I called in advance to make an appointment and walked in 10 minutes before my appointment time. When I stepped inside the business, there was no one at the reception desk there, while two Asian women were sitting on the couch, staring at me curiously without saying a word as if they were completely surprised by my presence. No "Hello", "May I help you?"...nothing. When I told them I was the one with the 2:30 appointment, they looked at me as if they had no clue of what I said leaving me feel quite uncomfortable and awkward. They also barely speak English. I could have left then and there but really wanted some massage so I stayed and told them the duration I wanted the massage for, and was told that I had to pay in advance. An advance full payment for massage? Is this a normal practice? Anyway, when I tried to pay with my credit card, I was told to pay in cash because the credit card device was malfunctioning. I finally got fed up and left for another spa nearby (which I really liked). I will never come back to this spa ever again. Unprofessional, ignorant of customer service, worst spa ever.

First the place smells amazing. I know thats weird to say, but it was very pleasant... increasing as you go further inside. As i walked to the massage room, i asked the therapist... are you all burning candles? She said it was because of the salt cave. She said that you can smell the Himalayan Sea Salt from nearby room. She told me about the cave (which is on their name) and i said... well i know what i will be doing another day. Massage was great... felt relaxed and revitalized after. And of course the pleasant aroma of the Himalayan Sea Salt made the experience better. I had to come back and try that cave! One thing that happened that was interesting... my first time here, i checked in and there was an offer for a free piece/stone of Himalayan sea salt on your first check in through yelp. I brought it up to the workers there and they had no idea what i was talking about. They called the owner and the owners laughed saying that was created when they first opened years ago. She didnt even know that was still there. They honored the offer. Kudos on that! Big pet peeve is when a business wont honor their check in offers. Also loved the little stone. Picture is on the review. Anyway, I held off doing a review until my next appointment, a half hour in the salt cave followed by an hour massage. So my next appointment was today... salt cave rocked! Room is big enough for 4 people. It only costs $12 to book it for half an hour... which is cheap even when you do it alone but if you bring three friends or family members... $3 each?!?! Thats a steal! Supposedly there are thousands of pounds of Himalayan Sea Salt in the cave thats brought in from Pakistan. They have a machine that crushes salt and puts it in the air. Allegedly 30 minutes in here gives all the benefits of days of breathing sea air. The seating is very comfortable... nice leather recliners. They also have a salt lamp stand in front of each chair to rest your feet. So i spent 30 minutes... just relaxing... meditating... blissful silence. I may have fallen asleep at the end. That room was so relaxing. Once those 30 minutes were over, I went and got a massage. I came out a new man. This place also provides other services and i included the info in one of the pictures. If your in Van Wert of the area, definitely come down! After all we all need to relax and just let go of all the bad life throws at us!

This review is long overdue. I flew in from Los Angeles during Christmas to visit my family. I was…read morein the absolute worst pain I've ever experienced and spent 3 nights in the ER with no relief. Massages and chiropractor visits daily before I crawled into this place and begged if they could see me. As luck would have it weather was terrible and people were canceling. Shelly was the acupuncturist who had the pleasure of fixing me. After many attempts, going into the books, and using different techniques. She called in the cavalry for backup. Tamara, who Shelly speaks so highly of said that if anyone could find my fix, it was her. Tamara worked her magic but with no avail, then everyone in the office who is certified to stick a needle in somebody gave me a try. Shelly even called in a hypnosis who ironically also goes by Shelly (Michelle). I was there for nearly 6-8 hours everyday being worked on. Each one of them spent so much time and care trying to help me. I was so grateful for each one of them because their attempts at relieving my pain took the edge off just enough to where I could get through the day. Once I returned to California an MRI revealed the injury I was suffering from was 3 herniated discs. An injury like that just takes time to heal (and stem cells). I highly recommend this place and Shelly. I was waiting for her to tell me she couldn't help me, but she kept on trying and never gave up. I expected an accupuncture practice in a small city to be trash but this place is top notch and soars above any acupuncture practice I've been in Los Angeles that just takes your money and sends you away no matter if they helped you or not.

It would be nice if the room was a little more soundproofed or located further back in the building away from the road; I could hear lunch hour traffic rushing by on the street about 20 yd away. But other than that, this was a great massage, and I've had plenty over the decades. A lot of therapists these days slop through the motions, but Karen really has a pinpoint, accurate understanding of the human body and I give her full props for 90 minutes of targeted, firm pressure body work. Me having slightly arthritic hands, I greatly appreciate her stamina! I left the appointment, amazed with an amount of flexibility in my neck and shoulders I haven't felt in probably 10 years.
