Still havnt recieved a call back ...i really feel as if they dont even really listen to people nor care about their patients they are very short and mis interpret everything because they do not listen. The therapist is nice but clearly didnt listen to word that was said. As do alot of the employees there. They said my daughter cuts herself ongoing yet there is not a mark on her body and stated im okay with it....i got her therapy so she can feel better about herself not so you guys can lie and make stuff up so you can make more money for it. My dauhhter has a phone addiction thats the issue not cutting. She would become aggressive when i would take the phone away. She would also want to miss school so she could stay on the phone. I dont know how anyone got cutting from that she wasnt even attending for that she weared shortsleeves for godsakes. Also if you were so concerned then why dont you people return phone calls so unprofessional... i really just feel like they thought it was going to be a harder situation to deal with and figured this is a good way to get rid of them. im sorry but i give out the respect im given sorry you didnt like my tone but i asked your own employee and they gave that mis information ...but you dont want to hear it and hears another example of mis information....obviously noone is trained properly i highly dont reccomend this place . she didnt even schedule our next appointment that shows to that they just want to get rid of the situation. My grandson goes there and after reviews I am concerned! Will be looking for new place! Very hard since he is comfortable with his therapist but I don't see any positive effort leadership. Just not comfortable at this time read more

Hope you don't need anything because a big fat nothing is all you'll get. I have AuDHD and making phone calls is very hard for me. I used the website contact form twice - no response. Sent 4 emails - no response. Messaged on Facebook - no response. Messaged on Twitter - no response. Messaged on Instagram - no response. My other mental health conditions finally overruled my AuDHD and I managed to call the Smithtown office and was immediately shuffled off to call another number for their centralized intake. 1st - they didn't even transfer me but made me have to make another call 2nd - Nothing like making people sound like just a conveyor belt through a system by calling it centralized intake. I called and spoke to a young woman who really had a hard time handling basic information. Had trouble with my last name (Samson), I told her I was homeless but that's not why I'm calling, I'm only interested in MH services but she put me on hold anyway to see about care coordinator services. Couldn't seem to understand how to input my insurance ID number and then debated it with me - first time in over 5 years that anyone ever told me I was giving them the wrong ID lol. When asked if I was suicidal or having thoughts of suicide I stupidly said yes, but there is no imminent danger. It's part of why I'm calling. Various medical and mental health and family issues has me thinking "why bother" except I'm holding on for my little nieces. She tells me to receive mental health services with them I have to get a psych evaluation. I said I'm going to them for psych evaluations and on-going service. She kept saying I couldn't make an appointment unless I went to ER, Urgent Care, or some other facility for an evaluation. Even if they made me an appointment with them they would still require the evaluation proof. Sooooooo - I come to you needing mental health care, you make it as difficult as possible to get in touch with you in the first place. When I finally get through you tell me I need mental health care before I can get mental health care? After I repeatedly told them I was absolutely not going through that extra process - there was no immediate danger - I am not asking for an expedited appointment - I'm perfectly fine to wait my turn to see someone and establish on-going care she checked with a supervisor who said they'd still require an evaluation before they'd deign to assign me an appointment. When I came here to leave this review I was not one bit surprised to see how low of a rating and all the bad reviews. What's worse is it seems they don't care how bad their rating is because they're all still getting paid through government funds/grants. Please believe me when I assure you that I will be doing my best to have them investigated and post through the various online mediums how bad a place these people are. read more

Terrible counseling center. 0/10 do not recommend. They don't care about their patients. They get the personal info wrong. They bounce you around to therapist to therapist. They're rude. They are not reliable what so ever. Do not put your mental health in the hands of this place. They will only disappoint. I worked with Oscar for one session and then I got switched to Melaine after Oscar cancelled my appointment. Worked with her for also only one session then find out they want to switch me again. Anastasia for two visits and each phone call was under 4 minutes to treat me for medication. Terrible terrible terrible. I had to get out of there my mental was getting worse !!! read more

Whatever outside program they have working for Medicaid should help patients with their needs such as Social Security applications such as counseling such as figuring out ways to get companions yeah I waited for all of those things for about three months they had to switch me to two ladies because I'm a no bullshit type young lady who has seen my dad as a child even though we have no relationship now honor and respect the New York State health department down to having food drives in the middle of the city in one of his centers every single night of the year these are the most lazy and rude people I have ever met my first lady Elaine threaten to put me in a psych ward because I was crying OK then don't ask me my story you feeling less bitch and then they gave me some lady named Karen everybody I was raped from the age of four and when I was four years old and I couldn't take all of the man he would scream lazy lazy lazy at me and I would cry because my parents taught me to never be lazy so today I spent my day considering who I even am as a person as my new but fired Case Worker calls me after a month and I did everything she was supposed to do and then tells me I'm lazy because I didn't call her no I just went and did what I have to do because you're underpaid and overworked so you and your colleagues throw things under the table like me asking you for a supervisor I will have this program investigated that is coming out of the Smithtown area we pay to high taxes for people like Karen and Elaine to go around like this I have reported them to OPMC we are seeking last names. read more

Do not use there Case Management/Care Coordinator Program. I left the Care Coordinator/ Case Manager Program supervisor Pete 5 messages and he still refused to return my call. I had an appointment with disability scheduled for July 12, 22 and my case manager was going to be there with me. I was not aware that my case manager planned her first day back to work from her vacation on that same day July 12, 22. (Red flags are going off). My case manager canceled almost 2 1/2 hours prior to my appointment on a Tuesday, with a story that she was ill and not feeling well for a few days. (I knew that was a lie and that she was leaving the company). My appointment was on a Tuesday and if she was really sick especially for a few days prior, she could have called her supervisor on Monday and have them reach out to me to make alternate plans. My appointment was rescheduled 2x with disability. I left five messages for the Program Supervisor Pete with an update on the new disability appointment that was scheduled for next week. Along with each message I left for Pete I asked him to call me back, explained what I needed , asked what is happening with my case management and that I needed someone from his office to be there with me next week for my disability appointment? I left 1 message directly on his work cell phone, 1 on the general voice mail for Case Management /Care Coordinator and 3 messages with his assistant George . George explained that my case was transferred to the program Supervisor Pete and give him 24 hours. to return my call. I mentioned that its been 4 days since I left the first message and three days since I left the message on his work cell phone. George mentioned to call back if I do not here from Pete on Monday, but he will try reaching out to him again for me. I finally said after the 4th call to George who is above Pete that I can call since he was not returning my calls? George replied no one and did not offer any other contacts. I said to George I guess I no longer have Case Management , therefore I need someone in the New Horizon Counselling Center to be notified of that information and to have Pete directly contact them. Well what do you know about 15 minutes later I received a telephone call from my old case manager informing me that she was leaving the company and I will be hearing from a new case manager next week. I called George back, explained that I already knew my case manager was leaving 10 days ago and I did not need to hear that again which was upsetting me. I thought my case was transferred to Pete. Suddenly my phone call was put on hold. George came back and said "Pete was only covering for my case manager when she was sick". ((Story changes and George Lies for Pete)).. Still Pete would not pick up my telephone call to speak with me nor call me back later.. Pete is a program Supervisor? How hard is it to call a client.. I did check my home phone log on the computer just in case and there was no missed incoming calls . I went all the way to the top trying my best, calling the Program Supervisor Pete five times. * If its bad at the top there is no way things are going to be get better on the bottom.. So do not use New Horizons Counseling Center for Case Management/ Care Coordination. read more
