The PA Elizabeth Williams was extremely rude and had the worst attitude. I will not be returning solely because of her. She made me feel so stupid for getting a covid test(I was exposed and needed one to return to work) basically telling me the test doesn't mean anything tomorrow or a week from now so there's no reason i should be getting it. (Tell that you the rest of AZ?? What?) She then told me the test was pointless because if I'm living with someone that has covid I either have it or will get it. My appointment was at 9 for a simple physical, they open at 8. Waiting for over an hour and a half to be seen and they were telling people as they entered they are now over an hour and a half behind, keep in mind I was the only one waiting when I got here. I really do find it somewhat frustrating that when you plan to have a smooth visit to the doctor. I went online to make an appt at nextcare for the following day i made an appt for 1230. Its now currently 127 minutes after my appt time and im still in the waiting room. I realize the new norm is poor customer service and the lack of giving a s$&$ about the consumer. If you plan on coming here I would suggest not to make an appt its a waste of time just walki in and enjoy the bland waiting room. It may help relieve the expectation of having a set time. Just plan on coming with a book or newspaper. Im quite sure youll be able to read many many many pages. Every staff member was rude. From the front desk gal to the NP. There was a precious 4 year old who seemed to have cut open her chin that I overheard the nurses taking about outside my room. We usually use this place for our sports physicals, LOVE the online appointment & check in feature. But recently we actually had to use this for medical and it was great. Dr. Mahoney talked us thru the whole procedure (toe nail removal from a really bad stub toe), kept asking my son how he was doing, and treated him like a real patience (not just a walk in). I arrived there this evening feeing awful from my Covid Omicron symptoms. This has been the second time that the staff was rude and cold. When she asked for my insurance card and photo ID I gave it to her and waited and she told me to sit down. Wait times are awful and a patient that arrived after me was called before me.When my husband asked what was taking so long she said, "huh"? We knew our deductible had been met as my husband just had open heart surgery. She did not listen and said she would have to charge a copay. At the point we left and I asked for my cards back. Absolutely HORRIBLE patient care!! My husband made an appointment for 6:30 and was seen just before 8 (closing time) and the staff could be heard in the halls singing that it was time to close and patients are dumb. VERY unprofessional!! The NP or PA or whatever "doctor" saw my husband was very rude and demeaning when talking to him about his problem and my husband is a paramedic so he understands medicine. We made an appointment(which we were told after an hour was really a placeholder) and waited over an hour. They were not busy. At the one hour mark, I told the young receptionist that my wife had an appointment, it had been an hour and she really wasn't feeling well(there for a covid test). I use to love this location but the last time I was there was unacceptable. First their systems were down, which is fine if I was made aware before I continued with the appointment. I took my sick children here right when they open at 8am. No one was there but it still took over 45 minutes to be seen. The nurse was very nice as well as the dr. My issue is the time it took. I was there for over 2 hours from start to finish!!! Most of it was waiting. I was the only one in the office. Because their systems were down I had to wait for a paper prescription which took 25min to write! I also am still waiting on test results 6 days after. I was told it would take 48 hours to get it back. Don't waste your time. Your better off going to CVS. read more

I live right next to this location but my family will no longer be patients here. We have been coming to this location since we moved to the area about 5 years ago. The last few times we have had horrible customer service by the front office staff. The woman that usually sits at the front counter is very unwelcoming and appears to be annoyed she has to be there. Today we found a new Urgent care, its a little further away but well worth it! I've been to this location multiple times and am always seen quickly and treated in a professional manner. John has great bedside manner and thoroughly explains everything. Most of the time when I visit I do indeed need an antibiotic but this last visit my cultures looked good and i didn't need any medication. I really appreciate the fact that he doesn't Just give you meds because you want, or think you need a prescription. The intake nurse (or MA) is really personable and a pleasure to talk to. The facility is very clean and it's definitely my Urgent Care of choice in South Gilbert. read more

I hadn't been to this location in about a year and was appalled by the treatment my daughter and I received from the moment of check to check out. The only person that was respectful and cordial was the MA that took my daughters vitals. She is ALWAYS consistent in her personality. The front desk women were rude and offensive. I had hoped that was just them but when we made it back to the NP, she as well was horrifyingly rude. We will never be back. NextCare on Higley and Chandler Heights on 01/12/2021. I am livid, as well, in regards to how this location handled a request to get a rapid COVID test. I am writing on behalf of my family. We all came into contact with COVID from a member of our household. Naturally, we went to take a test the minute we found out. I went early in the morning; the rest of my family in the afternoon. I was greeted coldly but thought nothing of it and went on to get my rapid test. A few hours later, my family went to get it and were treated poorly as soon as they walked in. They were scolded by the front desk receptionist for being in this situation ... why would you get mad at someone for needing a COVID test in the middle of a pandemic? It's off-putting and there was a more professional way the receptionist could have spoken to us. If anything, at the very least, while you are all working in health care... treat your patients with respect... at the VERY least. If only there was ZERO STAR. Reviews were right. Husband was right. Front desk lady was polite and professional, the nurse who took my son's vital signs was friendly. Waiting time was understandable since its a sick season and just right after the holiday. Until we met the NP who assessed my son. My son had on and off low grade fever for more 9 days with cold and cough that has subsided on this visit. ( I called this in his pediatrician's triage nurse and was instructed to just monitor since it was low grade fever without any other worsening symptom). But had spiked a fever 101.6 so we brought him in. He was tested for strep and flu and was negative. NP assessed that there was no ear nor throat infection. NP did not have time to listen and was quick to judge without any diagnosis. She said we need to test for covid. I asked why. I said he tested negative for Covid on Dec 23rd and had no exposure since he was just at home with no exposure outside, and he was the only one sick. She said because my son had a new symptom.. headache. And then left the room. I could see during the conversation that she didnt want to listen and was very impatient when I couldnt describe thoroughly what my son's discomfort was. "What kind of discomfort...!" Using a very irritated tone of voice. Very rude and over her self. She needs to mind her bedside manner, she is not even a doctor. After the encounter, I called in another NP for a second opinion. Because the NextCare NP only instructed us that if covid is negative then to f/u with pediatrician. Ofcourse how long will it take to get an appt during this holiday season? Not even a preventative medication given since its more likely not viral but maybe bacterial... how would I know that? The second NP assessed sinuses, as easy as that. Sinus infection or sinusitis from the mucus that has been there. And prescribed antibiotic right away. Well ofcourse, my son's sinuses was not assessed by the NP at your urgent care. She would have if she only listened to my sons history of being sick. Son had headache and post nasal drip that wouldnt go away. Your NP was in experienced with very poor bedside manner at the same time. And ofcourse as expected I told them that was told that the covid test will be negative- it was negative. Your NP was So quick to finalize her assessment and end it with a covid test. Thank you. Husband was right that we will not get the right care and treatment if we went at your urgent care. Son started with the antibiotic and now fever free and more comfortable. Thanks to the other NP. No thanks to Next Care Urgent Care NP. read more

This location is horrible! They are so rude! Today i went with my 18 year old daughter who is currently away at college and she's been sick there for over a month, she has seen Drs in her college town but she doesn't always know what to ask for yet when it comes to her healthcare because she is still so young and not quite confident, today I took her to this location because she's home and visiting and still sick, she wanted me to go back in the room with her so that I could also speak with the Dr on her behalf and possibly request a chest X-ray let's not forget I am still financially responsible for her. And the nurse refused to let me go back with her because of her age even though my daughter stated she wanted me there. The nurse then said I will determine what will be done for treatment! Um not cool at all she not 30 she just turned 18 going alone is very new to her she wanted me there, the nurses demeaner was beyond rude! Went in with my friend to get her checked out, she was completely unwell, she was crying, hands covering her eyes, and was about to pass out, we didn't schedule An appointment and we were a walk in but we were sitting there for over an hour waiting just to get in, the lady at the front desk kept giving me glares and looking at me any time she would move to the back. At the hour point, I'm upset from watching my friend sitting there in pain suffering just wanting to get checked out, all healthcare providers should have a priority list for when they see someone walk in and they are physically unwell, so much for the name 'urgent' care. Not to mention, being a healthcare facility, can you wear your masks correctly? Both front desk attendants were wearing them under their nose, and the one lady who was sitting up front the entire time, on multiple occasions would fully bring their mask down and sit at the computer. We are still in a pandemic, and with my friend who was on the verge on throwing up, it was just rude. I wouldn't recommend ever going here if you have any urgent problems, don't go here. Try banner health or anything else, because they'll just stare at you while you're in pain. Other urgent cares will actually get you in on priority. read more

i never write reviews even when i receive terrible service because i totally understand people have hard days... but this was unbelievable. i went in today to get a covid test and all was going well. the front desk and nurse were super nice and helpful. i got my covid test done by a physician who was clearly unprepared. as he was swabbing my nose he spilled the solution from the test tube all over my face and some went in my mouth. he doesnt clean me off but rather continues to test me. then after says "well i hope i have enough solution left". then he gets a tissue and instead of handing it to me he starts blotting my eyes and says "i hope none of that got in your mouth". i said "some of it did" and he then says "alright we are all done and we will get those results to you when we can". i immediate left and proceeded to rinse my mouth with water in the parking lot. i already had anxiety from doctors/hospitals and this made it 100% worse. read more

DO NOT GO HERE! If you are looking for awful care, you'll get it. They do not care about you, or your family. Find a place that has good reviews where the DOCTOR (not NP or PA) actually want to spend a little time with you. If I could give a 0 star, I would! I sent my husband here to have his knee checked out due to his severe pain. His knee started buckling on him and he was struggling getting any sleep. Keep in mind, my husband has had some significant medical issues and deals with pain daily. He hates going to doctors so if he goes to see someone, it's bad. He got to NextCare and waited almost 1 hr before someone saw him. There was no one in the lobby. The PA or NP he saw, spent about 5 minutes with him and told him to take muscle relaxors and offered a pain shot. He told the NP that it's not a pulled muscle and that he does not want either of those items but only a MRI so we can deal with the underlying issues (remember, it's now been 5 years of medical issues so we fully understand when there's a real concern). The NP told him that if he's unwilling to take muscle relaxors then she's not going to give him a MRI even though this is what he needs to determine what's going on in his knee. It was such an awful experience, that I called and talked to both the NP and Office Manager. They said they don't like to give MRIs out because there wouldn't be the appropriate followup on it. Read below...you'll understand why. I finally got them to give him an ultrasound which I took him to the same day. The tech advised the results would be sent immediately and everyone we spoke with was flabbergasted that they ordered an ultrasound but not a MRI. We waited 3 days before my husband called for results (to NextCare)...which they said they didn't get yet cause their "fax machine is having issues". Four hours later the NP called and told him he had a little cyst in his knee...or at least they said, "I think it's a cyst".This wack-a-doodle of a place refused to send ANYONE the results including the primary doctor unless the primary doctor called them directly...hence the no followup previously stated. Finally, we scheduled an appointment with a specialist who ordered a...MRI! Surprise! They said he does have a large cyst but they need to know what is causing it and a MRI should have been ordered initially. We're now into the end of the 2nd week of intense issues and he got the MRI yesterday. Today they said he has a complete meniscus tear and will need surgery. But according to this craphole of a place (NextCare obviously), he should take muscle relaxors becuase that will fix it all! read more

When I arrived for my appointment, the staff was very friendly and I only had to wait about 5 minutes to be seen. 1 Stars or less, I went in with really bad pain in lower right side where my apendix is. I spent 5 minutes between blood pressure and seeing the doctor. She poked around and said go to the hospital we aren't sure but it could appendicitis. This little 5 minute visit cost me out of pocket $260.00!! I feel this was worth about $75.00 and that is generous. Never again. I might even have to call Gary Harper of 3tv on this one.. Had a great experience here today! Walked in and had no wait! They immediately took me back to check vitals after I filled out my paperwork. I saw a doctor within 5 minutes of entering the building. Doctor was very nice and got me in and out for a simple issue. I will for sure be coming here again as it's close to my home and a Walgreens is right next door so I can go get medicine as soon as I leave. read more

PLEASE SAVE YOURSELVES DONT GO HERE OR BRING YOUR KIDS HERE.. HERE IS MY STORY This is what happened to me at a Next Care Urgent care center (or at least that is what the sign on the building said). I don't think it's a real urgent care and needs to be looked into I had injured my Wrist and was up all night in so much pain never went to sleep so I went first thing in the morning at 8am to Nextcare at 6343 S Higley Rd Gilbert AZ 85298-4339 on 4/14 (ph 480-748-2712). They took me back to a room did ex-rays and then Tara Mahoney FNP examined my wrist but seem to focused on if the wrist was broken. I had asked her about the ligaments but she had no comment. I asked her what I should do about the pain she stated to take Tylenol as she was sending me home with a prescription the lowest of dosages of steroids and not to mix Advil with the steroids. She never referred me to a specialist she did not seem experienced in ligaments and never brought up Tendinitis. I understand this was not in her field but thought if she did not have answers for me to why my wrist was so swollen and in so much pain why she would of not thought to referred me out. She told me to make sure I wear the split (that I bought at walgreens) during the day but take if off at night when I go to bed so that the swelling would not go up. She also stated that she was not an expert in reading x-rays so she was sending over the x-rays to the radiologist to review and I would get a call back from her either way on the results. I went home and did as instructed ( which I should not have) and took the split off when I went to bed to wake up at about 2am in unbearable pain that I reached out a 24-hour hot line nurse within my insurance co. The nurse was more helpful on the phone than this urgent care when I was actually in the office. I was in so much pain I did not sleep the rest of the night and my wrist was so swollen. I put the split back on although at this point could not strap it as my wrist was so enlarged. I reached out to urgent care when they opened on Sunday morning 4/15 when the receptionist answered I asked to speak with the nurse and she asked me to explain to her what was going on as the nurse was with patients and when I explained the situation I was told that they do not give out narcotics. Keep in mind I never asked for narcotics I was just asking what is wrong with my wrist? Why is it so swollen and causing me so much pain? Once we had the reason we could move on to how we can make my wrist more comfortable. The receptionist lead me to believe they did not believe my pain was real and that I just wanted narcotics which is very unprofessional something you don't want to hear when you are in consistent pain and have not slept now for 2 nights. The "receptionist" did give me the results of the radiology report that they received the day prior (keep in mind they did not call me when they got it back) that there was no broken bones which I already knew. Finally the receptionist stated they would have someone call me back. I received a call back about an hour later from the X-ray tech, Daisy, stating they could no longer assist me that if I needed I could go to the hospital for more testing. I asked her if she had a recommendation on what facility would have a hand/wrist specialist that could assist me she put me on hold and came back and stated she checked with the staff and its not their job to refer me I have to call my insurance or my primary dr on Monday for assistance. When I asked to speak with Tara Mahoney FNP the nurse who examined me I was told she has too many patients to take a minute to talk to me and to wait to talk to my primary on Monday. It was all about getting as many insurance claims in as possible before the end of the day.. Is this a new thing the Drs and nurses no longer consult you and they gave me to a person who never examined me just took my x-rays as well as the receptionist gives you the results. They did not offer me any medical assistance even the brace I have on is from Walgreens. I don't feel this NP is a real nurse as she had no clue what she was doing or was qualified to be in that urgent care unless its true she just there to bring you into a room enough to file an insurance claim because she really does not know her job Sorry I know my frustration is still upsetting, I did eventually go to a "REAL" dr and he did find the issue and gave me the correct dosage and of mediation to bring the swelling down and found out I had Tendinitis. If you google it you will see this is very painful. I know that we have an epidemic of drug addicts which is very sad in our country today. If you have a patient with a very swollen wrist there is a great possibility there is a problem before you accuse someone of not really being in pain and as you see the "real dr" was able to get the swelling down without the use of Narcotics and the swelling is what caused the pain. First I am a 39 year old, stay home mom of 3 girls ages 20,16 and 14. I have spent lots of time in doctors offices. I stopped in today, Saturday because my throats started to seriously hurt at lunch and I leave Monday to California to pick up my kids from camp. When I get sick its usually always in my tonsils or throat and it gets super bad. The PA spent maybe 5 mins total with me blood pressure, breathing, glanced at my throat and swabbed it. I told him I was exposed to strep this week from my mom who lives with us. I know my body and that's why I paid $75.00 when my throat started hurting because by Monday it would be awful! The swab for strep came back negative, which sometimes does when symptoms first start. He tells me nasal drip is causing my symptoms and I probably don't feel the nasal drip but that's what it is. My glands are swollen, I feel crappy and my tonsils hurt. Pretty sure this PA couldn't know anything since he didn't even fill my glands or my lower throat. I asked if it was possible to get antibiotics if I got worse tomorrow he acted like I was asking for pain killers and refused! I asked if I came by Monday before I left to California if I felt worse if he would then see me without another copay since I know my body and I will have tonsils the size of golf balls, he said I would need to pay another copay of $75.00. The PA acted like I was an idiot, like I had never dealt with sore throats and tried to explain in detail nasal drip! Every mom knows what nasal drip is! I tried to explain my history with tonsils and strep he didn't care. This urgent care is a joke! Even though this urgent care is closer to my home I will be taking my family when needed to banner urgent care on Germann and Higley. read more

We decided to go to this urgent care as my company had joined in partnership with them as a place to go to to get a quick covid test. The website showed they still had curbside testing with same day results. When we arrived, they no longer were doing curbside and results were taking 7-14 days.Whereas the service we received from the nurse and doctor was good, this particular facility NEVER answers their phone. Out of the 5 days I tried to contact them to get test results, several times during the day, they answered their phone 1 time. Calling Customer Service did not help- out of the 3 times I contacted them, they gave me wrong information twice. After 12 days of waiting, I received a generic form letter in the mail that was supposed to convey my son's test results, and it literally made no sense- even the customer service rep I contacted to make sense of it mentioned it was very confusing. In the end, the letter indicated they had known my son's test results 6 days after the test was given, yet, I had spoken to 2 customer service reps after that date who told me the results weren't in yet. Upon returning to the facility to get my son's test results because they would not tell me over the phone, I found out the person who had imputed all my son's information into the computer had incorrectly added the wrong contact information and the wrong HIPAA info. The nurse indicated that they tried to get a hold of me (at the wrong phone number) and that I wasn't showing as a HIPAA contact. I also was advised he was showing as 26 (he is 16) and I am the one who filled out and signed all the paperwork, including the HIPAA info. What a calamity of errors. I am lucky that I have other urgent care options with my insurance- I will never be going to NextCare again. read more

I took my daughter there tonight to get a x-ray on her ankle to make sure it wasn't broken. We walked in at 7:55pm (they close at 8pm), and as soon as I walked I apologized for the time. The front office person didn't say anything just asked the date of birth of my daughter, I gave it to her. She proceeded to tell me I needed to fill out paperwork. I started to fill it out and again apologized because i knew they were closing soon. She finally looks at me and say "well I don't even know if the provider can even see her because it's 8pm" I looked at my phone and said "well no actually it's 7:57pm. She continues to tell me in their system it 8pm and she walked into the back to see if the provider can even see my daughter. She comes back out at 7:58pm and says "Sorry the provider has already left for the night." Wait what??? You aren't even closed and your provider is gone??? Never again will I take my kids to this Next Care! read more
