I am extremely disappointed with the uncompleted service provided by Nick, paint contractor we hired to stain our stairs. I had high hopes when Nick assured me he would complete the project within five days and emphasized his commitment to maintaining his outstanding reputation. However, what was initially promised to be a five day project turned into a never ending nightmare that has stretched over two months with no end in sight. I understand that certain circumstances can't be controlled, but I found it unconvincing when many circumstances consistently came up with no follow up and very poor professionalism from Nick. He failed to show up on time, if he showed up at all. It was always up to me to follow up on when he would show up to the job. Despite my attempts to reach out, his lack of professionalism and disregard for my time persisted. He worked on the uncompleted project for no more than four days, and one of the four days was after business hours on a weekday 8pm-11pm, which is dinnertime with my family. I remained flexible, understanding, and even offered him a dinner plate. Nick rushed the project which led to him making mistakes from that day forward that not only he wasn't able to resolve, but also added more damage to work that was completed by another contractor. Nick's repeated mistakes and excessive application of stain have resulted in excessive number of sticky, tacky coats on our stairs. The stain also is on our freshly painted walls completed by another contractor, baseboards, and knob of my front door. I even had to give him a covering cloth to cover my flooring. Nick showed me during the several chances that I gave him in the two months that he had little regard for my time, and lacked the very basic professionalism and expertise for a successful business. As cancellations and the second chances continued to mount, I finally requested a refund. Nick agreed to issue the refund but, unsuprisingly, failed to follow through on his promise. Over 10 business days have passed, and I haven't heard a word from Nick or received my money back. This lack of accountability and failure to honor his commitment only further highlights Nick's unprofessionalism and disregard for his customers. It is evident that he prioritizes his own convenience and profit over fulfilling his obligations and providing quality service. I strongly advise anyone considering hiring Nick to proceed with extreme caution. Based on personal experience, he has proven himself to be unreliable, untrustworthy, and lacking in accountability. Save yourself the frustration by looking elsewhere for a competent and reputable contractor who genuinely values their clients, their own professional reputation, and has the necessary skills and work ethic to deliver on their promises.
