Everything from clothing to furniture to books to dishes. Prices, as you might expect, are excellent and a real plus to anyone living on a reduced income, but also just a great store to browse in anyway to find something that can find a second life somewhere else.

Instead, this place was bright and clean. I love how they've laid out the clothes - the jeans in particular: they are hung so that the waste band sticks out, and you can see the size and the branding, and it looks really cool! This is a big store! I didn't have time to go through it as much as I would have liked, but of course like other recycling stores, they've got a bit of everything, from housewears new and old, clothing galore, books, games, and electronics. I pass it quiet frequently and always wanted to stop in, but it was never on the top of my priority list, especially with so many other thrift stores on that street. I had some Christmas items that I wanted to donate, and thought, this is my chance to check out Bibles for Missions. I could tell just from stepping up to the donation door that they bombarded with donations. The donation door was wide open and there were a couple of workers in the back, no greeting, acknowledgment, or thank you, so I plopped my donation down and decided to check out the store. The first thing that I noticed were the signs placed in the entrance "please leave big purses and bags at cash, we reserve the right to search your bag," and so on. Maybe there has been a lot of theft? Not sure, but it did not give me a friendly first impression. No greeting, or acknowledgment throughout the 15 minutes browsing the store, but there were plenty of staff on the sales floor for customer assistance/questions. I did not find that there was a great selection, it was like walking through grandmas basement. Nothing caught my eye here, and I was not "wowed" by anything in particular. What stands out about this thrift store than others, is that it is mostly volunteers, and the majority of the profit goes towards their partnership with the bible league of Canada. Back in Carleton Place, ON this afternoon and thought I'd pop in at Thrift King on Franklin St. I…read morehad things to donate loaded in my car since the weekend and with a cloudy day, what better way to spend a few hours than looking for something special at my favourite op-shop. I was actually hoping to find a shower curtain to update mine but nothing struck my fancy. Since I was in the mood for looking at household items, I browsed the kitchenware section and then noticed the clothing rack at the front of the store. If you are doing Zoom meetings or engaging with family members on Skype or other apps, you know that you are always in need of colourful tops--blouses, T-shirts, sweaters, and of course, scarves. Light, frothy tops layered over a camisole are perfect for summer Zooms and as when the temps cool in the evening, a long-sleeve, form-fitting spandex garment can be worn underneath. O la la, c'est très chic!. Along with several blouses, I noticed a boho bag that looked as if it might be from the sixties. Then, as I was rushing out the door to dash between the raindrops, my eye caught a multi-strand, copper necklace. The jewellery section is sort of hidden along a wall near the coffee cup section and might be a bit tangled from my last visit but well-worth a looksee.
