I was stressing because the first company had no equipment, no professionalism, no communication skills, and lacked ability to do the job. I've seen some transport companies lack in experience and ill-equipped to even start a vehicle. But these guys went above and beyond! They even showed up BEFORE our other car was delivered by another company which was picked up days earlier. We had it transported uncovered and found no damage from rocks or low hanging branches. If I could give this company no stars, I would. Stay the heck away from them! I hired them to ship a car from Olympia Wa to Texas. New to this, I had already negotiated with another company to ship the car but they could not guarantee the car would arrive in Texas on a certain date, so I searched for a different company and fell for a list of best companies, according to Forbes! At the top of the list was Nexus. I called them and told them how the company I was currently talking to couldn't give me an exact date of arrival and Nexus told me the company was using unscrupulous practices and said they would deliver the car to Texas on a specific date, or by the following day and no later than. What a relief! Great! They came to my house on July 8th to pick up the car with an ample window to deliver it to Texas on the 15th, no later than the 16th. What they didn't know is that I put a tracking device on the car. So I watched the car move from my house in Olympia, 94 miles away to Vancouver WA, and there it sat the 10th, 11th, and 12th, so I called them. They told me the car would still get to Texas by the 15tb or 16th at the latest. I had made it abundantly clear that I was flying to Texas on the 15th to receive the car and take it to the new owner. They even promised not to deliver it too early on the 15th so I could have time to land and get to the place to meet them. The gal told me the shipping was held up because the transport truck still had room for another vehicle (trying to maximize their load/profit) I told her there was no way the car could ship on the 13th and arrive there on the 15th and she said it could still be possible if they use two drivers. I asked her if two drivers were going to be used and she didn't know. All the while I was watching the location of the car on my phone. On the 13th, it still hadn't moved. I called again, emailed and sent text messages and was finally told the transport truck had broken down. It needed a quick repair and would still ship the car to be in Texas no later than the 17th. So I rebooked my flight, which cost more money. But they could not guarantee the car would get there by the 17th. On the morning of 14th, the car had still not moved, so I called again and was told the car wouldn't get to Texas until the 18th! I had told them repeatedly there was no way I could be in Texas on the 18th. They didn't care at all about the predicament they had put me in. I had rescheduled my hotel, flight, car rental and get someone to work for me. I told them I absolutely could not be in Texas on the 18th so had to cancel the shipment to Texas, telling them I wanted the car returned to me. This was the afternoon of the 14th. They said they would transport the car back to Olympia for $400! And, it would arrive back in Olympia on the 15th or 16th. I would receive a call the day before with the window of time it would arrive. I rebooked my flight to Texas to arrive there on the 17th because I was flying back to WA with my 11 year old grandson on the 18th. The 15th came and went with no word from them so I called again. A rep said she would try to contact dispatch about when the car would arrive to my house on the 16th. She called me back and said she couldn't reach anyone and would let me know the next morning. The next morning a text message came telling me the car would be returned to Olympia on the 18th!!! I called them I'd drive to Vancouver and get the car myself!! That was today, the 16th. Then they told me they wanted $210 for me to pick up the car. They arranged for me to meet someone in Vancouver and my husband drove me there. I figured they'd try to hold my car hostage for the money once I got there but the dude gave me the car without asking for money, which seemed reasonable, since they had done nothing but cost me money, time and stress! When I arrived back in Olympia, I got a frantic call from the dude who released the car to me, nervously saying, "You just picked up your car and I was supposed to collect $400 from you!" I told the guy I wouldn't pay it and to have his supervisor call me. An hour later the supervisor called and told me I owed them $210 dollars. I asked, "FOR WHAT?!! "What service did I receive from you?!" The guy said, "for transporting your car...to ... " then stopped himself. He didn't have a good answer. I got nothing from them but postponement after postponement, a loss of my time, loss of money, not to mention disappointing everyone, the person I had planed to gift the car to and myselfI had to rearrange my work schedule. And now I distrust these shipping companies so much, I'm going to drive the car to Texas myself! I drive an EV, am moving from AZ back to OR and was stressing about the time frame I needed to make the drive to meet the movers, while having to stop to charge, especially if I couldn't find available Level 3 chargers. I didn't want to be waiting around and it seemed the movers of my furniture would beat me to my new home! I decided to have my EV transported and I'd rent a car to drive up. The first company I signed up with had great reviews, but didn't seem to care much about my time frame, showed lack of care in regard to my concerns about pick up (movers coming a specific day and I needed to be headed up that afternoon) and just gave me a 6 day pick up window. 6 days? So... I made back up plans and called Nexus. Their customer service team were great, understood my deadlines and gave a two day pick up window. Also explained all costs and differences between open and enclosed transportation. The first, 2nd and 3rd pick up window day came and went with the first company with no communication (except if I called them) and two days ago the DAY BEFORE my two day pick up window with Nexus, I received not only an email, but a text and phone call letting me know that a transport had been found for my car. This review is for Nexus as I worked with them to find me the transport, I will submit a separate review for DC Auto Transport who picked up my car this morning, once it arrives in OR. I hired Nexus because Forbes Magazine listed them #1. My experience was far from it. Nexus sub'ed my car's transport to KS Shipping. KS Shipping them sub'ed to a driver associated with LUX, a sketchy transport company. The driver "David" from "Georgia" who had a heavy former Eastern block accent and spoke little English, came to pick up my car. He first insisted that I owed more money than Nexus had charged me. He argued with me for several minutes before realizing I was not going to pay him more. He tried to take my car without an inspection and without a Bill of Lading. I insisted on both. I then used the Bill of Lading to track his progress from Washington to Utah. He used back roads, adding many hours to the transport. He called the Utah drop off contact and stated a delivery time. Later, he called and insisted that she pick the car up some 20 miles, through heavy traffic, from the agreed pick up location. We called Nexus and they intervened. The car eventually arrived, essentially unscathed, some 8 hours after the driver's stated drop off. "David" was a dick. He laughed derisively when I took a minute to video the condition of my engine. He was dismissive to me, to the drop off contact, and to an engineer who was there to assist with the transfer. Very unprofessional. I give Nexus two stars instead of one because, with one exception ("Abby") the Nexus contact people were helpful. read more

This is a bad business model. They subcontract to just random people that aren't really accountable to anything. The random guy they used didn't give 24-hour notice, which was mostly fine. He picked up the car at 10 at night, which was kinda weird. Here's the part that concerns me: he makes it over from seattle to dc in 3 days. I like the promptness but this seems fast enough to be reckless. The part that really bothered me is my parents were picking up on the other end since he rushed so quickly, he beat me over there. He had my mother out at 11pm in the middle of nowhere and still told her it'd be another 1.5 hours. He tried to deliver my vehicle at 1am. Then he tried 4am. Calling my wife at 530am even though we're still in seattle. The delivery and pick up feel unpredictable and this time just so outlandishly bizarre that I'm not using this company again. Pretty irritated this guy made my mother wait til the middle of the night and tried to deliver at 1 in the morning. Tldr: completely unpredictable drop off and delivery times/dates, complete non-professionalism from the drivers. read more

I booked an auto transport with Nexus ahead of time for our military move, was given confirmation of pickup date, time and place. The day before we were supposed to move across the country, they said they didnt have any drivers and could not pick up the car. We were literally about to drive across the country with all of our family and belongings. What were we supposed to do with our car? leave it on the side of the road?!
