologies, in fact the lady didn't even tell me to patiently wait, she literally picked up the phone, kept me hanging, then continued to serve someone else like I was supposed to wait for her to serve me, who is serving who??? So congrats for making into my list of The Rudest Service Ever. Food was terrible too, I mean in Johnson city, it's really really hard to find a place with good food at the first place, but even with the Johnson-city-low-standard this place's food is still BAD. THIS PLACE SUCKS ASS!!!!!!1111!! First off they charge you fir everything. $1 Delivery $1 for using your card??? Its 2015 you fucks. I ordered the pepper streak and I kid you not, 85% Peppers and Onions. 15% Steak. Wuddup wit dat?????? Then my worst decesion of all was to give this place a second chance. I ordered the Roast Pork with garlic sauce. This next part gets good. I then proceed to open the container with my meal and I am instantly flabbergasted. Words cannot describe how this made me feel not only emotionally but spiritually. I then immediately without delay, geabbed the phone. I almost called 911 out of just pure lawfull and moral instinct. I told them about their poor performance and they told me theyd give me 10% off my next order. Great now I have to eat this shitty food again!!! After the phone call what else could I do but atleast attempts to consume what I paid for. This next part is the icing on the cake. After reading the reviews on here I have to say what my experience was 2 yrs ago. I placed an order and after it took forever to arrive I called and cancelled it. The women was so fin rude I told her I wanted to speak to her boss. She just kept hanging up on me. I redialed numerous times and same thing. The food is just okay and about average for the area. They charge for delivery however will not even deliver 4 miles from the restaurant. The meals do not come in containers that can be reheated like others in the area. Overall, not as good as others in the area. read more

Food not so great & they also forgot one of the dish''s! Only had 4 all tog. It did take them 40 min as they promised. I of course made 2 mistakes, gave a bigger tip than I should have (no biggie),WITHOUT checking the delivery bag's contents. Big mistake. However, I'm pretty sure I paid for the whole meal already. They don't give u a receipt with your meal! That's a first for me! Another first was peppery shrimp & mixed vegetables. I don't like pepper. :( But shrimp weren't raw, so I give them a pt. there. The place never fills up the order, the food comes half empty and the portions are 10% meat, 50% broccoli and 40% air. The lady on the phone is terrible and has a horrible attitude, they always forget to include the free food that comes with the thresholds of certain prices and then complain when you mention it and say to still tip, but never remember to put the free food.
