I was debating whether or not I was going to post a review for this church, because of the nuance…read moreof my personal situation. But I want to get it out there. I attended Mill City for a couple of years, and I think the church has many good people attending it and I've made many great connections through it. However, there's been what feels like a culture shift. It's difficult to completely put what I'm feeling into words, but I'll do my best here. With the move to a new building, I felt a shift in priorities. A lot of effort to look the part and have the "right" things a church should have, but the consequence is that I think the people of the church have fallen by the wayside. Even though the church will sometimes preach about the idea of grace and not earning your way to salvation, in practice, I think they paint a different picture. There has been so much emphasis on doing and action, and it lead me personally to extreme burnout. Between weekly practices, frequent calls to giving, and small groups, there is a sense that I felt that the church was always asking for everyone to "do a little more". For some examples, a member may be attending a city group, but they keep asking for a member to lead a city group. Or that member should join a class. But while in the class, they'll emphasize the next class, and the next action, and the next thing to be a part of, and the next serving opportunity. I think they've lost the point a bit. Sure, there'll be a sermon about sabbath, but there will still be a whisper behind you - "do a little more". All that is it's own thing. But then I had a conversation with someone in leadership about my perspective. The conversation itself went fine, but days after, I had a chilling feeling in my spirit. And looking back on the conversation, I feel undertones of emotional manipulation. It feels very. . . weird. All that to say, I've seen the church to good work, and I've met many good people there. But if you decide to attend this church, my advise would be to keep your guard up if they continually ask more from you. I would've given higher stars, but I can't shake the "off" feeling I have about my experience.

This "Christian" woman was bad mouthing me to her companions, she seemed upset I was attending in public. I never did anything to hurt her. I never did anything to hurt anyone, I was ignored for the years that I went to Rocky, people were not friendly. They just want more rich people to feed into their 'hire my friends and family', ( Nepotism)from the top. I'm not sure if there are any Christians there, that's for God to judge. I do NOT recommend this Church unless you're planning on giving lots of $$$$ or you're friends or family of Grand Poobahs. You may find peace but not at RMCC.

We finally found Redeemer Lutheran Church and felt that we found the church that we belonged to from our first visit. My wife was happy and the kids love everything about it. You really get the sense of belonging. I haven't been a big church going in my life and I can tell you that I really enjoy going to church here. It is the pastors, staff and the people that make it special. Being with the family, I didn't see much of the actual church except for the main entrance area, crying room, and the alter. Being new, I kindly asked a suited gentlemen that may have had a name tag on (I'm a bit unsure) where the kid friendly room was and we were then escorted by a young parishioner. How accommodating. The room is seemingly well isolated from the rest of the church which can be a good thing when your kids can get a little crazy. Not a huge room but definitely works. I'd recommend getting there early to secure a spot. It was packed when we got there right on the dot. As for the lobby area, they have a manned front desk/information area which is awesome. A hall is attached to main entrance and easily located. I also loved the religious goods store that was open during mass. One of the other churches I went to had their store closed during mass to prevent people from spending "mass time" browsing. I, on the other hand, loved it because the baby was cranky so I carried her as I looked through their goodies. Their bathrooms are descent but I assume the ladies restroom can get a little crowded after mass or during events. The staff that I encountered were very nice and the decor isn't too dated but then again I'm not one to judge a church by their cosmetic appearance. I plan to come back this coming Sunday for Easter and get more acquainted with St. John.

I visited here for 5 p.m. Mass on the first week of Advent and the trees outside were all perfect and lit up for Christmas. When I'm visiting Longmont I prefer this Catholic church to another Catholic church I've been to (I think it's Light of Christ - it was in the weird late 60s round buildings on Hover) since that one was way too conservative. The officiant was from Uganda and was pretty good; however, the homily was pretty forgettable. (Also, unlike a few foreign-born priests I've had elsewhere he was totally understandable.) The Mass was a quick one - about 52 minutes. (So it's a good one to go to if you don't want to miss a football game.)

So happy to call Flatirons Longmont aka "The Mont" our church home! I love that this campus has a…read moresmall church feel while also having the opportunity to receive amazing sermons each week from the main campus. It's the best of both worlds. The staff and volunteers are so welcoming. Our kids love the youth group and have made some lasting friendships. The men's and women's Connect ministries are a great way to build community. 10 out of 10 fully recommend if you are looking for a church home.

We have a very socially minded and family centered church that reaches out to the homeless, orphaned, needy, sick, young, old, and those in between. We have given over $100k to World Hunger, contributed to building Habitat homes in Loveland, Colorado, and Somoto, Nicaragua, restored homes in Greenville, KS, and have an amazing pre-school.
