I tried to do this today and I was told the new owners would need all of my personal details should they need to make a claim. I asked what would be needed and it's my email address, phone number and home address. Basically everything that's needed to commit fraud against me! Pathetic policy! Obviously I'm not going to give a stranger all of my details! Another nail in the coffin for J.L. I can't believe as a retailer that you're still open! You certainly won't get my custom any more!

Dreadful customer service at John Lewis Bluewater. I attended to return a faulty product (still…read morewell within waranty) and their manager Karen Wise refused to even look at the product or receipt of purchase. She told me I would have to come back another time as their tech team was unavailable when all I needed to do was plug it in and it would be evident it wasn't working. She told me she couldn't advise when the Tech team would be available and lied saying she knows nothing about tech when it later transpired that she was the former manager of the tech department. She was deliberately trying her hardest to be obstructive and cause unnecessary distress. Absolutely awful experience and I will never be returning, which is a shame as they were good once upon a time. Perhaps they need to have a change up of their clique of management.

First time here in maybe a decade or so, I was surprised to find it had held up remarkably well..it hasn't dated that badly and doesn't feel like the poor neighbour to the recent Westfield Centres in West & East London. Writing this review on Nov 1st, I'd suggest (if you can) to avoid it from now until around mid January as it will heave, throng, and burst at the seams due to Christmas / January Sales... Instead there are lots of higher-end stores ranging from designer clothing to designer cosmetics and designer gadgets. Actually, it's not all second-mortgage shopping here - there are some 'normal' shops too, they're just a bit nicer than most high street equivalents. There are oodles of places to get a snack on the way round, like Starbucks etc. and there is a giant foodhall with choices for the discerning and not so discerning among you. On that note, a trip to Bluewater isn't complete without a trip to Ed's Diner - have one of their awesome burgers and a spectacular milkshake to find out why. Just make sure you eat when you're finished shopping though as you will just about be able to stagger to your car afterwards with the feeling in your belly. If you go at Christmas there are some superb lights outside as you approach the car parks - giant deers are among the best ones, but be warned, it can get super busy there too. Ample parking means it's not such a chore to go and the whole place is big enough that you don't feel crammed in - it's akin to a lot of the big malls in the States, and one of the best shopping trips (if there is such a thing) you can make in this country.

It has main department stores located at each point - Marks and Spencer, House of Fraser and John Lewis. In between these are too many shops to mention, from your high end designer outlets to your regular High Street names such as Next, New Look, Burton, etc. That being said, you will not find shops like Primark and Peacocks. Each part of the triangle has its own name, i.e. Rose Gallery etc and there are maps located at every point of the triangle, if you can't find that particular shop. There are plenty of eateries and restaurants to choose from with something for all tastes. There is McDonalds and Burger King but also Loch Fyne, TGI Friday's, Carluccio's, Nando's etc. The centre itself is light and airy with high ceilings and a feeling of spaciousness, even on a busy day. There is masses of free parking too. Shopping isn't all that's at Bluewater though - there is a multiplex cinema (10 screens I think) and if that's not enough, you can even do some boating outside and feed the fish!

This shop is great if you need to purchase an outfit for a special occassion. On the first floor they have many concessions such as Ted Baker, Warehouse, Oasis, Top Shop, Coast and many others. In my experience the staff have always been very helpful. On two occasions they have helped me to put together a whole outfit (like a freee personal shopper). They also have great sales so look out for the sale dates in the press and tv.

M&S food is always so nice, and because you park outside, you can get as much shopping as you like without having to walk through the shopping centre with all your shopping bags. M&S always has a currency exchange. I have used M&S twice now to change my money into dollars, and everytime i have found the rate fantastic and the staff really nice and helpful with my queries. The homeware section is also fantastic. A great range of homeware and all at very affordable prices.

Nowadays, House of Fraser is basically a collection of small retail nodes, with clothes from shops or designers who already have a presence in Bluewater. As such, this place strikes me as entirely pointless. Why look at a smaller range of clothes, all packed in, when you can see a bigger range in a bigger space? It has a lot of stuff, much of it decent, it just doesn't make sense to me to buy it here.

It's also a good place to buy items to put in home made christmas crackers like the old fashioned fish that curl up in your hand and jumping beans (remember them?). I bought quite a few little stocking fillers like a growing penguin, a little man that my toddler can bend bubbles, a Kazoo (that you blow) all for under £1 each. This shop will take you back to your childhood. The service is also really good as I asked if they sold a certain type of item and the lady said they used to and went to their store room to see if they had any of the items left. Unfortuantely they did not but she went out of her way to help me.
