Also, he is very, very passionate about photography in general and passing on his immense wealth of knowledge and wisdom to other photographers. The Santa Fe Photographic Workshops is an outstanding program. It is run about as smoothly and professionally as I have experienced for this type of program or size of an operation. The staff is uniformly friendly, supportive, and professional. The campus is beautiful, and the facility and equipment on hand are all of high quality. And of course Santa Fe is a photographer's playground. There is soooo much to shoot in and around town. And the Workshops has an extremely diverse, attractive, and interesting stable of models that they work with. I can't wait to get back and take another workshop there!

Warehouse 21 used to be mostly a big parking lot full of 14-17 year olds smoking and trying to look…read morecool while listening to a bad local teenage band on a Friday or Saturday night. Recently though, they have made a new building an it seems much more focused on their original intention of making art accessible to young people. I went to the opening of the building a couple of days ago, and while it was still surrounded by 14-17 year olds trying to look cool, they also have a great new media arts center, a waaay better recording studio, and two really good gallery spaces. The performance space for the bands is surprisingly similar to the old one, but at least that isn't the only thing that's going on there anymore. I'm looking forward to seeing what else they come up with.

There is no booze allowed there, and the kids orientation attitude is cool for them but possibly with that you lose other markets. Our friend who has a radio show was surprised he did not see more of the older people in the Santa Fe music circle. However it is a block a way from 2nd street brewery so this is easily rectified. Sound was okay and the staff were polite. The dance floor was better than some. It was kind of weird how the younger crowd like to sit on the floor. You feel bad standing in front of them. But you want to show the performers some love. For gods sake is nobody feeding these hipsters -for they are too weak to stand up at a decent live show. What is the world coming to today.

I was driving down Paseo de Peralta and saw a bright yellow "Yarn Etc." sign poking out of a yard -…read moreso I drove around trying to figure out where to park and didn't find anything obvious, so I went about my day. Later while looking up yarn stores on Yelp I found the listing for Miriam's Well and saw the location was right where that sign was, so I called to ask about parking. Miriam answered and told me where to park (the first driveway past the sign while going clockwise on PdP, you have to go down the alley to the end then turn right and then you'll find her shop and a couple places to park in front of it. She has a great little yarn shop with supplies for weavers as well as knitters and crocheters. Miriam is a very nice lady with a great selection of yarns - standards like Berroco, Cascade, Plymouth, Noro as well as a lot of more hard-to-find and more local options as well. Some really gorgeous stuff! She has many sample garments prepared, I'm not sure if they were for sale but there were so many I suspect that some of them are. I myself came out of there with a skein of Great Adirondack sock yarn and a skein of Plymouth Yarns "Happy Feet". Prices were pretty standard compared to other similar shops, she did have a couple specials as well. I will be sure to visit every year when I'm in town!

The women at the school we're so rude and mean. All I wanted was some information, and they felt that being abusive was justified. If you are a sensitive person like me, all I can say is: STAY AWAY FROM SOUTHWESTERN COLLEGE. The people working there are ego maniacs that don't hesitate to treat other people badly.
