I haven't been here in years but had to write a review. Dr.Strange was pleasant to go to. I even went out of my way to continue going to see them when I moved to seattle. Issue is with there billing dept and office gals. Thanks to them I have a $23 dentist bill that was sent to collections and is on my credit report. They said I never updated my info so they've been sending it to my old address that I haven't lived at for years. Funny cause I've gotten their newsletters at my new address. Very upset that because of their clerical mistake I have to work on getting this off of my report which is a total hassle and takes time and money. read more

Unfortunately, this is my first one star post ever. I am really disappointed in the customer service I've received there multiple times. Our family has decided to find another dentist after 2.5 years there. The front desk has a very flippant attitude with a lack of compassion for their patients time as if the world revolves around them. I will refrain to explain the multiple problems we've had there - this post would be too lengthy. It starts at the top, if their front desk staff is unable to consistently provide decent service with basic organization systems with appointment times, that leaves me with little confidence about the true quality and professionalism pertaining to the rest of the practice. Dr. Curalli was a terrific dentist there and has recently left the practice. Their hygenists are nice and engaging and they have a great fish tank in the lobby. read more

All of the Dentists here have been amazingly kind and informative. I needed to have re-treatment due to a failing filling. The Front staff, Billing Department and Doctors were all very respectful and informative on my options. Dr. Strange fixed my filling and I've never been happier with it. No pain and he was quick! I started taking my children here to see the Pediatric Dentist, Dr. Lee. In the past, they were apprehensive, but all of the staff and Dr. Lee were amazing. They got toys, goody bags and got to participate in the No Cavity Club. Dr. Lee and his assistants know exactly how to talk to kids! Our family recommends this office to anyone. The best experience I've had with a dentist in a long time. I've been putting off having my wisdom teeth pulled but Dr. Strange made me feel comfortable enough to pull the trigger. And the cost was a fraction of what I've been quoted in the past. Dr. Strange had all of my wisdom teeth out in just an hour. I'm certainly in pain but it's not nearly as bad as what I was expecting. I have been seeing Dr Strange and Dr Bishai for over 5 years now and have never felt so at home in a dental office. The Hygienists are thorough and knowledgeable and getting an appointment is never a problem. They are open early and late and even Saturdays. The office is clean and modern and the filling I got completely took care of my sensitive tooth. The Children's dentist even took out one of my son's loose baby teeth without him even knowing he did it! They are very upfront about costs which I really appreciate. My coworkers recommended Newcastle Dentistry because they love the place. I finally decided to go and I saw Dr Bishai and Lisa for my cleaning. Loved them both. The practice is beautiful and everyone was so friendly and kind. The coffee in the waiting room was great for after my cleaning, one less stop to make on my way back to work. I recently had my wisdom teeth extracted by Dr. Bishai under sedation because I was scared to be put under. It went AMAZING. Dr. Bishai was very gentle with taking them out and Whitney had very good chairside manner! Everyone at this office is very nice and very helpful! DR. BISHAI SAVES THE DAY!! I was suffering from terrible pain from an infected molar just weeks after giving birth. Even though it was Dr. Bishai's day off, she came into the office to treat me. She used a panoramic x-ray that revealed I had a very infected molar and needed a root canal. Once my root canal healed, she made a crown in-house using a Cerec machine. It was a perfect fit and only took one appointment. Dr. Bishai is smart, thorough and informative. Her staff is friendly and professional. The office is immaculate! My experience was truly second to none and I can't thank Dr. Bishai enough for her exceptional service. I highly recommend Dr. Bishai and Newcastle Dentistry! read more

Love Dr. Bishai and all of the friendly dental assistants and operations staff! I've been going to this office for over 4 years now and have never been disappointed. Dr. Bishai is very thorough and is extremely invested in making the best possible decisions for her patients (I have several friends who go here as well and the feedback is consistent across). She also does great work and calls after most major treatments (root canals, crowns, big fillings) to check in and if this isn't going above and beyond, I don't know what is. Another huge bonus is that I have never had problems working out payment plans with the office. Additionally, while the doctor's schedules fill up pretty quick in peak seasons (holidays etc), I have always been able to get an appointment fairly close to when I call in to request one. If I can give less than one star, I would. Dr Strange is a good thorough dentist but his medical billing department and staff is somewhat less than desired and the reason that I will find a new dentist. My insurance pays for cleanings every six months, calendar year, and the staff makes appointments well in advance. I never ask for specific days or times, I let them figure it out. Turns out that, not once but twice, the staff miscalculated the time and insurance won't pay for the cleaning. The dentist also uses products not covered by insurance, without first telling me that I would be paying out of pocket for certain work. Unfortunately, the work is done and it isn't like I can refuse to have it done now. So I am out over $350.00 when I have plenty of insurance to pay for it. I will go to a more honest dentist that will discuss the work and costs before the work is done and a staff that knows how to book appointments. read more

I was very disappointed in the care I received here. During my first visit X-rays, I actually had to point out to them that they were cutting my gums and it was painful not just uncomfortable (they didn't notice the blood for some reason). This is from a person that typically is very relaxed at the dentist! The rest of the visit went just as poorly, from recommending replacing a crown now as it would need to be replaced sooner or later to asking the same questions more than once. The only positives I could say are that the office itself is nice and that it is very easy to get an appointment (now I know why!). read more

While completing observation hours with a couple of dental hygienists at different places, I was paying close attention to their work and how they treated their patients. While completing my observation hours at Newcastle Dentistry, I met dental hygienist Nia and I was very impressed with her work. Nia is very knowledgeable on her job and was very happy to teach me as much as she could while I was there. She is professional and provides excellent service to all her patients. Her patients seemed very satisfied and they enjoyed having her as their dental hygienist, as she has established a great relationship with them. Right after I was done with my observation hours, I decided to switch to Newcastle Dentistry because I knew I could trust her to take care of my teeth. A month later I went in for a cleaning and I was, once again, impressed with her work. While I was getting my teeth clean, I didn't feel any pain during my appointment, even though I have receded gums and sensitive teeth. Newcastle Dentistry can't be beat for your dental care. I have been a patient of Dr. Strange's for years and have always appreciated his state of the art approach to dentistry as well as the pride he takes in his practice and his personal approach to his patients. Still I was a bit concerned over having my 66 year old wisdom teeth pulled. It was time; I was tired of biting my cheek and the cavity was just getting bigger. But everyone said pulling wisdom teeth is a "young person's game"; getting harder the older you get. I shouldn't have worried at all. Dr. Strange numbed up my jaw so that I really felt no more than a bit of pressure sensation when he pulled them out. More surprising to me was that I didn't have any pain after the anesthetic wore off. It is important to irrigate the socket with the syringe he provides to keep the area clean and with that my recovery has been completely uneventful. I've had cavities filled, crowns made, routine and deep cleaning, teeth straightened, and now teeth pulled all with the highest level of professionalism and care. As a physician with lots of experience delivering direct patient care, I recognize a quality clinical practice. I highly recommend Newcastle Dentistry for all your general dentistry needs. read more

My expierence with Dr. Strange started with a broken tooth that I had put off way to long because I was basically just scared to death of the dentist from a bad expierence as a kid. Finially, i couldn't take it any more and i went in to this dentist, because it was the closest one. The Dr asked me what he could do to help, and I just said give me a good expierence, so I will want to come back. Well after taking care of that broken tooth, I came back and played catch up after not going to the dentist for 8 years. A year later i'm still going there, but it's not the closest dentist to me anymore. Still worth the trip! if your scared of the dentist, this is the place for you. I was happy about the service for the first 2 years or so. Until recently, they started charging me services that are not cover by my insurance, they perform those service to me without my consent, and asked me to pay afterwards. They called me after 4 months for another appointment, but I've decided not to go there any more. Then they charged me $50 for no show. I told them I wasn't told there's a penalty for no show, and the receptionist said I signed a form agreeing to it. I asked her to show me the form, and after a few minutes, she said I didn't sign it, but I still have to pay because of it's their "policy". Do not go to this place. They used to be good, but things have changed. They will try to squeeze every penny out of you in an unethical way. There are many dentists around, you don't need services like this read more

The dentists: I've only spoken on the phone with Dr. Bishai, and she was very helpful and clear in addressing my problem. However, I consider Dr. Strange "my dentist", and he is awesome. I've had quite a bit of dental work over the years by several different dentists. He is, by far, my absolute favorite. He has told me honestly what was needed, but never pressured me to get it done before I was ready. When I've had emergencies, he's treated them like true emergencies. He's sensitive to my comfort while I'm in the chair, and tells me what he's doing and seeing. In short, I fully trust his knowledge, skill, and judgment. Hygienists: I've had several work with me and they have all been pleasant and sensitive. Office staff: The wait to get in is sometimes long, but I can't blame them for that. They have always done what they can to accommodate me and have been pleasant to interact with. The office: It's a pretty high-tech office, which I do like. I have a small mouth and the digital x-ray equipment is a God-send. Because they are family dentists, they have the smaller sized parts on hand - I don't feel like they're choking me. It's also great to be able to see the images right away and review them. The x-rays can also be sent directly to other specialists if you need services that they don't offer. The rest of the office is nice and clean. It's not a spa, but it's not as cramped or clinical feeling as many other offices. Parking has never been an issue (although the chocolate store downstairs might be ;) ). Evening and weekend hours are great, but of course, those slots get nabbed quickly. The only thing I could complain about is the location, but I really, it's somewhere that I go infrequently, so I don't mind the drive. If anything, the fact that I'm willing to drive from Queen Anne to Newcastle just to be seen here should say something. read more

Ever wonder why some people smile with their mouth closed? They haven't met Dr. Strange!!! I had a very sad and disappointing situation with my previous dentist...my "smile" was gone and the teeth were a real problem. Dr. Strange did not make me feel like I could never smile again and assured me that everything was fixable. From that moment on, "one miracle " after another! Dr. Strange has the unique ability to visualize what can be...and ..the talent to accomplish it...with beyond amazing results". When I saw my "new smile" I was beyond belief of what I was looking at. I have the smile I thought was only possible in pictures! It truly was the happiest moment and one I will never ever forget it. I was nearly speechless and tears filled my eyes. Newcastle dentistry is such a great office. All the staff is super nice and courteous. They send you text messages to confirm your appointment which is very convenient. Dr. Bishai is very knowledgable and professional. She was patient and took the time to explain all my treatment options. When I went back for my fillings I was so nervous, but it was the best experience. She had a good technique with the needle I didn't even know she had given it yet. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!! I am at a loss of words for how horrible my experience was with this place. First of all, the hygienist made me feel uncomfortable with a personal health issue that I disclosed, thinking that it was important to bring up. Not only was is discussed loudly and in a completely unprofessional way, but the doctor did nothing to rectify her behavior! She also belittled my questions and talked to me like a child. I left the office thinking that maybe it was just me being sensitive, but my partner also felt like she got a weird vibe from the staff. It doesn't stop there. We then received a bill that was for services that were provided after the staff confirmed that our insurance would cover, which they then did not. After talking to the "billing specialists", they stated that nothing more could be done. This is also after I was told by two different workers that I would receive a call back - which I never did. I shouldn't have had to chase them down, but had no other choice but to do just that. This place is a joke! How is this doctor even in business when there are unethical practices being carried on?!? I have been to plenty of doctor's offices and have never had an experience like this. If you're going to go to this office be sure to check your insurance BEFORE you go otherwise they may also lie to you and tell you services are covered when they are not. read more

I LOVE MY DENTISTS!!!! I now have four tiny little works of art permanently on display in my face. I had my four front upper incisors crowned (long overdue) and I couldn't be more pleased. Gums are still healing to their final position, fingers crossed. Even the temporary looked good although it cracked. They were able to rush order my crowns and fit me in to seat them rather than make a new temp. Dr B came in once on a Saturday and rescued me when an old crown popped off. Nice staff, great dentists, responsive to emergencies, always prompt. You can't do better for adults. For children (I have three) I recommend Dr. McDonald at A Kid's Place. read more

I have the honor of having Dr. Bishai as my dentist. When I first walked into Newcastle dentistry I had not been to a dentist in years due to lack of no dental insurance. I had many cavities and broken teeth due to teeth not being an importance being raised by a single parent and living in poverty. I had came in to the office because of of my front teeth cavities had broken and I was embarrassed of my smile. When I first met Dr. Bishai she made me feel so welcomed and was very patient with me. I have had bad experience with previous dentist and was afraid to see another dentist but know it was needed. Dr. Bishai talked me through the plan she felt best for my teeth and reassured me everything was going to be ok! I had my root canal and temporary crown down as well as my front teeth cavities filled.Dr. Bishai and her dental assistants have done an amazing job! You feel like family when you walk in the doors. The front desk welcomes you by your first name and always have a smile on their faces. I agree with Mike, the front desk staff are RUDE! They act like the world is over if you need to cancel. I have only gone here once and had Dr. Strange. He was up front, honest and asked me to share my thoughts and tell them if I was ever not happy with them, as they want to keep their patients. Now, he did tell me I needed gum surgery, as the gums above my front teeth are thin(?) and a surgeon needs to take gum tissue from elsewhere and add it to the area that needs more. I thought this was weird as I have had 3 previous dentists who never said anything, (I moved a lot for work). Anyways, he seemed a bit odd, but nice enough. The hygienist was nice, but loud-so any private quest's she would ask would be heard by all and advice/lecturing was loud too and I feel I shouldn't be chastised publicly. I'm not a kid and have great hygiene habits, just need to floss everyday, ( really, who does?). The front staff are the worst I've ever encountered. Do they not know they are the face of the office and provide the first impression? I have canceled twice, (sick once with stomach flu, so really couldn't commit to sitting in dental chair, as nature called fast, and spaced today and let hubby take the car, as other is in shop). She was so rude, claimed I had canceled once. I apologized over and over, and even commented I got no reminder, so I spaced, ( I take full responsibility and am not blaming them). The kicker is she first told me my apt wasn't today, but next week on the 8th-I had to tell her that today was the 8th,(WTF?). Then upon canceling she rebooked me a month later, with a tone in her voice like "since you canceled, I'm gonna make you wait a month, muhahaha!" I said ok, apologized again and she hung up. Not even once saying "it's okay", or "I understand", or "yes, we didn't remind you or confirm". Here is the kicker, two hours later I get a text saying they are looking forward to my apt today in two hours! Obviously their text system is screwed up. They should have called or texted Thurs or Fri like other offices to confirm-not the day of, 2 hrs before! So, I'm looking for a new office now. All this coupled with screwing my husband twice as they couldn't finish his intake apt as half way computers went down and second visit they fell behind and couldn't do his filling. So he had to make 3 trips for one apt!! Dr. Strange needs to have an office meeting and teach customer service skills to the front staff. read more

Great team, excellent service, and very customer centric. On November 11th, I had four wisdom teeth removed (and in all honesty, I wasn't thrilled about the concept going into it). The pre-procedure direction was straightforward, the procedure went without a hitch, and eight days later am back to normal diet. Post procedure, I didn't have any swelling of the cheeks (I didn't look like a chipmunk) and I had very little discomfort (didn't require vicadin, just Advil and Tylenol). While I was anxious about the impact to my schedule (how much downtime I would require) and the impact to my general comfort, all of those concerns were quickly removed. I was back at work on the 12th and eating fairly normal foods on the 16th. Dr Strange and his team were great throughout and Dr Strange even called me the evening after the procedure to ensure all was on track. I can't image something as daunting as having teeth removed could have been handled any better. read more
