Regarding the art department: all the teachers are totally dedicated toward their students and a wealth of knowledge. The facilities are first rate and all the equipment is on the same tier as most state colleges you might find around the western section of the United States. My only complaint is that the campus closes on extended holidays like Spring Break and a few other times around the year which make general access to the equipment difficult to schedule around... Part of this is due to the fact that the college relies on people who are dependant on financial aid to vollunteer to keep sections of the campus open in off hours and won't allow qualified other students and vollunteers to pick up the slack. So it's a beaurocratic issue and will probably never be solved, but I wanted to float that out there to people reading this review. The cafeteria / Food Court is pretty damn awesome. The selection is pretty geared towards New Mexico style food, but it's good... and totally affordable. Burritos can be made to order and the salads and soups are impressive. I tend to think that this could be attributed to the excellent food-service classes that the campus offers for aspiring chefs... Sure, it isn't a nationally accredited chef's specialty school, but I've seen some amazing chefs teach classes here and have yet to see a dud.

Apparently, there's a new dean and whatever he's been doing has only degraded the campus and its services. The internet literally is as slow as dial up. You can't get onto any websites or do searches. It's stunning to think that a college can't have adequate Wi-Fi service. Besides, that, the ceramics department, which used to be fabulous, is now barely, "so, so". It's amazing that New Mexico is known for ceramics and clay and this college seems to be doing everything they can to cut the ceramics course out. The attendance is 1/2 of what it was just last year. For myself, I won't be coming back again to attend classes. It used to be a place I loved to come to when I had an extended stay in Santa Fe.

Overall this school is great with the teachers being very helpful with my kid and actually trying…read moreto get you to succeed. The slight problem I have is the administration they have a nice system with the students being able to decide or help decide, but they are very extreme about it I was called the other day for an abbreviated curse word and before for talking to kids outside of school over summer. I only knew this research facility when I lived in Santa Fe as SAR. I did contract archeological cartography for them for a couple of years. The cartography wasn't difficult, but getting each drawing and map approved was. They had a reputation for never approving the first work submitted. Always wanting everything perfect. Deadlines weren't the primary motivation, perfection was. There were always changes. But producing maps and drawings for some of the Grand Canyon Series of publications made me feel a real part of this prestigious institution and worth the trouble of working for perfectionists. This 100 year-old institution was initially established to study and research the archaeology and ethnology of the American Southwest. In the late 1960s the focus became more of a global one. The programs and activities of SAR today include research and study to advance archeology, anthropology and similar related disciplines. The School's many programs include a scholars-in-residence program, seminars and public lectures, and extensive Native American Indian Arts research programs. SAR has an annual Lecture Series and also provides field trips to noted archeological sites to its members. Membership is inexpensive and the benefits are enormous. 100 years of research is at your fingertips through their extensive library collections (the librarian was the librarian in the Laboratory of Anthropology for many years) and many research programs and publications. (Plus they always welcome volunteers.) As someone who drove beforehand and needed to fix a few issues here and there for not driving for some time, I decided to pay the adult education course offered at ABC Drivers Ed. Despite my early attempts to understand the direction of the teaching approach of my instructor Donny and the overall course, I was unable to achieve my goal at this time. I received shallow and obscure response and direction. Whenever I insisted to know what's going on, Donny never gave me a clear answer. It was pretty frustrating but I decided to be flexible. My bad. I wanted to complete a class for an hour a week, but Donny often offered to complete the class in two (2) hours. I don't think that's healthy and fair for a student. Personally, I felt pressured by Donny to complete as many hours as possible in a short period of time. I quite never understood the rush. He also often asked me to complete many hours in a week, even though I kept saying I'm unavailable. If I have to do it again, I will make my booking directly from the website, be more private about my personal driving practice and do not ask to drive more than an hour in one session. It didn't even make sense to me when he asked me to drive additional hours since I drove him for hours around town at least once and we went on the highway more than once. He was telling me how I was doing a good job and all. Very deceiving. In fact, Donny almost puts our lives in danger at one time as I blindly followed his driving instructions on a highway. My learning experience with Donny was unsatisfactory and poor because I left somewhat unsure about my driving skills even after the hours paid for my adult driving education course from ABC Drivers Ed. Donny said I have to learn one or two things but he actually fails to give the tools to achieve that while I was taking the course with him. He come across as courteous and friendly but as a teacher at a core, I won't recommend him unless you're ready to give him more money by paying additional driving classes. Reflecting back, I think since the beginning, his business objective was to get me to pay additional hours and earn more money that way because the charge is much higher. To be honest with you, I felt ripped off for my time and money by Donny and ABC Drivers Ed.

You can't go wrong working with Joe in…read morethe first place, as he is one of the most talented photographers and gracious instructors you will find. Also, he is very, very passionate about photography in general and passing on his immense wealth of knowledge and wisdom to other photographers. The Santa Fe Photographic Workshops is an outstanding program. It is run about as smoothly and professionally as I have experienced for this type of program or size of an operation. The staff is uniformly friendly, supportive, and professional. The campus is beautiful, and the facility and equipment on hand are all of high quality. And of course Santa Fe is a photographer's playground. There is soooo much to shoot in and around town. And the Workshops has an extremely diverse, attractive, and interesting stable of models that they work with. I can't wait to get back and take another workshop there!

Since it…read morewas a gift for my daughter, I purchased some blank gift certificates, and met Mr. Collins to complete our transaction. This was his first time doing a gift certificate, which is why I purchased the blank certificates and gifted them to him. On the day my daughter was scheduled to meet with him, he contacted her to ask her if she was fully vaccinated. Because she was not, he cancelled the class and refunded my money. To say we were disappointed is an understatement. I recommend that Mr. Collins put a disclaimer on his website to at least let people know they must be fully vaccinated in order to train with him.
