One of the team members, Elise or Eli's was locking up the park and doing his search of the park and stumbled upon my wallet. Not only did I not know realize I left my wallet, but Elise took it into his own hands and searched the Aventura data base and called my house to let me know that I left my wallet. If it wasn't for Elise and the staff, I would never have known and would have been frantically searching the next day. However, Elise called around an hour after I left and made sure I retrieved my wallet. So for that I thank you and the staff! The park has always been home for me and my dog. The staff is an extended family that is always helpful and amazing to our community. Aventura park is one of a kind.

McTyre Park was once part of the town of Pembroke Park. After West Park became incorporated they took over running the park. In 2023 McTyre Park received a brand new playground. The park also has basketball courts and a soccer field, picnic pavilions and restrooms. McTyre Park has the town senior center and there are activities every day as well as field trips. There is also a kids soccer league. Parts of McTyre Park can be rented from the town of West Park for private events. Parks and greenspaces like those found in McTyre Park bring the community together. The modern playground and well maintained sports fields draw all ages to the park but one of the best features of the park is its role as a hub for community engagement and social activities. This park is named after President Thomas Jefferson as it sits on Jefferson Street. Jefferson Park has a number of recreational amenities making it highly desirable to neighborhood residents. There are four lighted tennis courts, paddleball courts, two basketball courts, 2 bocce courts, restrooms, playground equipment, and a baseball/softball field. On the night I visited the park was filled with people enjoying every area. The tennis and basketball courts and the playground in particular were filled with people playing games and delighting in the great weather outdoors. In 1903 in Deerfield Beach, the Reverend B. F. James was the first teacher in the first black…read moreschool in Broward County. Later James became the principal of the two-room Hallandale Community School from 1920 to 1927. In the 1950s, it became the B.F. James Elementary School, then later the B.F. James Adult Education Center. Today BF James Park sits on the site of the city's first black school. In 2014 the community gave feedback to the city that they wanted a pool. The pool and park is part of Hallandale Beach's Citywide Parks Master plan. It was the second city park to be completed in the first phase of the plan. BF James Park received a five million dollar complex that includes a beach style swimming pool with exercise lanes. Other park amenities added included exercise stations, a covered playground, and two new basketball courts. The building of this park fulfilled a 40 year old promise the city made to this community to provide a pool after the old Dixie pool fell into a state of disrepair. It is nice to see that the city of Hallandale Beach honored their commitment to this neighborhood with this beautiful park.
