Stopped in for the first time. Got here about 11:30-ish am and the little place is full, so we sat at the counter. Customers seem happy. staff are busy and moving, seem to help others and work together well!!! Phone orders are pouring in! We are still in COVID times, so I wish staff would wear masks, but no staff are. They aren't sanitizing hands (lots of touching things). One staff member wiped her face down (including mouth area) and then grabbed the coffee filter and grabbing plates/bowls for soup and she just put her finger in her mouth and then picked up plates to deliver. ‍. We told another waitress about this - we'll see what happens. Okay, heard the waitress calling the offender back and clearly spoke with her because she just washed her hands (for about five seconds). This would be gross- even before. Im so glad this NOT my waitress, cause I would have walked out. I don't know if this is common practice, it cooks are placing the paper checks ON the food. ‍ Also, wait staff is bussing tables, clearing DIRTY plates, and NOT washing hands before handling clean plates/ serving customers. If wasn't for the fact that I'm traveling with a diabetic who HAD to eat, I would have left this establishment. It seems the locals like this place and the food was good, but there seems to be importance in hygiene - and for that reason, I will not come back. And that's a shame. I would have given this place 5 stars for the food and atmosphere- but hygiene is critical. Our waitress was Becky and she was great.

Food-wise, it was a mixed bag but mostly good. I ordered a chicken wrap and that was the miss for me. The chicken was kind of shredded and just not great, so I wouldn't order that again. My son got the donut waffle which was fine, but the real standout for the kids was the pancakes. Three big, fluffy pancakes on the kids plate and they were legit good. The fruit sides were excellent too. Fresh berries, not sad afterthought fruit. My husband's omelet looked amazing and made me realize I probably should've stuck with more classic breakfast food instead of a lunch item. Service was friendly and patient. It was a little slow, but it was a busy Saturday morning and it looked like our waitress was covering a whole section by herself. Getting the bill took a bit, but it felt more like opening growing pains than bad service. Overall, great atmosphere, solid breakfast options, and a place I'd totally return to. Next time I'm going full breakfast menu and skipping the wrap for sure.

The portion sizes were huge and we both ended up with large amounts to take home. I also ordered a morning Spritz which was gin, raspberry smash and sparkling wine. It was ok. But I would go with a traditional mimosa next time. I joined the loyalty program as well. We really loved it here and will definitely be back!

I love visiting tea rooms wherever I travel, and this one is truly special. The scones were some of the best I've ever had, I was thrilled to learn they even ship them to Las Vegas because I'll definitely be ordering more! The cucumber sandwiches were absolutely divine. I could have eaten ten of them. We also enjoyed the Queen's Greens Salad, which was as colorful as it was fresh and flavorful. Our tea selections were wonderful. The chamomile with vanilla and honey was soothing and fragrant, while the Paris black tea with its hint of caramel was rich, smooth, and absolutely delicious. What made the experience even more memorable was the warm, welcoming service. The staff made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. The tea room itself is simply charming--a beautiful Victorian home built in 1875, overlooking the water, with so much character and charm. If you're looking for a truly delightful afternoon tea experience, I can't recommend The Pink House Tea Room enough. It was one of the highlights of my trip, and I can't wait to come back!

We made online reservations several weeks in advance, as the afternoon tea service is very popular on the weekends. They only have a few parking spaces, but there is a public lot across from Lake St Clair beach park. The signature tea service includes a selection of their house made scones (what they are known for), cucumber tea sandwiches, choice of tea (hot or iced) and one entree selection (quiche, frittata, or chicken salad). The chicken salad was some of the best I have ever had. We even asked if they would share the secret recipe. I thought it was odd that they do not include little pastries/desserts but I guess they consider the scones as the sugar fix? Service was really gracious and the atmosphere is perfect. There were all kinds of celebrations going on and loved all the dressed up groups of "fancy" ladies.

The ambiance is definitely nice -- it's the kind of place you'd want to sit in, study at, or hang out for a while. But once you actually get to the food and drinks, it's a different story. The service was okay. Everyone was friendly, but it took way too long for my order to come out -- especially considering all I got was avocado toast. And when it finally arrived, it was the blandest avocado toast I've ever had in my life. Zero flavor, no seasoning, nothing special about it at all. Their matcha was honestly bad, just not good at all. The boba was probably the best thing I had, and their coffee was just alright -- nothing worth going out of your way for. Overall, TAP Café feels way overhyped. The vibe is cool, the space is cute, but the food and drinks just don't live up to the aesthetic. If you're going for Instagram pictures or a chill place to sit, it works. If you're going for flavor or quality, it's disappointing.

They have a bunch of cute outdoor seating, so we asked to sit out there. Rachel was our server and she was great - very friendly and attentive! I ordered the Avocado Scramble, but I made a couple of modifications. Unfortunately they forgot to address them, but Rachel took care of that right away and the dish was very good. My wife had the Eggs Benedict, her favorite breakfast dish. She said it was very good and she particularly liked the potatoes that came with it. One final note (and this was not reflected in my rating): the seating in the outdoor section is pretty tight and a couple with a large dog was seated next to us. I'm not a big fan of people bringing dogs to restaurants, but if they are well behaved, I can deal with it. Unfortunately, at one point this dog got excited by a dog coming by on the sidewalk and jumped up and started barking at the others dog, just inches away from me. It was quite startling and its owner was not particularly apologetic. With such a confined space, I think this establishment may want to reconsider whether it allows dogs in their outdoor seating area.
