Tried to patronize this restaurant... experience was terrible. Waited for over an hour and never received our food. Eventually when the waitress came back to the table to check on us we were told our food would probably be another 20 minutes. When we asked what the issue was we were told they were very busy with take outs and door dash. So you neglect your current customers for potential take out?? Pretty sure that was a lie by our waitress as people who came in 15-20 minutes after us were already served their food. Manager and/or owner never came over to talk to us or deal with the issue... he was too busy socializing to actually deal with his business. So... if you are hungry...I would suggest eating elsewhere! read more

I have been going to the cafe for 15 years, I love it. However today's lunch was very disappointing. I understand it's Covid but 1.75 for a little cup of ranch. & 3 dollars for a soda is just a little ridiculous. We are fairly new to the area and had never eaten here, even though it's only minutes from our house. Our kids ordered dinner for us today through Door Dash as we are both in quarantine with Covid. Delivery was right on time and food was great! Very nice size portions and everything was very hot upon delivery. Steak was very tender and everything tasted great! I usually get the steak salad. But I didn't tonight. Boy do I wish I did. Today's special was hot banana peppers, $7.99. I do not recommend this. If you have been there before, then you know the size of their bread sticks. The 3, yes three, peppers you get are smaller then the 1 bread stick you get. Nothing else, 3 very small peppers. they were not even as thick as 2 of my petite fingers together. 8 dollars for tiny peppers and 1 bread stick. How is that a dinner? Really? Great food, great atmosphere, this is the kinda place you can enjoy, whether you go for dinner or you go in for drinks and appetizers or you just stop in to watch the game!! you can't beat the quality of the food here very friendly staff!! Very clean and well-kept. I don't like to say bad things about places so if I go somewhere and have a bad experience I won't post it if I go somewhere and have a good or great experience I share it, I post it, this place you can't go wrong it's a good all-around place!!! Went in for lunch at 2pm and still hadn't gotten my salad by 3pm. Waitress was absent the entire time. No updates on food. Totally ignored us. The waitress was young with long brown hair. Stay away from Her tables. I don't care how good their food is the service SUCKS! read more

Very good lunch with excellent service. Steak salad, gyro and wedding soup were all very good.

...the lunch salad is a keeper. A very large portion and good as well. My only concern about the place is that they have Murphy's Stout on tap but provide no refrigeration for the keg. They do have an in-line chiller, but that should only be used for a one or two day use. I have spoken to the Murphy Stout people and they said they can't do a thing about it... read more

I live a couple blocks away from the Sheffield Cafe and my family and I consistently visit this restaurant several times a month. The atmosphere is always friendly and service is usually quick. For new customers, you walk in and seat yourself and then a minute later a waitress greets you with a platter of popcorn. They always have good specials and great variety of brews at the bar. I recommend any of the several varieties of salads on the menu, some of which are my favorites in the valley. Ordering take-out is also a good option. I do not recommend going to the Cafe with large groups because the dining area can not accommodate comfortably. read more

Their burgers and salads are outstanding. My family has been enjoying this restaurant for the past 6 years. I have tried most every category and there are no bad choices. Especially try the in house made fresh potato chips. Fantastic. read more

This was nice little place. I got the pasta Primavera and I was the first customer who tried it (it was brand new on the menu). The food was pretty good, very colorful and very good for their first time. The two other people I was eating with enjoyed their meals. The waitress was very friendly despite us arriving just before they closed. I recommend this place to try and I would definitely come back. read more

It hurts my heart to write this review but after 50+ years of going to the Cafe, I think I'm going to have to pass from stopping in for dinner ever again. I currently live in Columbus, Ohio and typically eat at the Cafe every single day during my visit either for breakfast, dinner or both. But the last three times I've been in for dinner, I've gotten Lexie as a waitress. I have not been able to get a beer in a frosted glass from her, get my appetizer made as requested or even get the appetizer BEFORE my meal, and I have yet to have her come by and ask if anything else is needed because she disappears until it's time to drop off the check. When you flag her down to tell her something's wrong with the food or tell her you specifically asked for the appetizers before the meal, she says well that's how I wrote it up, shrugs and walks away never to be seen again. The first time it happened I thought maybe she's having a bad day, no worries. The second time it happened I was perplexed that she behaved the same exact way, but after the third time, I have realized there's no way my order is ever going to right and I'm throwing in the towel. The Cafe always held a place in my heart as my parents used to bring me here as a small child. What a shame... read more

Within the past year or so the Cafe was sold and a new owner has taken over. He has removed all the Aliquippa High School Sports memorabilia from the walls. This place was known for their steak salads. Since the new ownership the salads have NOT been consistent. We used to get steak salads for take out at lunch time. We noticed that each time we would order it would be different. More than one time the salad had a small amount of steak on it matching the small amount of fries and lettuce. I feel if you're paying almost $10 for a salad there should be something there to eat. At least make it consistent if you are going to be cheap about what you are serving. During the Christmas holiday we went there a few times for some cold drinks. I noticed that the place was not decorated at all. NO Christmas spirit, which matches the new owners personality. There was not even a wreath up. Myself and several friends used to frequent the establishment after this new owner took over we were never acknowledged by him, walking right past us as we were sitting at the bar. If it wasn't for the some of the great wait staff we would be not visit here and continue on to Shulligans. read more

I had breakfast here this morning and it was excellent! The service is great and the server was definitely a professional. She missed nothing and had several tables. My daughter got the Belgian waffle sandwich and loved it. I got a breakfast special for $4.99 and ot was more than enough and cooked perfectly. Were going back to try dinner soon. My husband and I went here today for breakfast, we didn't want to go all the way to Robinson and aren't fans of any of the other local breakfast places in Aliquippa/Hopewell so decided to give New Sheffield Cafe's breakfast a try..needless to say I was super impressed! They had some specials that included coffee a couple eggs and what not but I chose one of the larger combo's they offered. I had 3 eggs, hash browns, sourdough toast a pancake and instead of any meat I chose avacado, and my husband had a huge delicious omelet and homefries..REALLY good! The steak and chicken salads are nothing but a few pieces of iceburg lettuce, a few olives, pepperoncini, onion, fries and cheese. Meh. Really not good at all. The last steak salad I had, had steak pieces as hard as bullets. Sometimes the fried foods taste like they've been cooked in old oil. read more

Local bar/restaurant. They made renovations so you can sit inside or out on the side patio. There is nothing out of this world about this place but it's comfortable, friendly and reasonably priced. Buffalo chicken wrap was my go to but the menu changed. read more

This place is under new ownership. It has changed for the worst. I've been coming here for years but this will be the last time. The food quality has suffered and the wait staff is slow and inexperienced. I had the fish sandwich which has always been fresh and great but now they use frozen crap.
