2 stars are given because while there is significant potential for UUFBR to be a force for good in…read morethe community, it unfortunately is greatly under-performing in practice. There are many good people there working hard to make the world a better place and it is sad that hypocrisy from those who have influence over the church threatens the credibility of those working under the UUFBR name as well as associated disruptions impeding progress. While this review serves as a warning to those considering becoming involved with UUFBR, the overall objective of this review is to call out the underlying issues so that corrective action can be taken to address them. This review will focus on a specific case that shows how UUFBR is not only failing to live up to its purported values but at times acting in direct contradiction to them. The case involved a woman making a stereotypical and disqualifying claim about a man who had just advised he was moving on from her. No basis was provided for the woman's claim, yet UUFBR leadership jumped to her side and effectively ex-communicated the man while refusing to provide any semblance of due process, directly contradicting the UU value of Justice. Next, as part of their weekly covenant, all congregants pledge to "seek the truth in love", yet this man was told that evidence he could provide showing that prior interaction had been mutual and reciprocal was "irrelevant". He was told that sources who could verify the woman going out of her way to individually seek him out for contact "wouldn't matter". And his request for an investigation to be performed was denied with him being advised that nothing would change regardless. Additionally, while there is lots of talk about gender rights and gender equality, there was clear gender-discrimination here violating the UU value of Equity. Quite simply, if the genders had been reversed, no action would have been taken. More specifically, the claim played on tropes about men using trigger words that had no substance behind them. While claims of this nature should be taken seriously that should involve investigation / verification not automatic acceptance. Further, while there is lots of talk at UUFBR about how wrong it is for ICE to disappear people, this man's disappearance from the congregation was coerced with the threat of "calling authorities" (in conjunction with the false claim) held over him if he were to return. And this is not the first time a man who dared to speak against favored political views was pushed out using tactics like this. Finally, yes, it seems apparent that the circumstance was used to force a target out, making it likely the woman was encouraged to take this action with it also being possible that the conflict was actually instigated for this purpose. This is evident from the fact that all actions worked to push the man away and at no point was there any attempt to find a resolution to the conflict or find a way that the two parties could coexist in the congregation peacefully. It is a gross failure on the part of UUFBR leadership to not support both individuals through a difficult time for a productive resolution here, and shameful to see such a moral failing for what is claimed to be a religious organization. The Congregation must reclaim the power given to it by the following passage in UUFBR's bylaws: "Ultimate authority for the governance of the Fellowship rests in the Congregation". It must demand a transparent investigation into what happened here as well as an open review into other church discipline. The images linked to below provide high-level evidence of the problem, but all evidence should be made available to members - with only personally-identifiable info redacted. Individuals involved must be allowed to be heard (via writing anonymously or live in person). Further, the People must demand that no church discipline can be finalized without their approval. If the church chooses to still use lawfare to target political dissidents at least this being done openly allows those with integrity to see and leave. It is of real substance in that it is all accepting with a real mission of love as displayed in their never ending efforts toward helping people. For example, though a separate organization, Sunshine Cathedral has been the inspiration behind SunServe as located on The Drive in Wilton Manor. They also maintain and operate the Sunshine Columbarium, set up all sorts of activities including cruises, progressive diners, restaurant dining and so much more. Of course one of the matters important to me is that the Sunshine Cathedral is a totally gay accepting church, and from merely looking around, I might even venture to say predominately gay. I went here to attend the Gay Men's Chorus, which was totally amazing. I really can't help comparing the voices I heard with those of angels. Yes, they were that good, and yes, the décor and setup within the church was like that of a Broadway Show. So not only for their Sunday services, but for all of the good they actually accomplish, they get my Five Stars.

There is plenty of seating for people with younger kids and larger families in the overflow room. I look forward to visiting this church again as we are looking for a new home church. Sunday mass times are from 7am-1pm and weekdays Monday to Friday at 9am and 6pm on Wednesday. I am going to try and make a service tonight.

This Catholic church is named for Elizabeth Ann Bayley Seton (August 28, 1774 - January 4, 1821)…read morewho was the first person born in the future United States to be canonized by the Roman Catholic Church. After her husband died of yellow fever, Elizabeth converted to Catholicism after being introduced to it by her late husbands business partners who were from Italy and who took her and her children in. Elizabeth opened an academy for young ladies but most of the parents withdrew their students when they found out about her conversion. She was about to move to Canada when a visiting priest offered to help her establish a school in Maryland. Elizabeth accepted and cared for the children of the poor and she became known as Mother Seton. She died at the age of 46 but many schools have been named after her including Seton Hall University in New Jersey. Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic church began in 1985, on the 10th anniversary of the canonization of it's patron saint, by offering service at Ramblewood Middle School. After a steady turn out that grew, two years later church began a building fund drive. In 1988, ground was broken on a new building. Archbishop Edward McCarthy dedicated the new building on June 11. 1989. At this time the parish had grown to over 2,200 families and a preschool was established. Ground breaking for the second phase of parish development began in the Fall of 1999. The church is now led by Father Mike Kelly. Mass times can be found on the church website. I came by the church for a Saturday morning rummage and craft sale. This church is very beautiful with a lot of outside fountains, statues, and landscaping. The rummage sale was cash only and they sold home goods, art, ceramics, books, toys, but no clothes. The craft sale was held inside the parish hall. I was surprised by how large it is. They had a lot of vendors that I have never seen anywhere else. Items included religious items. baked goods, bags, accessories, soap, blankets, and home decor. The church also sold food and had a raffle sale. I had never been to this church before so I enjoyed my visit. I love the stained glass of Catholic churches. I hope to see the sanctuary some day.
