So this time around after visiting the Orthodontist the decision made was 4 teeth extraction for improving crowding. My daughter went in this afternoon and the front staff greeted us took all our insurance info sent in all the direct billing for us-we pay upfront and the they direct bill for us and we receive the check that's how they work. Baby A. was taken inside in a timely manner and Patricia our dental assistant made her feel so so comfortable.She briefed us with the procedure and Dr. Cross soon came in and made A. at easy securing her the 4 shots won't feel and the extraction would feel nothing but a tug and pressure. All this was done within an hours time-Patrica constantly held my daughters hand and patted on her held she felt so so nice she just told me and Dr. Cross obviously did a great job keeping A. engaged with his short conversations.He is very experienced and gentle. It is a modern and nicely decorated clinic. This clinic has 2-3 dentists. My dentist only works here every Tue since he works on Steeles Ave W the rest of the days. They have a knowledgeable receptionist. My dentist charges reasonable prices (some clinics charge extra). He doesn't do unnecessary dental work. He uses a dental assistant during his dental work. Before the pandemic, the waiting room had enough seating for 4 people. They also gave out free lip balm and green apples. Since the pandemic, there are only 2 chairs, the waiting room is almost barren, and there are no free handouts. The receptionist desk has plexiglass all around it, and there is hand sanitizer on the counter. During pandemic times, you are asked a few questions a few days before the appointment, then you have to answer the same questions when you arrive for the appointment and sign a waiver. You must wear a face mask the entire time until you sit in the dental chair. During pandemic times, there is a heavy duty HEPA filter air cleaner in the waiting room, and in each dental room. After each patient, all their masks and gowns are thrown out and the room closed with newly installed plexiglass doors. The room is emptied for a few mins while the HEPA filter air cleaner cleans the entire room of any lingering droplets. The rules are that if you don't have such an air cleaner, you cannot use the room for 3 hours. So it is cheaper to but an industrial quality air cleaner. The dentist wears a N95 mask and a face shield. Unfortunately it means his voice volume is at 50% of his normal volume. There is free WiFi. Each patient room also has a 32" Sony TV installed above you so you can watch it during dental work. The handle dental insurance claims. You still have to pay first but the submit the claim for you (some people may delay submitting the claim).

For minor cavities, she always suggested to monitor instead of doing filling right away (not like a lot other dentists who are money driven). Her reason was every time you did filling you would lose an extra part of your own tooth. She tried hard to help you extend the lifespan of your teeth as much as possible. The front desk lady, Floor, was also nice and warm. The only reason I did not give a five star was because this place put an extra charge of fluoride treatment on your dental cleaning claim form and a lot of insurance companies did not cover it. All the previous dentist's places I've been to just simply included this service in the three units of scaling.

I called a head asking for prices and if my insurance fully covered teeth cleaning. The current place I visited had full coverage, I didn't have to pay anything at all. I told the receptionist this. The receptionist at this dentist office confirmed to me that I had full coverage for dental cleaning and procedures at their clinic too and I did not need to pay anything when I visit. So I decided to get my teeth cleaned here. On the day of my appointment, I didn't fill out any forms before getting my teethed cleaned. I filled out the forms after my teeth were cleaned. The hygienist and receptionist was really pushy with making me get my X-rays done even though I told her I would like to only get the X-ray to check for wisdom teeth. I did not want to get the X-ray for cavities as I already took them at my other dentist a few months back. She proceeded with the cleaning but I felt like she didn't clean my teeth well. She would scrape a little and then rinse and then scrape and rinse some more. I felt like she spent most of the time rinsing and sucking out the water rather than actually cleaning my teeth. Overall, my teeth did not feel as clean as expected when you visit a dentist. Besides that, when I was done. The secretary made me fill out all the necessary forms and then charged me for the cleaning. I was not expecting this because when I called a week prior to my appointment they told me that my insurance fully covers the cleaning like my dental hygienist and I did not need to pay anything. The secretary told me the plan changed, but my insurance goes by yearly. So clearly they lied to me. There's no way that my plan changed in a week. They obviously are not full coverage but state they are. Pretty much lied to me and tricked me into coming to get my teeth cleaned here and the charging me. I even brought my boyfriend to get his teeth cleaned here too. In the end, I ended up paying around $70, on top of that they also charged my insurance. My boyfriend ended up paying around $80. I tried talking to the manger but she was not in that day. So my mom called to complain for me a few days later because it was their mistake. The manager offered to send me a credit. It's been about month or more since then. However the credit of about $70 never came in the mail. Clearly this place is a SCAM. The people here are not honest or trustworthy. They lie to you to get your business. Avoid visiting this place at all costs.

He does unauthorized work and she is quite afraid of him after her experience. She when in for one problem and after her mouth was frozen he did lots of other things without even asking. When she asked what he did he just said it was necessary with no explanation. When she asked how much it cost it was well over $1000. When she said she didn't have that he tried to sign her up for "financing" for this and to get her signature she asked what the interest rate was at which time he said he could wreck her credit rating and she would never get any loans or a mortgage again. I transferred over the money to her and took her to my dentist who said only what she came in for was needed and that it should have only cost about $250 to $300 and not many times that.

The staff is absolutely friendly from the receptionists (Beata is amazing and a good family friend) to the dentist and hygienists (Dr Chan really isn't bad at all, Dr Abassi is just as good). I find they have perfected their efficiency, barely need to wait to begin my appointment and the staff works so fast I almost forget I went that day. The staff seems to remain the same throughout the last 10 years which is very convenient and feels like a reunion every visit. My whole family goes to this dentist and despite us moving 5 times in the last 15 years all over the city, we always remained clients of theirs and don't anticipate to change for a long time.
