Dear M. Gauthier, I just received my newly-reborn Hardy coat which I had bought over 25 years ago at Harrods in London. It was a faithful friend and sorely needed rewaxing. I inquired at the Barbour shop in NYC and they said they only rewaxed their own jackets. And then a minor miracle happened. While going through some old files I came across your folder and bag for shipping a jacket to your facility. Phenomenal service from start to finish. I did a fairly good overhaul of a limited edition Barbour x Liberty jacket from deep cleaning to cuff repair (after sourcing the fabric myself). The jacket looks brand new & there is zero smell (after I unsuccessfully soaked it in vinegar, per the manufacturer). Alain is wonderfully helpful and excellent at keeping you apprised of the process. Believe me when I say it is worth paying the extra for New England reproofers to wax your jacket rather than go through Barbour's in-house service... the quality of service is night and day. read more

My experience was amazing! After getting my Barbour Beadnell jacket rewaxed by Barbour (which cost ~$80), it started falling apart. Barbour quoted ~$500 to repair it (a $450 jacket!). I tried to find a way to fix it myself, but it was just too much work for a mediocre seamstress like me. I found New England Reproofers online and decided to email them. Alain and his team were so helpful and explained that my jacket was dry rotted and had much more damaged than I realized. They told me to send it in and they would give me an estimate for repairs with no obligations. They only charged me $100 (including shipping) which was so reasonable, especially compared to the other quote. I received the jacket within a couple week of payment and it looks phenomenal. They mended all of the rips and tears and I think they even rewaxed it because it looks brand new. The patched areas blend almost invisibly with the rest. Grading A-ok but in shock at the estimate rec'd to both clean and recoat a M's waxed cotton jacket....It's a Woolrich garment not a Barbour although I do own one of those and have used Barrbour services in the past...(Barbour does not refurbish non-Brabour products) Just seems to me that $145.00 is one helluva lot a money to clean and re-coat a garment. Maybe someone here in this community would care to re-school me on the subject. Seeking options... read more
