I feel like my experience here is similar to everyone else's. The lack of customer service is appalling but the prices are good so I deal with it. I've purchased an iComfort mattress and a couch from here. The people from Sears who delivered my bed were fantastic and so polite. They do charge a haul away fee that is per item (besides the bed) so just a heads up on that. I paid about 150 just Between the haul away fee and the delivery charge. Long story short, if you can deal with the "I don't give a crap about anything" attitude from the employees when you do manage to locate one at the check out stand, the prices and quality of the furniture outweigh the crappy service in my opinion...for now... read more

Changed the time on us dramatically the night prior after we had to get the ok to stay home from work for the delivery. Don't give us one set of time then give us the second half of the day instead when you KNOW most of your customers work. Unprofessional. Never going to this store again. FIVE STARS......for their delivery folks, (we bought two recliners), not so much for the sales counter people. Saturday morning, (10/30/21), parking lot was 3/4 full, store was moderately busy. What?.....only TWO check-out windows open?! Waited 22 minutes before someone helped me despite being first in line. Plenty of nametag-wearing folks walking around and talking story, but definitely not proactive when it came to customer service. Counted a total of three people that finally just got fed up, stepped out of line and left the store. They really need to streamline the purchasing aspect of the sale or better train their people. We're going to HomeWorld in Aiea for our barstools, sofa, coffee table, end tables, lamps, and entryway table. They have a better selection of furniture manufacturers, as the NEX is just basically an Ashley outlet. For certain we'll pay more, but at least they deliver on what they promise with no BS excuses. read more

Most of the furniture is dull colored and very outdated. If you're looking for 90's style furniture then this is the place for you. They do have special order catalogues (which have a much better selection), but it takes months to be shipped and delivered. read more

Very disappointed in the customer service here. The women are all very grouchy (the men were actually helpful though). I ask for the price on a box of lamps and was quoted a price. When I got to the register it was actually priced per lamp. I would not have minded that except both women were so short with me, one told the other it was priced per lamp and the other one told the her I didn't tell her it was for both lamps. Instead of simply saying "Sorry ma'am that price is per lamp". They both had to play blame game which made me uncomfortable! Plus they were just RUDE no sorry, thank you, etc. instead I felt like they thought they were doing me a favor to shop there!!!!!!! read more

Mixed feelings about this place. I did get what I came there for (and more) but the lack of customer service personnel definitely shows. When I asked for assistance to about purchasing something I was completely blown off. If you have military benefits, this is the place in Hawaii to buy your furniture! Just about everywhere else is much too expensive. They have a good selection, and what they don`t have, you can custom order. And yeah, no tax. The extended warranties are a really good deal. Ask them for details. read more

Not much of a selection and some of the furniture like the writing desk was pretty flimsy. Be prepared to wait several weeks for your items to be delivered. Better off shopping off base where you can find better selection and prices to match. read more

The lady who we asked a question was super nice, even told us the bedroom suite we were interested in was going on sale a few days later. We went back and purchased it, just grabbed the tags of the items we wanted, paid, and were out the door. Outlet things got delivered two days later and the delivery fee included them assembling everything, which for us was worth it! I'm rating the store, not the products. Customer service is not existent at this store. When I was able to find a rep, they had zero knowledge on the products. They picked up the info card next to the couch I was looking at. Second, I've bought a car and rolled though financing faster than I could get a couch here. And for some reason people who call on are giving a higher priority than the people standing in line. The store as a whole needs to streamline the purchasing processes. This is an Ashley Furniture store run by the NEX. Their furniture is not the best quality, but they do have a decent selection if you're in a pinch. They also stock inventory in the warehouse, so you can often pick up large items the same day. Check the back room for markdowns/discount items! read more

Good furniture at good prices. Those good prices are unfortunately accompanied with terrible customer service, just like everyone else posted. I've met one associate in the gallery and one in the warehouse that was helpful. The rest on-shift at the time were inept or didn't care. Additionally, they just changed the warehouse hours; they now close at 7pm. However, the sales gallery stays open until 9pm. So if you buy an item after 7pm, you can't pick it up until the next day at the earliest. How does that make sense??!! read more

Bought a full bedroom set, have it delivered and have to returned twice because first it was damaged. 2nd delivery was wrong item plus another damage. I went back to store just to find out that Chris ring up the wrong item. The item that I wanted has a different price that day and denied it. I reminded him that we walk together to show him I want 2 dresser and no chest and yet he ring up chest. Because of it I end up paying an extra because of his mistake and not even sorry about it. We had a wonderful experience buying a sectional which was delivered four days after we bought it. Bought a dining room table from them. I have already had one chair replaced because the support snapped and now I have another that looks like it was overtightened and now all the joints are split. Last time I called them to see if they would replace my current broken chair I sat on hold for over a half hour while she "finished up a transaction" Not sure if I want to bother buying from them again. read more

DO NOT SHOP at the exchange for any reason! No customer service, transactions take forever, they accidentally double charge you and you have to start the whole process over again to get rid of the excess charge. read more

Mostly good I've gotten 2 items recently. Both times I was helped by nice staff members and it went fine. The first item had damage but they promptly exchanged it and all is well there Buying the last item we noticed a price discrepancy of about $15 per item x 6. Our cashier was in training and needed to ask the trainer for help. The trainer unfortunately needs an attitude adjustment. As she walked away she very dryly stated that the price changed and she knew it was right (although the actual item was marked with a very different price). It was very clear she couldn't care less about a customer paying $90 too much. Realizing this trainer (Suzie) was a dead end, I asked our cashier (Tina) to give my info to the manager and have him call us. Just as we going to leave, he (Wade) walked by. Tina explained to him that the items were marked as $70 rather than $85 but rang up $85. It was immediately fixed and that was that. Thanks to Tina and Wade for the excellent service and patience. As for Suzie; perhaps a refresher in customer service training is in order. When you basically tell the customer to shove off as you walk away; there's something wrong there (I don't even need my 15 years of customer service experience to know that). That's before we even discuss how the prices don't match the hard item's barcode. How is it the trainee has better service than the alleged trainer? So aside from Suzie my experience has been great; So I marked 4 of 5 stars. I probably will shop here again and just try to have someone other than her help me. Every other person has been wonderful. I forgot the name of the lady who rang me up on 5/11 for my couch but she was also very pleasant Delivery time has been available quickly each time. As happy as I am about getting tax-free furniture, this place isn't the place of choice for the younger generation. They have everything basic that you might need like tv stands, entertainment centers, sectionals, coffee tables, kitchen tables, beds.....BUT they're a little old school for my taste. If you love design and like things that are unique, this isn't the place for you. Other than I give them three stars for having great prices and having basic furniture items. read more

Pretty upset right now because I waited a week to get the furniture for my daughter's room (which the wait is not the problem). When the movers got there, they realized the bed and the dresser were completely broken. They stated they told the warehouse this before they left, but the warehouse signed off on it anyway! When I called the NEX they told me I would have to wait another week to have new furniture delivered and that it was not their fault the warehouse didn't inspect the items! the only two options given to me were pick it up myself or wait until the next week. That is complete laziness by the warehouse and BS that the store did not make accomodations for an earlier delivery, especially since I live litteraly 5 minutes from the furniture gallery. Now my daughter doesn't have a bed to sleep in for ANOTHER week. read more

A few weeks ago we arrived on the weekend and no one greeted us at the door, we walked around the entire store no sales person helped us her offer to help us. They told us we had to wait in the checkout line to talk to somebody so we just left. We decided to come back with a weekday when we thought it would be less busy still no one greeted us at the door no salesperson helped us around we had to wait in line again to get customer service. When we checked out they bring it up for three king size beds when we already rung up our card we asked for one queen size bed frame. We waited at the register for 20 minutes for them to fix the problem. They then told us there were no more Queen sizes that came with the headboard and footboard just the headboard. Who the heck sells half of the bed!!! So we just left we are never going to buy anything or shop there ever again customer service is horrible please please please hire more people!!! read more

I agree 100% with yelper Moneque R. - Nex Home Gallery doesn't really have much for the young'ns. I would say my taste is a bit more modern - sleek and simple is what I look for. Since moving to Hawaii, we needed four major pieces: a bed, a sofa set, a dining set, and a TV stand. Everything here in those four categories was super antique style. Wood galore. Out of the things I needed, I only settled for a nice sofa set, which cost me about $1k for a large sofa and loveseat, which came with a bunch of cushions. I felt like I was lucky to even find a sofa here. We were originally looking for a sectional, but the sectionals were mostly leather (they have a LOT, if leather is your thing), or cheap looking (think corduroy) fabrics. I think the sofa was a super good deal though; no tax is always nice. Shipping cost us an additional $90. read more

Communication not very good amongst employees. I saw a dining room table in the sale ad and went to go and view the item in store. They did not have the table in stock (it didn't make it in with the other shipments) they took my info and was told I could get the sale price still and they would call me when the item came in. 1week later they called to tell me the item was shipped it. I went to the store 3 days later, they had trouble finding my info, finally found it. Come to find out the dining room was not set up for viewing still. They put in a "work order" to put the furniture together and they would call me 3-4hours later when it's ready. I received no call that day nor a call all the next day. I called late that evening come to find out that the item was set up for display the day before. I told them I did not receive call. The person who answered the phone simply apologized. I just hope for better communication amongst their employees and a better way of documenting things like this so the customer is not having to chase around and explain their story 10 times... read more

If you just moved here and are looking to furnish your place, you might find one or two things here, but not everything. Fear not, there is a Pier One right in Pearl City, a Home World right on Kam highway, and if you really want to spend some bucks, CS Wo downtown. NEX is for special orders, like Burger King. If you know how to work the internet and catalogs, you can save a few bucks ordering through NEX, but you must have time, money, and patience. Same thing for appliances up by the gas station. They can special order anything but GE, and if you're nice to them and patient, they'll tell you when the individual manufacturer's and their own sales will be. 15% off thousands of dollars of appliances is worth the homework.
