Very Poor Experience - Academy Mortgage was recommended to…read moreme to refi my current mortgage, unfortunately the process took far to long to complete i started the process in November of 2017 and I signed the papers in June of 2018. I asked to have money back to pay off credit cards, I received about 1/2. Prior to closing this loan I changed home owners insurance companies. I notified Academy Mortgage and at signing it had not been changed, I brought it up to the individual that was working with me and they stated "it's probably a typo, I will let them know to make sure it gets changed", well guess where my home owners check went to? My prior insurance company, which I figured out when I received a cancellation notice from my new company. I had to upfront the money until we could get that situation figured out. One year later, June 2019, I receive another cancellation in the mail from my home owners insurance, imagine my surprise when that is part of my escrow. I contacted Academy Mortgage and the response I received was less than helpful, so yet again I had to upfront my payment to make sure there was no interruption in my home owners insurance. Jason Ball's email stated that he would see what happened, that was 6/27/19, I have heard nothing back from him, except an automated email yesterday to my home email asking how I was doing. A little to late.
