I've been coming to this location for 12 years and through three ownerships. This last "new management" kept the name, but not the quality or prices. You used to be able to get a good quality mani/pedi for a reasonable price. Staff was always welcoming and friendly, not anymore, although there are a couple of the old employees still there and they are friendly. New owners renovated the interior, which does not look better (closed over the windows). It looks boring and plain, certainly not worth the upgrade on service pricing. I gave it several chances, (had three mani/pedis under the new owners) and very disappointed in quality. This last mani/pedi, the manicure is peeling next day :( I won't be back. Came here with my sister and she had a nice experience and her nails came out really nice (hot pink). Only reason that I left 3 stars... my experience on the other hand, no stars. I was cut three times, one very deeply that still hurts as I type this... and just unhappy overall :( I was excited to try this salon because I had never been and I saw good things. I gave them another chance after going to another place for a while and I won't be returning after this visit. First the manager changed the worker that started with me to another client that came in after me so that was frustrating and then I ended up again with someone that cut my cuticles several times and it's still very sore. I wanted to give them another chance because some of the workers there are very good but I can't take my chances again. And why did he change the "good" worker that I had in the beginning and give her to someone else that walked in after me? it made me feel not valued as a customer. First time client. Horrible customer service. Can't even speak to the owner she had her clients call me to talk. Was told one price and charged me another price. When I called to complain they tried to fudge the numbers. No gel pedicure should cost 59.00 in Bethel. Those are Ridgefield prices. My daughter's polish is already coming off two days later. This was my second visit. I enjoyed my first visit (dip manicure), but my two sisters both hated their gel manicures (bumpy, cut nails too short). I returned to get a pedicure since this salon is open on Sundays. The nail tech clipped the side of my big toe nail and then PEELED the skin down, almost like pulling off a hang nail. It was so painful and I asked her not to do that on my other foot. Fast forward 5 days and it's now infected and so painful. Never coming back. read more

I moved to Bethel back in January but am familiar with the downtown area. I wanted to get a quick pedicure with my boyfriend so I googled New Star and called ahead. The owner was pleasant and more than happy to have us come in. The ladies who did our pedicures were fantastic, did not rush us, and were very reassuring to my boyfriend as it was his first pedicure ever (lol). Everyone was really nice and the salon was spotless. The lady who worked on me, Jenny, had such a great sense of humor. They also gave me a rewards card so I'm sure I will return! read more

Just had a manicure and pedicure here and I thought it was great. My nails are really short and weak and Julie took her time to even them out. I got a free shoulder massage while my manicure was being done. That alone will make me go back! Everyone was very friendly and prices very reasonable. I will return. read more

This salon got me in for an appointment. They were obviously very busy. They had an amazing amount of staff. I was in my chair getting my nails done at the time of my appointment. I have made appointments and they never seem to recall that you have a scheduled appointment. This has happened almost every time I have gone there. In fact, they tell you that you must be mistaken and then they rush you through a powder gel manicure that you pay $50 and bloody cuticles. I have also witnessed them doing the same to other customers. Make sure you call before you appointment to remind them you have an appointment. LOL read more

They do a very nice job on mani & pedi. Waxing can be a hit or miss, but overall service is friendly.

I am very disappointed in this nail salon. I gave it a couple chances and I will not be returning. My mani/pedi is sloppy and looks like a child did my nails. Also they up their prices on the weekends for the same services which I find ridiculous. read more

I have been to Jae's Nails and Spa twice and both times left disappointed. My pedicures were very quick, with little attention to calluses or massage and they kept trying to get my to add services for more money. After my second pedicure, all of my nails were chipped by the next day. The service has consistently been disappointing and I would not recommend. read more
