One of the main reasons I rarely go here now is the parking situation. At the weekend it is a nightmare with cars double parked just beside a busy roundabout where the lucky star sits. Food is nice but no where the best in area but it has been there a long time and is still busy so they must be doing something right. Their chips are really good and I always get some when I go here. We got: spicy salty chips which are a must, they have fresh onions, peppers, and a whole lotta salt and spice mixed in which make them up there with the best chips around, they do however live up to their name and you can definitely taste the salt. Golden triangles which are delicious pastry, similar to that of a spring roll, stuffed with curried chicken, very tasty. Sweet and sour ribs which were incredibly succulent and saucy without be flooded with sauce. Spicy salted popcorn chicken, in essence exactly the same as the chips but the battered chicken balls make them irresistible even though they are so similar to the chips. We topped this off with a chicken curry which was not quite as good as the Kwang Tungs but it gives it a run for it money. It was quite spicy but I've no problems with that. All in all this cost us £20.00 which was not bad. However it was so much we had it for dinner the next night.

They deal with big parties profesionally with no reduction on meal quality. and no reduction in service if your not part of the big crowd. people say, its a bit cheesy 80's looking inside, "(so locals say, don't stop them going there though) but i like it, and eat there as often as i can. Even the waiting area for takeaway. is a pleasure to sit in. Its been the top place in rutherglen for chinese food for many years, i hope it holds its crown for many more.

It is a bit spendy (my sense of how spendy it is isn't very good, since I'm an American and despite knowing that it's about $1.3 to a pound, I still read "£14" and think "hey, only $14!". Situated in a tiny unit on Byres Road, the Chinese restaurant makes use of every inch of space to cram in as many people as possible, both on the bottom floor and the small mezzanine level. The reasonably priced menu is extensive but I'm afraid my stubbornness when it comes to the ordering of Chinese foods means I'm only in a position to recommend my old faithfuls, hot and sour soup and chicken chow mein, both of which are excellent in here. In actual fact, this could almost have been a five star review but there's no getting away from the abruptness of some staff members, which I find to be an all too common occurrence. I really shouldn't come back, but unfortunately the food is just too damn good.
