    Rezzi I.

This pharmacy, located on Clerk Street, has quite a serious atmosphere about it, as thought there were something they specialise in (which I'm yet to discover). It's extremely well kept and quite bright and shiny compared to the other stores in the vicinity. You won't find comestics here, but the usual over-the-counter medicines, as well as feminine products and dietary supplements. Price-wise they might be a little bit more expensive than Boots which co-incidentally is just a few minutes down the road. Apart from a slightly calmer atmosphere, I personally don't see the edge this pharmacy has over the bigger chains, as I love variety!

Convenient for various reasons,…read moreincluding the fact that I'm particularly talented at losing my toothbrush and they've got a whole colourful selection of those for me to purchase over and over again (I wouldn't want my colours to overlap, now would I?). The people who work there are the nicest pharmacists I've ever met. Back in my universitary photojournalist days I once had to procure a needle for the purposes of an article of drug use in Edinburgh, and though they couldn't specifically give me what I needed, they both informed me of where the Needle Exchange was and weren't at all perturbed by my request. Which is always quite comforting. Only downside here is that, yes, it is quite expensive. For all the girls out there: 1) don't get yourself into this situation, 2) they now give out free morning after pills if you're registered with a local GP. And that's all, folks.

The staff here do know what they are talking about and you just need to go in and tell them what the problem is and they will recommend what will help the most. With this they are more often than not spot on and anything they give you seems to do the trick. Any visit here is also relatively inexpensive as they will always let you make the choice between the large brand or unbranded and cheaper medicines explaining the differences and letting you decide what you want to buy. With a pharmacy this good, unless you are seriously ill, you hardly need a GP.

That said, the staff are always happy to help and are very knowledgeable, and they stock most over the counter medicines (I have never fulfilled a prescription there so can't comment on prescription medicines). Well worth a visit if you're in the area and in need of medical or beauty-related supplies!

This is a handy little pharmacy near the centre of town, especially good as its nice to shop somewhere which isn't Boots or Superdrug. When I went in for the first time for my Heyfever medicine the staff were very considerate and friendly. It offers usual extra pharmacy servies like passport photography. It also sells cards and bits and bobs making it feel almost like a mini-post office. Unfortunetly it also has what appears to be a 99p shop attached. This makes the place seem a touch tacky but presumably this in understandable attempt to make some extra money and compete with the big names.

I have been in a few times and I am now using their face wash daily £3.49 a bottle compared with my previous £27 a bottle more expensive brand. Now I am aware that it doesn't have the plush surroundings or snazzy addresses of its counterparts, I am pleasantly surprised and I have even joined up to their points card. I'm a creature of simple tastes when it comes to my beauty regime and so far this place has ever let me down. I'm not going to up my rating though because, maybe I'm just spoiled, but where's all the deals?! I work on a limited budget (also I'm a miser...) so I rejoice in deals but this small shop rarely has any, apart from emery boards at the till the odd time. There's also not a huge range when it comes to newer big name brands, you'll get your Nivea and Clearasil but don't expect any of the newer brands that can be found in the bigger shops. They seem to have a particular client base, who like the essentials and they're sticking with it! So, besides me being annoyed I have to pay full price for things, the staff are nice and always helpful. It's an alright place that will likely have what you need, but don't be surprised if they don't!
