The food is decent. It's a bit pricey for what you get but I have eaten here twice. It's okay place to come eat.

Being a foodie I'm always skeptical where I eat especially in a small town but I have to say the food at China One was amazing !! fresh, hot and full of flavor. This place will not disappoint you. I had the udon shrimp stir fry, pan fried dumplings and my husband had the red curry chicken which was also amazing and buttery!! Staff was very friendly and appreciative of the business. The prices for the potions are very fair. Even though there was a misunderstanding on the lo mein (I ordered seafood, but got beef) the food was still very tasty. I called it in, but wasn't far away. This is my favorite Chinese place in town. It doesn't look impressive by any means but the food is great. The lunch buffet is very affordable. The buffet isn't huge but I can always find enough of the things I like on it. It is a lunch buffet though not a dinner buffet. They have the sense to cover stuff up so it doesn't get cold like at other places in town but it is better at lunch time. The takeout is always great! The staff is always friendly. The location is great too. While you are waiting for your food you can go get a few things at the Food Lion, the pharmacy, rent a movie at the Redbox machine, or even get a pizza or something from Dominos if everyone at your house isn't crazy about Chinese food. They have an A rating from health department! Something I always check before eating anywhere. Stopped by on a recommendation. LOVE the food. The garlic sauce is to die for. Everything was fantastic. Even got a take away plate....even reheated the dumplings and shrimp rolls were fabulous! Well worth the drive to Blue Ridge for this. We got carry out from here while on vacation in Blue Ridge. The sesame chicken had too much breading and the sauce was a little too thick. We also ordered the Spicy Mongolian Beef which was definitely better than the chicken dish, but again, the consistency of the sauce was a little too thick. The restaurant was poorly decorated and looked a little dingy - they also had this semi-transparent curtain behind the counter separating the cash register area from the kitchen area that was just weird. It does have a small amount of seating and what looked like a buffet if you want to dine in. I've definitely had better Chinese food, but if you're in the mood for Chinese in Blue Ridge, I've heard this is the best place to go. Maybe the cook was just off that day, but I don't think we'll be back. There are other great places to eat in Blue Ridge. read more

When you need to get your "fix" for Chinese food, much better than Tin Loon's whose food is rather bland. These are the only two restaurants in Blue Ridge where you can get Chinese food. I find it a little bit amusing that people give China one such a poor rating. I get it, they are not a "PF Changs", but for Blue Ridge their food is pretty tasty. And more importantly, their staff is super friendly, and they have reasonable prices. Ms Mei, Who is usually manning the front counter, is very personable and friendly, she does everything she can to make sure that your order is right. Rather than complain, you can catch more flies with honey, and she will often toss in a couple free spring rolls, if you are pleasant and offer a smile back. read more

Recently changed its' name to New China. Fairly typical take out Chinese joint(although there was an odd smell to the place). Not bad but unexceptional. The lettuce wraps were surprisingly good. The rest, simply average, which, in an area without many Asian options is an altogether acceptable thing. read more

We've picked up to-go dinner from here recently. This is what I consider old-school Chinese. The wonton soup had big fat wontons and broth wi/a little scallion - very good. The steamed dumplings as an appetizer also very tasty, very fresh. The two chicken dishes had tons of fresh vegetables in them; the dinner portions were huge definitely recommend giving this place a try. The take-out order was ready superfast. read more

After checking out reviews online, my husband and I decided to drive 40 miles to have lunch in Blue Ridge. We checked out the buffet, but decided to order from the menu. Be careful what you're ordering!!!! My husband ordered shrimp and Chinese vegetables, I ordered cashew chicken. Our intent was to order the lunch portions. We evidently didn't understand what we were ordering because we ended up with the Combo. When our food came, we got 2 egg rolls, large bowls of soup, and the entrees. It was a great amount of food. Egg rolls were good, soup was average (but did have huge wontons in it). My chicken dish was good, but my husband was disappointed in the shrimp dish. It had 6 large shrimp, but nothing else but bok choy. We expected snow peas, carrots, maybe baby corn.. but got nothing but the cabbage. When I went up to pay, the owner told me it was $27.00! We were charged 8.50 for the combos (not the 6.25 we were expecting for the lunch), but then she charged separately for the soup which should have been included in the combo price. I told her that wasn't what we thought we were getting, but she began explaining how everything came and what everything cost. Very confusing! While we were eating, a young woman had come in to pick up a take out order. Don't know exactly what the problem was, but she and the owner got into quite a heated discussion about the size of whatever the lady ordered, and what it cost. The young lady left angry. After witnessing that, I knew there was no value in arguing with her. So, $27.00 and an 80 mile round trip later, we left very frustrated. We won't be back. read more

Went in for a meal to go, he said 10 mins. I watched the time it came compared to the time on the receipt when I ordered it. Was 30 minutes for greasy poor quality food that was so awful that I'm pretty sure a homeless dog wouldn't eat. The fried rice was Mexican rice, which left us puzzled. Somehow even the fortune cookies were disgusting too. Won't give them another try and this was my first time trying them. read more

We ate here on Christmas Day. As a large party of five we had a wide variety of dishes. This is absolutely one of the best Chinese food experience. The owner was attentive and friendly. We completely enjoyed our dinner here and would highly recommend it. read more

Don't let appearances deceive you regarding location or decor- China 1 is a great place! The owner and cooks are very nice, and their food always tastes very fresh! I love the variety of vegetables that they use in their dishes, and how quick the food is prepared. It's also very convenient to do some light shopping at Food Lion while waiting. Buffet looked picked over and rice dry at 2:00 pm. But buffet main dishes were quite good. Combos ordered off the menu were excellent. Bowls and silverware for buffet were hit or miss in terms of cleanliness. Overall the dining area seemed like it needed a thorough cleaning and some remodeling.
