Happened upon them on our way home. We are tired of interstates so taking the roads less traveled. Currently they are hampered by road construction but are still accessible. We felt welcome as soon as we walked in. Server was spot on with coffee and taking our order. Food was hot and delicious! Will definitely go back on our next trip through! read more

Probably the worst hot dog in a coney I've ever had. The skinless dog itself was pure mush, like it had been boiled for a couple of hours. Also a coney comes w mustard on it, otherwise it's a chili dog. The chili fries however were very good, crispy fries w the perfect amount of chili on them. read more

Stopped in for the first time. Got here about 11:30-ish am and the little place is full, so we sat at the counter. Customers seem happy. staff are busy and moving, seem to help others and work together well!!! Phone orders are pouring in! We are still in COVID times, so I wish staff would wear masks, but no staff are. They aren't sanitizing hands (lots of touching things). One staff member wiped her face down (including mouth area) and then grabbed the coffee filter and grabbing plates/bowls for soup and she just put her finger in her mouth and then picked up plates to deliver. ‍. We told another waitress about this - we'll see what happens. Okay, heard the waitress calling the offender back and clearly spoke with her because she just washed her hands (for about five seconds). This would be gross- even before. Im so glad this NOT my waitress, cause I would have walked out. I don't know if this is common practice, it cooks are placing the paper checks ON the food. ‍ Also, wait staff is bussing tables, clearing DIRTY plates, and NOT washing hands before handling clean plates/ serving customers. If wasn't for the fact that I'm traveling with a diabetic who HAD to eat, I would have left this establishment. It seems the locals like this place and the food was good, but there seems to be importance in hygiene - and for that reason, I will not come back. And that's a shame. I would have given this place 5 stars for the food and atmosphere- but hygiene is critical. Our waitress was Becky and she was great. read more

Found this little gem and it's the ONLY place we go to for breakfast. Food is spot on, staff works hard. They are pretty busy all morning and you'd never kmow it. They are friendly and down to earth. I feel like I'm up north where people know one another. read more

It's good but the onions used on coneys are can microscopic onions it ruins the whole taste ...Put 99cent aspect to shame.

A friend RAVES about the FISH dinner/combo in this restaurant that he says is far better than any coney restaurants he's ever been so I trekked nearly TWENTY miles one day and met him there for lunch. Boy was he right! Granted the fish is just as oily as in any other restaurants but man it is GOOD! I always say that the "hole in the wall"/"mom's and pop's" restaurant are better because of their more "personalized" service "close to home" cooking and this restaurant is no exception. I WILL be back. As a matter of fact I will make it a point to try to eat fish here at least every other Friday come lent season. ;?) HIGHLY recommended. read more

This place is a true Gem. Probably the only restaurant that's worth stopping to in my little town. I love this place because the servers are always nice (wait-except the tall blonde)--the food is consistent and it's fair value. I come here for breakfast on weekends and dinner whenever I'm not in the mood to cook. The roasted chicken is very good. I'd skip the broasted potatoes though as they aren't what you'd expect. My favorite breakfast is the biscuit and gravy not a homemade style biscuit and gravy but it is good. They have great navy bean soup and always have lunch specials. Lunch sandwiches are good for what you pay and I honestly like the home town diner feel to this place. They have barstool seating when you're just coming in for a quick bite and larger tables when you bring the family. The staff is always cleaning, though you may find them munching on food right in front of you but that doesn't bother me so much. This place gets pretty busy because it's in my opinion the best restaurant within a 10 mile radius. read more

This is a really great old school type diner. The servers are friendly and fast. They have great breakfasts, my husband loves to get the trucker special which has a little bit of everything. I normally get one of their omlets. For lunch or dinner I get the tuna melt pretty often because it's delicious. Prices are very affordable too. read more

Don't let the name of "Coney Island" scare you off. This is a classic, rural, everybody is family, diner!! Classic rural dinner food, great prices, and very fast and friendly service. Burgers are good and portions are very well sized. Chili cheese fries for only $3.95 are so large they can easily be split amongst two people. We will certainly be back!!! read more
