The one thing I value besides the books is the kiddie area. It's is phenomenal and Jay is amazing as well. Jay keeps it clean and organize. Jay plays with the kids and he has value conversations with them as well. Jay does a baby group which I go to with my 15 month old daughter she loves it. At baby group Jay does songs, music and art time before the library is open to the public on Thursdays. (That's jay in the blue shirt) I enjoy the library and all jay does for the kids.

Renew multiple times online when you realize you have absolutely no time to read it. The crowd is exactly the same as it's at any free venue with seats and restrooms though I saw some students with laptops. A quick glance - overall the selection is pretty scarce. But thanks to one of those travel guides (there's a whole shelf) my vacation trip was very enjoyable.

Life didn't seem that easy at the time but relative to what my life is now (mortgage, car payment, utility bills, etc,..) I would have much guidance for my younger self. Bobst always seemed to have enough places to hide and get away from everyone and everything. The walls of Bobst always did a great job of masking the chaos right across the street in Washington Square and elsewhere in NYC. That was always Bobst's greatest benefit, a place of solace in this great city which seems impossible. Back in my day, Bobst was also a place of knowledge but these days the Internet has probably taken on greatly some of that responsibility. A recent visit led me to revisit some memories, and aside from some minor alterations, the heart of Bobst still lives on.

You'll often see protests happening right inside the library, especially since the atrium is huge - very cool! There are no other nearby libraries that are open 24/7 for students, with security guards helping to find you a sleeping space @ LL-1 in case you needed it (check out near where the lockers/classrooms are @ LL-1). One of the guards would always announce over speaker "Good night" in 15 different languages and go out of his way to genuinely look out for every student's safety and wellbeing. Someday I will find these people and feed them some home-baked cookies as a thank you! Cons: - There is a TON of theft every day, so make sure to take your backpack/laptop with you wherever you go... even if you are leaving for 2 seconds to use the restroom. - Usually quite cold, so bring extra sweaters. - Stay away from the 8th and 9th floors, unless you wanna hear screaming couples getting busy in the individual rooms. - You might find dead bodies of huge flying cockroaches @ LL-1. - Sad that there were multiple suicides inside this building, but I'm glad that they were able to renovate the building with gates on all floors to be safer for all. In spite of the cons, I absolutely love this library and everyone in it! Will forever be grateful to have had the opportunity to fully experience the most beautiful place in the world.

There was security at the entrance and it was easy to manage. On the lower levels of the library there is a very interesting magician exhibit, with real artifacts from Houdini, Kellar, and other notable magic performers. Such a fun spot to spend 30 minutes or so reading about the history of the magic community. The library even gave out free postcards at this exhibit. Cute! On a higher level of the library, you can make an appointment or walk in to watch, original tapings of musicals and movies. I did not do this during my visit, but my friend signed up to enjoy the original taping of Wicked in the future. Although they take walk-ins for this, it is best to make an appointment in advance in case they are busy.

I go to the library every week and I think more people should take advantage to one of the greatest things about living in this amazing city. The NYPL truly is a wonderful organization. The only bummer is the hours and that they're aren't open Sundays.

The library is pretty big (5 stories) and has a plethora of computers and scanners for students to use. The only downside is that half of the lighting fixtures on the tables and half of the electrical outlets here don't even work. Baruch needs to work on getting that fixed. Laptop rentals are on the second floor. They provide Dells, macs and iPads for hourly, daily and 3 day use. Study pods are located directly in front of the laptop rental area but this limited to about 20 or so pods. Also, sitting by the laptop rental area is pretty loud so that's a bummer. Would I be back in the future? I'm there everyday I have class either sleeping or pretending to study. Feel free to say hi lol.

On the rare occasion that I've interacted with the staff, they've been friendly and helpful! While the branch's Adult media lending portion is relatively small, that's OK since you can order online from NYPL's spectacular, vast collection to pick up here! Upstairs, while I haven't visited, there's a Children's section. The only real negative for this location is that talking and other noises from the Children's section reverberate throughout the downstairs non-Children's space. A 2nd Floor noise barrier between the space and stairs might help alleviate the regular sounds of constant tumult heard by 1st Floor patrons. Also, I've noted some people who bring kids to this 1st Floor section to do homework can be quite chatty and, while fantastic and I absolutely commend them for helping kids, it's not always at a volume respectful of others who come there to use the facilities - preferably in a silent atmosphere. On the whole, it's awesome that NYPL maintains this W. 115th St. branch for the community! Thank you, NYPL!

It's the classic architecture for libraries of the time it opened in 1908. This library is a nice walk from my apartment. The layout of reading material is by floor so you navigate upward for age appropriate reading materials. Last time I was in the neighborhood I forgot to stop in. I'm definitely going to return when I'm in the neighborhood. I know you want to see photos. Here's a photo of the book that changed the food industry. Or has it? The space is very…read moreclean but there's not as much seating areas that I thought they would be since Liz is pretty big I thought there would be more seating tables and chairs. However, I was able to find a spot to sit, the outlets are usually unlock during business hours so it won't be a hassle to have access to it. I love the fact that it is close to me if I wanted to walk it, possibly it would just be a pretty long walk. I think should be in most neighborhoods. I just have two things that's really inconvenient in my case. If I have to use the space to work on my clients, it's not the most comfortable if I wanted to come here for recreation use, I will go to the main branch for that. Also, the hours are limited I would like to be there earlier before 11 o'clock , but it doesn't open until 10 AM. Also, you can't bring any food or drinks in there I just have food but no drinks at all. If I'm working past more than an hour I'm gonna need some coffee to keep me up or some water I think I can come here. I just need to pick up a book order I made or if I'm gonna be here less than three hours or even less than two hours.

But ever since I have been introduced to this world, I can't help but feel like an outcast. In any case, this is a review about the library and not about the wonderful world of Ivy League (read: pretentious, over-priced, privileged delusions). Here are some reasons why this library totally blows: 1. Why are the bathrooms in such disrepair? For Buddha's sake, the public health school is housed here, can we at least get some decent sanitation? 2. Why are the printers, copiers, staplers always broken or jammed? 3. I def do not like this one dude that works the evening desk, he always has some sort of attitude when I ask for a reference book. Look, there are plenty of unemployed people who could gladly and willingly take your job. 4. The people working the help desk usually don't want to help you. 5. Poorly constructed building with confusing elevators and terrible signs. So, for 50K, you buy the name of this institution and you get to hang out in this crappy library for most of your days. Maybe that online degree from Phoenix wasn't such a bad idea after all.

Love the view in the Riverview Lounge - used to bring my laptop and camp out in the quiet study area. Anatomy + view of the hudson, what more can I ask for? haha. It was also where my dance team had rehearsal during my first year... and where all the fancy post seminar luncheons were held. My only complaint to this place is the spotty reception on the second floor computer lab. Maybe I should blame t-mobile but I can never receive any calls or texts whenever I'm up there. Will continue to study/work on whatever project i have here.. until i graduate. 1.5 years in counting!
