There is nothing particularly special about the Applegreen service station, but for one important…read moredetail. It has a Wimpy. Not just a hot counter with shrivelled sausages, or even an Apache or an Abra, but a real-life Wimpy burger joint. Before this, this was exotic fare that could only be procured in the UK. Well, the future is now, people. And it's burger shaped.

I never thought I would review a service station. I also never thought I could have such a good…read moreexperience at a service station! This petrol station has a huge and lovely cafe in it. It has a wide selection of freshly baked goods, doughnuts, sandwiches, tarts, you name it. Coffee is great, most creamy latte I've had in a while, and a large tea collection including a Puerh teabag. Wonders! I got the blueberry and custard tartlette, biggest sugar rush ever! This cafe is inviting to sit and watch the world go by Stillorgan Road. Sofas, high seats and plenty of plugs for the ole laptop. Good to go!

I blissfully whizz past the maxol at the end of my estate, I practically vault past the Esso on beach road and on to that veritable bastion of all things nice and lovely... the new Applegreen on the N11. The shop is huge and the staff friendly, they have a really nice café in there and a hot deli counter that just screams "relax, have a coffee, maybe try one of these oh so delicious breakfast rolls or perhaps just a warm buttery croissant. There is the usual array of services outside as well.. a carwash, air, water yada yada yada but its all about the inside for me. So, I pull up at the pumps, open my petrol cap and insert the fuel nozzle. Just before I start the refeueling something niggely at the back of my mind says "check for your wallet" I did It wasn't there Blast ...true story

This racial bias is extremely unacceptable for a healthy business relationship. I hope Applegreen considers this matter seriously and train staff to be hospitable and polite. I share this experience to raise awareness, not to ruin your day with an unpleasant start.

I'll usually always go to Low cost if I need petrol but this place is bigger and generally has more in it. What's the story with the names of theses places, on the run, applegreen and the like, are the big oil company's being ironic or just lazy?

The store it's self is very short on goods but it is a small store and they do offer gas, so that's a plus. Over all I guess it does what it's there for.

This forecourt is particularly large which means that you can drive past a sitting car to get to a free pump rather than waiting for the car in the way to finish. There is also a fair few parking spaces to the side if you're just popping into the shop and not getting petrol.

Everything is new and shiny and they have a Mace so good for grabbing some essentials while you are there. I really do like their automated car wash though. Oh and yes they do sell petrol and diesel.

Now calm has come!! and after rush hours will be a great place to get your petrol, sliced pan, milk, a breakfast roll, newspaper or a nice chocolate bar. the car wash is normally great, there you can wash your car (self service) for a good price, the machines are well looked after, it is unusual if they're not working. the price of the petrol or diesel will never be ok, the prices are very high so the rating is bad. i don't know a garage who will have cheap fuel.Is it a screw to the peolpe due to the fact that we all need to transport ourselves from place to place? take it anyway!!! garages are disappearing, in some way the people around the area have the facility of this service, probably they could give out about a petrol station being so near their houses but they will really miss it if they would have to travel few more miles to refill.
