I personally have always enjoyed everything that they've prepared for Me here and I've always appreciated the Pleasant Attitude that they convey to all of their customers. While not a delivery kind of place, which is slightly odd, they are a very solid choice for calling ahead and picking up or just showing up and dining in. Food was typical Chinese cuisine that was well prepared and served hot. It was ready when I arrived at the restaurant to pick it up. They had utensils and napkins in the bag. I guess that not too many people ask for chopsticks because I had to ask for them but that was the only thing negative about the entire experience if you consider that negative. This 4 stars rating is given for reasons not limited to the food. This was the night when mother nature decided to dump a ton of snow on the area forcing towed closures all over. I weaved my way trying in vain to find a way home just like thousands of other people. Finally I had to stop. And there it was, this lifesaver of a place. I parked, scurried inside, order beef chow fun (surprisingly it's on the menu), enjoyed, chatted with fellow travelers who were doing the same, and moved on. One doesn't expect real beef chow fun outside Chinatown of any cities. This place made a decently good one. I love this place and staff who work there!!! They are too friendly and I am grateful to have these folks right around the corner! For COVID, they made a safe way to walk up window and safe way to trade money. You confirm payment over the phone and they give you your change in your bag in a little bag separate from your food and not just loose in your bag of food! They changed their hours to accommodate dinner rush, so they only open from 3pm-8pm. It's logical since most surrounding offices are closed so lunch rush isn't such a rush. Their food still spot on and they're so cute with this new walk up window, still customer accommodating and a happy vibe even during this crappy time! The quality of the food has dropped down a little but it depends on the dish. Honestly, their pork fried rice is one of the better ones... not greasy. Love their chicken and broccoli in white sauce... their mai fun and chow fun noodles and egg drop soup are worth it! My boyfriend and I love this place. The service is awesome, the people are so kind and friendly. It's much further from us now so we don't get to enjoy it as much but seriously try this place out without looking at the bad reviews. The food is some of the best in the area for take-out. If you are looking for gourmet then of course you will be disappointed. The taste is spot on, I've never been disappointed coming here. I don't understand the 4 and 5 star ratings. I ordered food from New Horizon because of these high ratings. Worst. Chinese. Food. Ever. Both my husband and I ordered different dishes and we ended up throwing them in the trash. Mine was chicken with garlic sauce. It was supposed to be spicy - not even a little. The vegetables were overcooked and mushy, no flavor and rice was overcooked. My husband ordered roast pork lo mein, egg roll and wonton soup. He held up the egg roll and said, "Watch this." He then proceeded to squeeze the egg roll and you could see how soggy and mushy it was. Egg rolls should be crisp! The wonton soup had no flavor and the roast pork lo mein was inedible. For those who are not interested in reading long reviews, here's a synopsis of my essay below: this place is a great Chinese take-out, with more than reasonable prices. Complainers will always complain. This is the best Chinese take-out in Randolph, by far. I've been eating here for over 10 years, and I have never had a bad experience. The people who work here are genuinely friendly and sincere, and they treat their customers exceptionally well. Their prices are very good, compared to other Randolph Chinese take-outs. They serve Chinese take-out, which is Americanized Chinese food, in these parts. If you don't like that, and want to eat at an authentic Chinese restaurant, go somewhere else (Parsippany, East Hanover, Edison, or NY Chinatown). People who complain about prices and authenticity really annoy me. If you want something even cheaper than what they offer, go next door to McDonald's and order from the dollar menu. If you can't afford $6 for a plate of food, you probably should go buy groceries from the supermarket and cook your own. As for the lack of "atmosphere" or "ambience", it's a Chinese take-out, not PF Chang's. You want atmosphere and ambience, there's a Ruth's Chris in Parsippany, or may I suggest the Chart House in Weehawken. Hopefully you're not the same person who can't afford $6 for a plate of food, because your $6 can't buy you a glass of water at Ruth's Chris.
