This McDonalds is pretty awesome. Earlier in the morning, the cafe side is open. It is often…read moredisorganized and semi-slow. But the coffee is always yummy. Sometimes I get the iced coffee and sometimes I get a cappuccino; either way, they come out of the cafe looking pretty as a picture. Depending on who is working in the morning, some employees are friendlier than others. The restaurant side doesn't have breakfast which is often what I love most about McDonalds. However, their touch screens to order make it easy to walk away with your food fairly fast. I love how many options you get with the kid's meals; it always makes me feel less guilty if I need to get a quick meal for my son. All in all, I continue to visit this McDonalds, especially when they have reliable wifi and are close to the gym upstairs in 7 Palmas.

There's a but coming.... But here in Spain the locals are a bit sophisticated and they are fussy about coffee, fussy on the price of coffee (many local places sold a single cup espresso for 75 cents) so me opted for an espresso topped with cream. Yes fresh, thick, cream dolloped atop a very good espresso coffee. I got this for 1 euro 50 cents. I added an apple pie at just over a euro as I've not had one in a year or more. Our server was really helpful; he fussed over me an obvious foreigner to ensure that my order was delivered promptly, and in full. Good on him. I noted in passing on this trip, that where I come from, Mc D is largely staffed by students and young folk but here in Spain and Portugal it's mostly over 40/50. I popped into a Mc D in Gran Canaria to buy 12 macaroons just a few days ago and paid euro 7.5. The chairs remain uncomfortable with the five stars as is usual with me for coffee, WiFi and toilets.

While having a coffee on the rooftop bar of the mall, walking down the exit... I see a sign out of the corner of my eye. A Subway poster. This can not be! My eyes are playing tricks? But no... this is real, not a dream. Subway is here. We immediately went in search of this mystical Subway. FOUND! Had a 6 inch chicken with EXTRA jalapeño. Yea.. that's right. Spain normally doesn't use jalapeño cause of their wimp-like pallets. But here... offering Jalapeño and american mustard. Yea... that's right... American mustard. I've been to a few subways in spain, but they remove all the good stuff about subway and make it more like a spanish fast food joint. But this location keeps more to American toppings. Boom! When I come back from my month-long vacation.. I know exactly where I can find my lunch! Long live Subway. Now if we can get a Taco Bell here... i'll be truely happy to stay here forever!
