He did not explain in detail why monies should be moved to various accounts and exactly when. As a result, medicaid and tax look back periods were missed and the folks ended up paying more in taxes than they should, and missed deadlines when the law changed on look back periods. When he created the trusts he copied one document to the other and didn't correct all the name and beneficiary changes. I had to review the documents in his office and found all the errors. He blamed it on his staff, but that is shoddy. He's not cheap! We ended up finding out all the flaws to the trusts on our own because he was not available for follow up consultation. He's perfectly intelligent, but the way he explains things to a novice is too fast and without the context needed for comprehension. There was no attendant documentation to help us through the process either, which seems like it could have been created for many of his clients without having to be customized.
