We attended, served, and tithed to the church during that time. Kevin Myers was the senior pastor, and his sermons tended to be relational and application-based rather than an examination of Scripture. I read and study the Bible independently, so it was not a reason to find another church. God did speak to me in many of his sermons. We attended small groups through the church and eventually served as small-group leaders and other service areas within the church. Our son was born in 2006 and has loved and looked forward to attending the youth ministry services and retreats. I am self-employed, and in 2024, my business suffered a devastating event that impacted my ability to support my family financially. I woke up one morning and cried out to God, asking Him what I should do. My immediate thought was to call the church. I spoke with the pastor on-call (it was literally his first time in the position and his first call), and he took my information, saying someone would reach out to me. Ultimately, I received a few texts from an associate pastor asking me how I was doing and a coupon for three free counseling sessions. Is that what Jesus would do? No, He would have shown up at my house, embraced me, and told me He loved me and would walk with me through this challenging period. I sent a letter to the founding pastor, Kevin Myers, detailing my situation and asking for prayer. I did not ask for financial support. I did not receive a response or as much as a postcard from him. We decided to leave the church, but my son loved the high school ministry (H12), and he continued to attend on Wednesdays throughout his four years of high school. On Wednesday of this week, my son, who has developmental challenges, was lured away from our home in the middle of the night by a 47-year-old man with the promise of free rent, food, and transportation. He would not allow my son to divulge his location, convincing him that we are unsafe parents. We were crushed and devastated at the potential danger that our son was in. We played along with this man, and he drove my son to our home and waited outside under the guise that my son was coming to pack his belongings Saturday afternoon. On Friday, we hurriedly organized an intervention for my son by having all our extended family, friends, and others to persuade our son to stay and not leave with this man. I called my son's youth pastor, Jacob Bartlett, to participate in the intervention. I left two voicemails telling him we had an emergency regarding my son and to please call me. I received no response. Fortunately, we persuaded our son to stay and not leave with this man. I regret the time and financial investment we made in 12Stone for my family and me. Years ago, during one of Kevin Myers' tithing sermons, he said that if anyone didn't believe in tithing, the church would give them their money back. I want the church to return my money, but I doubt they will honor my request to write a six-figure check. If you are considering 12Stone, ask yourself one question: Are they a church that will nurture and support your spiritual growth and that of your family, or a mix of religion and a tax-free corporation with a workforce that is primarily comprised of volunteers?

The main campus is in Lawrenceville. They also offer your family free Starbucks coffee which was so very sweet. The praise team was very joyful and sang like angels. The musicians are talented and upbeat! This is a remote location that tunes into the pastor on the main campus. It's so enjoyable to fellowship amongst your neighbors and love God! I brought my 9 month old baby and they offered a beautiful nursery and they even have private nursing rooms! There are also living rooms and tvs were you can tune in to the service if your child is a bit disruptive. Everyone continually greeted my family and the smiles and warmth were palpable. The praise team, pastor and environment was perfect! I will be coming back for more of the word. God bless this church indeed.

My family and I attended Victory Church Hamilton for the very first time this past Sunday, and…read moreunfortunately, our experience left us deeply disappointed and hurt. When we first arrived, an usher directed our family several rows toward the back of the church, even though there were many open seats available closer to the front. I did not understand why, but we went along with it and tried to enjoy the service. The message itself was powerful. The guest pastor from Midtown had an amazing testimony, and the congregation was very engaged in worship. My family and I were enjoying the service, praising God together. I had my two-year-old son sitting on my leg clapping his hands while I bounced him gently during worship, just as many others around us were clapping and engaged in the service. Without warning, an usher approached me during the middle of service and asked my family to leave because my son was "making noise." I was shocked and embarrassed. My entire family immediately got up and walked out in the middle of service. As we were leaving, I asked the usher to speak with me because I genuinely wanted to understand why he felt the need to remove us. I explained that my son was not disrupting the service -- we were simply worshipping together as a family like everyone else around us. The usher responded by saying he had "been watching us," which honestly made the situation even more upsetting. Not only did I feel unfairly singled out, but I also felt harassed while trying to worship. I then spoke with someone from the children's ministry, and she informed me that children are not allowed in the sanctuary and that it is a church rule. I was honestly floored. I was raised in church. My father is a pastor, and my grandfather was as well, and I have never in my life heard of a church telling parents they cannot have their children in the sanctuary if they choose not to use children's church. That realization was more disappointing than anything else. It saddens me that some churches become so focused on policies and procedures that they forget what Jesus stood for. Families should feel welcomed in the house of God, not monitored, embarrassed, or removed for worshipping together. Thankfully, I have been around enough healthy ministries to know this experience is not representative of every church. However, I cannot help but think about people who are genuinely searching for a church home. Experiences like this can discourage people from returning to church altogether. What also concerns me is that after leaving, I found another review online describing a similar experience involving members feeling "watched" during service. That should be alarming and addressed immediately. I truly hope this message reaches leadership and does not get lost before making it to the lead pastor. My intention in writing this is not simply to complain, but to encourage reflection on how families and first-time visitors are treated. No family should leave a church service feeling humiliated for trying to worship together. This experience was deeply hurtful for my family, and I sincerely hope changes are made so that others do not walk away feeling the same way we did.

But when my family and I walk in today the door the usher immediately set us in the back and move a rope to seat in that roll because my son was holding a one year old. His 12 year old stated that she felt that the usher kept watching them. On leaving, the usher confronted my son (the father and stated the his son was disruptive and was making noise doing the service which was untrue. I was sitting there. He told my son that he could sit in the cafeteria with child . We have been in the church all our live and my father, husband and grandfather were pastors. We also understand if a child cries or makes noise to take them out. But if a child claps his claps his hands and sings that is not a reason to leave the service. Every child is not use to the child care especially the very first time. This rule there at Victory Hamilton Mill should be displayed because the spoiled our experience there!

Adult sunday school classes are available for every age and walk of life. Wednesday evenings are also busy for this church. Volunteers arrive Wednesday morning and begin cooking supper for the evening. Multiple classes and activities for parents, youth, and children are available as well. The church offers Financial Peace University, multiple topical studies, a food pantry to feed the needy in the community every Saturday morning, and more. The church is also involved in a lot of missions, both foreign and domestic. The church is extremely open and inviting with friendly people and a kind staff. I love that this is my church home.
