First the shakes here are so wonderfully good! We get a mix of coconut and soy soft serve . Of course we ask for added whipped cream. We add toppings and syrups and we love all of them. Ask for the seasonal new options when you go in. Sit outside with your pets and enjoy the fires hot, w the yummy ketchup. I think I've tried all the burgers here and my new favorite is the spicy chickn burger! It's so good! My fam and friends all agree even if they aren't fully vegan, this is the spot! Please open up more locations, like a drive thru even. Maybe a pouch to keep sides hotter, like the fries would be helpful.

First of all I thought this was Super Duper burger. The color scheme and location was almost the same. Second of all I had absolutely no clue that this place was 100% vegan . No beef. They really don't advertise as such . I used the touch screen kiosk. The pics the interface I had the assumption this was a legit beef burger place. I chose the cheeseburger tater tots with a couple of sauces ghost pepper ranch and regular ranch . The shakes page was very confusing all were organic and the options were coconut or soy based. I have no clue what this means I had to ask. The end result was not to my liking . I ordered cookie dough chocolate shake. It didn't taste like a normal shake at all and I understand the healthy business model. The burger was average I had a n impossible burger before and they just aren't the same as beef and this one had no aroma it looked like a real cheeseburger but it wasn't satisfying. I felt like I was tricked when I came here. Just remember this place doesn't have real meat. Don't make the same mistake it did thinking I was getting a real beef burger meal. For all the vegetarians there is a reason why by this place has been open for so long it's because of your guys demand of vegan and gluten free food. I'm all about health and watching red meat intake and UPF Ultra Processed Foods and their link to diseases. The communal seating setup is kinda oddly put together. Service is friendly but this is probably my first and last time here. I meant to go to Super Duper burgers on the opposite side of the this Concord shopping center with Luxe movie theater and Dave and busters yard house etc.

Located in Whole Foods. Pretty impressive! Great option for an in-store burger joint. We grabbed a quick meal while out for groceries for our NYE party :D Can place your order on the kiosk or with staff. The entire menu is plant-based, including the shakes. Staff are warm and welcoming :-) CHICK'N BACON RANCH BURGER: Soft bun + fresh veg + hearty chicken substitute! Very filling. The chicken could be crispier/firmer, but I think it just comes with the territory of veggie meat. CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIE DOUGH SHAKE (soy, no whipped cream): THICCC. They even give a boba straw. You'll have to wait for it to melt a bit before even thinking about drinking more. I think this could pass the DQ flip check... For flavor, the soy is noticeable, but doesn't overpower the sweet cookie dough. My bf and I loved this. The premises are actually kept pretty clean! I feel like these types of spots fall into disarray fast, but the seating areas were tidy with no mess to be seen.

A great vegan spot located in the Whole Foods. They have amazing salads and sandwiches. Everything taste just like the real deal, just plant based. My go to spot when I am looking for a healthy plant based lunch.

I got the crispy chik'n burger and yes it was crispy! I also got the strawberry shake. Both were delicious! I added American cheese and jalapeños but I think the burger would have been fine without the additions. Great customer service and they have a list of possible allergens. I'm not allergic to any food but my kids are and it's great to know what has nuts in it.

I was shopping in Whole Foods and I always wanted to try this place. My friend recommended it to me, so I gave it a try. Ordering was very simple and the worker answered all the questions I had. Eventually, I settled for the Beyond Burger and Sweet Potato Fries. Beyond Burger: I'm a huge fan of beyond meat and they hit the spot for this. It was a rather straightforward burger with all the fixings. I got it with a small order of sweet potato fries and I give them a bonus for using krinkle cut fries, which is my favorite. It was somewhat crispy and the sauce they gave you paired well. Overall, I can see myself coming back here again.

I moved away for a few years for schooling and such, but prior to moving Next Level Burger was always one of my favorite places to stop and get some quick and delicious food. When I would visit home and drive by, I wondered if it was as good as I remembered, or if it was just a fond memory and good times. I am happy to report that we visited Next Level Burger after recently moving back and it is still delicious after all these years. It is incredibly hard to find even decent vegetarian food, especially healthy, with protein, fast, or affordable. Next Level Burger does the unthinkable and combines all of these. I wish the company didn't close Veggie Grill, another vegetarian fast food spot in Walnut Creek, as it was one of my only other healthy veggie protein options. It has been heavily missed. The menu here is pretty much burgers, shakes and fries, but they are all done very well. There are options of different vegetarian patties for your burger, different sauces, and additions of tempeh bacon and condiments to customize for your perfect burger. Specializing in vegetarian burgers, it's refreshing to have fake meat that isn't overcooked and dried out. The employees have also been kind upon both visits, and the ordering kiosk was convenient and helpful. Our last visit my addition of bacon was missed, but otherwise we have received no less than great vegetarian food. We have already been back, and will continue to do so!

First time and we were excited to try. However, first bite into our burgers and the meat literally broke apart. Sister and I got the signature burger and our sister got the chicken sandwich which she said she really liked and would order again. The sweet potato fries were amazing as were the onion rings. If I come again, I would try the milk shake and definitely get the sweet potato fries. The garlic mayo was amazing. Amy was our cashier and was fun. She was patient with us and made recommendations.

Awesome! Fast casual joint inside of the Whole Foods. They have something for everybody, with decadent meaty cheesy burgers, healthy mushroom grain and bean burgers, over the top creations, and spicy hot hot hot burgers. I had the blue cheese burger with tempeh bacon and the mushroom and quinoa patty, and my dad had the Maverick Burger with BBQ sauce and onion rings which he loved.

I really wanted to like this place because it's plant based, but my burger came out burnt and the tots were dark brown rather than golden brown due to using old, degraded frying oil.

Came up to Pittsburg to visit my grandmother and was super excited to try this place out. I wasn't disappointed. I'm a big sweet potato fry fan and their fries are soooo yummy. I recommend getting a milkshake from here. I love that you have the option for soy based or coconut based shakes. So if you don't eat soy you can have a shake! What really stood out to me was the service. The guy who took our order and brought us our food was so nice. He brought us napkins and waters to where we were sitting outside the store. It is a serve yourself type of place where you get your own condiments and such. He even brought out ketchup for us. I also liked that the portion size was decent. It wasn't huge like I was expecting but a perfect size to fill you up but not make you feel extremely full afterwards. They need to come down to Southern California! read more

I wanted a fat juicy burger! Figured my family and I would try a new place. Next Level Burger sounded great. We walked in ordered and as we were waiting she explained that this is a pure plant based restaurant! Aka veggie burgers. I said ehh ok never had before will go in with an open mind aaaaaaaaaand! Absolutely Dog Shit! Straight nasty! Omg what a waste of $35. Expensive too! $35 dollars for fake meat! Wtf! At least the Fries were ok. read more

Disappointed during this visit. Menu changed with smaller portions, higher prices, and food was not as good this time. They don't have bread anymore, just buns, which are slightly sweet. It's unfortunate. Also, we ordered to dine in and they packed it for take out, and never gave us the trays to dine in. We just ended up eating out of the bag. Won't be back again. read more

Nice place, nice food, and nice staff. The chick with the blue hair is awesome! Since it was my first visit I asked the tall guy that took my order to recommend a burger. I ordered the Beyond Burger with smoked gouda and a small order of fries. The burger was really good. I was impressed w/ the fact it was plant-based. I'm not a vegetarian and I thought they nailed the flavor. The fries were a bit dry and the portion was very small. My one complaint about this place is their prices. It was nearly $17 dollars for a burger and small fry, no drink. That's a lot for a casual lunch and will keep me from coming here more often . read more

Had their spicy chick'n sandwich and it was so good, not to leave out the yummy brownie soy milkshake! Service was great and the food is justification to drive to Concord from San Jose! As a fellow vegan, it's always wonderful to have more local places opening up with plant based food items! I've eaten here twice now and have enjoyed my food. The shakes are amazing too! Mine was soy based, but can be coconut milk based. However, the food is extremely expensive! I paid $13 for regular fries and a hotdog, no drink. When I ordered it to go, they shoved my hotdog in a hamburger box and it was a mess when I opened it up once I got home. I expect better quality if I'm going to pay $13 for that. Your best bet is to just eat there and not get anything to go to prevent that problem. read more

Seriously the staff here is almost as good as it can get! Whoever does the hiring is doing a great job... the new menu additions are beyond the best things to happen this week. Tonight I had the kale salad... the side was way more then enough for me. I tried the mushroom fries and subbed the pepper jack cheese... I've never had provolone in real life let alone vegan some things might be better not done.. the holiday Kombucha is to die for I wish I could have it all the time. Ps if you haven't tried next level you should and remember to tip the staff if you do an online order cause there still isn't place for a tipped. read more

I think my expectations for Next Level were too high based on a friend's recommendation. My meal was $20 for a Gardein burger I could have made at home. Still, the shake was good and it's great to have access to a vegan meal that is decent. Next time, I will order the patty which is made by Next Level, as opposed to the branded Beyond Burger or Gardein burger. AMBIENCE: This outlet is in a Whole Foods 365, so it's really more like a to go spot with some seating. FOOD: I had heard that they have good "meat" burgers. In reality, they offer the Beyond Burger and a Gardein patty. I eat Beyond Burgers at home so I tried the other burger. (Why don't they serve the Impossible Burger which is better than Beyond Burger?) It's not on the menu as a Gardein patty, but I recognized the patty as soon as I bit into it. It's good, not great, and is something I could have made at home. I should have followed the advice of their counter person, who recommended the housemade burger made with quinoa and other ingredients. I think that would have been a better choice and will try it the next time. The chocolate shake with coconut "ice cream" was really good. The price point is high. My burger, fries and shake came to $20, not including tip. I know overhead is high, but but seems steep to me. The high prices also make plant-based fast food unavailable to everyone except the more affluent. SERVICE: The counterperson was great. Welcoming and helpful. read more

Came here yesterday Food was AMAZING so why the two stars you ask? That is because of the staff One person in particular I didn't catch her name though I ordered a burger with no onions or tomato (o have a tomato allergy) the cashier repeated my order correctly, I got my number and sat down My shake came out first (coconut blueberry and pomegranate...it's literally to die for!) Shortly after my burger arrived...with tomato (I asked for no tomato and the cashier confirmed it) no biggie...I let the girl who brought it know o asked for no tomato due to my allergy She apologised and said they would make me a new one Once again no biggie Shortly after the last I mentioned came and said next time I come in o needed to stress my tomato allergy...as a server my first thought is "why the hell cant you just make the order the way I gave it to you??" I said "well...I said no tomato" but before I could even finish my last word she cut me off and said "you need to let us know from the beginning cu then we need to take it and build it from the ground up and we don't want you to spend your lunch break waiting" It wa kind of her to think of my break but once again as a server it's your job to take an order properly and make sure your kitchen makes it properly So if someone is allergic to tomato and the specifically say "no tomato" you don't question it you just make the burger and exclude tomato I pride myself on being a server and I take responsibility for the mistakes that happen in my line of work Where you messed up wa making me...the customer feel like it was MY fault that YOUR kitchen didn't make the order correctly If anything what I should have gotten was an apology but the word "sorry" never came out of her mouth That being said I will never return to this place read more

This place is a total shitshow. I never even got to try the food, because over 30 minutes after placing my order I still had not received it.I inquired several times of the guy who took my order and he just kept smiling and seemed totally unconcerned. That is, when he was not twirling his fingers through the bleach blond bob of hair at he back of his 'do and then touching the food he was delivering. Oh yeah, his nose ring also seemed to be giving him sinus issues and he kept wiping snot against his sleeve. During the time I was waiting for my food, two of the staff sat down with full plates of food and leisurely chowed down. I live down the block and was hoping that this would present a good dining option, but I will not be going back or recommending it to anyone. Unless they're on a starvation diet read more

This was my first time here. The line was moving very slow. I ordered all American, fries and a banana shake. It took a while to have the order ready, even though on average there were 2-3 people on the line. (Noway busy time of the day) The portions looked small, it cost me about $19 for all that, which felt pricey for a single meal. I went in hoping to find a vegan burger to fall in love with. They were extremely busy, and still had an amazing experience. Once the food that was slightly delayed to come out came out it was spot on. Many apologies were given previous to the food coming out. Once things slowed down, and the manager was able to come out she insisted on giving us complementary shake card. I have tried the all-American with blue cheese, the crispy chicken burger, the chili chz dog, and the kraut dog. I would recommend all of them, but the kraut dog was my favorite!! Also, you have to get the baked tater tots! read more

My fiance is vegetarian, so we're always on the look out for vegetarian or vegan friendly restaurants. One of our friends recommended Next Level Burger, so we thought we'd give it a try. Next Level Burger is located inside the Whole Food 365 at the Veranda in Concord. Next Level offers 100% plant based food. We ordered the following: the classic burger with cheddar style cheese, the next level dog, and french fries! My fiance was pretty happy with his food. As a carnivore, it was a bit of an adjustment to eat a meatless burger, but the burger, overall, was pretty good. We will definitely be back! read more

Who said that you gotta go without when you eat vegan! Next Level Burger serving all the American classics you know and love with 100% plant based ingredients! The new Concord store is clean and crisp and the staff is super friendly. If you have any questions about the menu they're really helpful and offer a range of soy free and gluten free options. My first time there I went big and opted for The Animal, which was serious business indeed. If you don't think you could tackle that bad boy but you want the full NLB experience, I suggest checking out a Classic combo. I tried a Signature Burger, Spicy crinkle cut Fries and a Salted Caramel Shake. The burger was good, the fries were ridiculous but the shake!!! Dairy free and delicious! I highly recommend going with the Soy option as it was really creamy. Overall I was really impressed and it was hard to believe everything was meat free!!! Been there five times for lunch. Good. Today not so good. Ordered the Classic burger with everything on it and fries. Patty was pale and barely warm, big globs of mayo and mustard all on one side of the burger. Kind of thrown together. No line, i was the only customer. Left most of it behind. Comsidering Super Duper Burger is down the street and has a veggie burger. Something to consider. read more

Tried Next Level for the first time over the weekend. Pretty darn good! I had the classic burger with grilled onions and baked sweet potato fries. This is my new happy place! I'm vegan and have celiac so it's really hard to find places to eat out. I'm home for the holidays from MA and was looking for somewhere to eat. I was excited to try this place- burger AND fries AND shakes? All vegan! 90% gluten free?! Yasssssss! My sister (meat eater) had classic fries (HEAVEN!) and the Special burger. She loved the fries and liked the burger but had a hard time with it not being animal flesh. My mom ordered the grilled cheese sandwich and ate the entire thing, which surprised me because she's not a fan of "fake" anything. I ordered the SoCal Burger on gf bun. OMG! The bun!!!!! It was real! Not two sad slices of bread. I've never seen such a beautiful gf bun! The burger was really good- definitely satisfied my craving. I ordered the bbq blue cheese tarors but was so full that i took them to go. If they're anything like my sisters- delish! My favorite though- a SHAKE! A vegan, gf, pumpkin pie shake!!!!! I don't know the last time i had one because of food issues. It was AMAZING!!!!! I seriously could go in and on about the shake. This is my basically my favorite spot and am grateful to have a vegan place right by my house. I recognize all the employees, they recognize me. They've never messed up and order and I've been coming here basically once or twice a week since it's been open. Great service and great food, I'm waiting very impatiently for the breakfast menu though. read more

NLB was born when its founders Matt and Cierra de Gruyter realized that what they wanted for their family--healthy, sustainable, delicious food--could be for everyone. Meet the Business Owner: Matt D.

We started with one big idea; the right food can save the world. Next Level Burger founders, Matt and Cierra de Gruyter, took their big idea and risked everything to see it come to life with America's first 100% plant-based burger joint. Matt and Cierra had a comfortable life for their young family, but they were very uncomfortable with what they saw happening in the world - escalating climate change, unhealthy eating and a fundamental problem with where people get their food - they felt a clear urgency to do something about it.

We walked in at 5:30pm and were immediately greeted by the lone female server, who seated us at a table towards to back of the restaurant. The interior was very clean, and lighting was soft and warm. The giant restaurant logos on the walls were prominently displayed. Their menu featured a wide array of appetizers, soups, bibimbaps, cold and hot noodles, meat dishes, etc. We opted against their signature kalbijjim and instead got three entrée combos (L.A. galbi, spicy pork, and bulgogi). Each entrée came with our choice of tofu soup. Half a dozen banchans were brought to us before the arrival of the entrées. The buchu (chives) and baechu (Napa cabbage) kimchi were excellent. Our food took about 15 minutes to arrive. Portion wise, the tofu soups were of decent size, but the meat entrées were kind of stingy (they were served in small round skillets). I had the seafood tofu soup and it was very good. It was loaded clams, shrimp, and squid. We shared the entrées, and they all tasted great. The only gripe I had was a couple pieces of the galbi had very little meat on them. Service we received was great. Our server was friendly, helpful, and efficient. The total was somewhere around $130 (with a bottle of soju, a tangerine slushy, and a soda). Overall, we all thought the food was good. Return trip very likely. 4 stars. Ordering is done at the counter and you are given a number to place at your table. Your food is brought to you. There's about 15 tables. Some for two and most are for four. This review is only for the shake. I'd been wanting to try this place for their vegetarian options, but stopped by after lunch while grocery shopping and settled on a strawberry shake instead. They have non-dairy options with coconut milk, soy milk or a 50/50 mix. FYI I can't remember if they even offer it with regular milk. Got it with coconut milk so it had a slight coconut flavor but wasn't overpowering. The size was a little smaller than what I expected but I think it's good to have portion control. And I'm willing to spend a little more to have better quality and dairy free ingredients. I thought the milkshake was good, but more excited to try their burger options in the future! read more

We came here to see options for vegan food near the area. The service was great. The lady that helped us was friendly and fast. She asked us if we had come here before. After we told her know so proceeded to explain a bit about the food and what were some of the options. We ordered the chik n, the classic and the Mexicalli. We also ordered the spicy fries and the sweet potatoes fries. The spicy friends had a white sauce on top which was not the best and it could have been spicier, Two of the burgers were pretty good but not the chik,n one. We also order the lemonade and it was perfect, not to sweet, not too bland. read more

I love the Next Level! I have spent many a time visiting this place and just love it. The people that work there are SO nice and always make my husband and I feel welcome. They greet us by name, which is totally awesome. My favorite it the SoCal burger and love their tots and crinkle fries. They have divine shakes, you have to try one if you go. You don't even have to be a vegan or vegetarian to eat here. I promise it is so so good! read more

Excellent!!!! If you like burgers, fries and shakes, check out next level burger in concord. Good selection of burgers and some delicious vegan burgers too. They also serve shakes in a chilled metal container. Good parking and plenty of seating. Definitely recommend this place. read more
