    Welcome to Nicky Doodles

This is such a fun place to come to. Simple and good. I have only been here for ice cream so I can not speak to all the food that they serve. I am up in the area a few times a year and Nicky Doodles is a always a must visit on our way home. It is an extremely easy in and out off the main road and there is always plenty of parking. Walk up to the window and order your favorite Sunday or Ice Cream Cone. They have plenty to choose from and their tem members are always smiling and east to work with. Their portions are a little of the large side so beware when you're ordering if this is just for you. Any flavor-topping I have ever ordered has always been extremely fresh-tasty. THey always to a great job here and we look forwad to this stop all the time. KUDOs to the team at Nicky Doodles.

When you have an ice cream hankering, this is the place to go! Huge portions and very good prices. Especially in this economy. Great selection of sundaes, too! They have indoor seating if you want to get away from the summer heat. The line moves quickly and the staff is friendly! It's a cute 50s theme inside. They also are attached to a restaurant.

After dinner during a work trip, I came here with some friends. It was raining a little bit and the line was a little long. The wait time did give us a chance to review the menu so there's a positive. I was a little indecisive when it was my turn to order, but the cashier had patience with me and helped me choose between two items. After getting our dessert, we ate in the car to avoid the rain. I ordered the Brownie Sundae. It was rich, warm and so good. It made up for the line and I understood why it was so long. If I'm ever in the Rome New York again, I'm gonna try the Cookie Monster Sundae.

Great burger. Awesome dogs with grilled buns. Killer cheese fries. Nuff said. I will go again when in the area. They have a lot big enough next door you can park a semi if your Bob-tail.

Great ice cream and a good variety . A must stop in central New York over the summer. Employ many of our local college age students!

I ordered their dumpster doodle and there was very little macaroni salad on top. Food was just okay, nothing fantastic and a bit slow.

They have a rotating menu that they list on their website (www.saltcitybread.com). By the time I got there mid-afternoon, they were sold out of their seeded (sesame, pumpkin, and sunflower seeds) sourdough. Plain sourdough loaves are $10 and the sourdough with inclusions are market price and range from $12-14 it seems. I got their chocolate chip cookie (with flaky salt from Syracuse Salt company) for $3.25, and it was delicious!! Thick cookie with crisp edges and a soft, fluffy center. Huge chocolate chips too! The flaky salt brings a nice balance as well. Will definitely be back!

This little bakery is very cute and offers a selection of different breads as well as sweets. The service is excellent and welcoming. These people know how to do bread WELL. I have tried their italian bread, focaccia, and their braided sesame bread-- which are all phenomenal! They have some sandwiches on their menu as well as some coffee available. On this occasion we ordered: - Braided sesame bread: this is my absolute favorite bread here. The presentation is beautiful, and the bread reminds me of a more savory challah with some salted olive oil hints that remind me of focaccia. The softness of the bread and the density make it so satisfying. It is perfect with both sweet and savory pairings. Super addictive--a loaf usually does not last longer than a day in our household. - Turkey sandwiches: we got a whole sandwich split into two halves. Size is pretty generous and one half is definitely enough for one person. This sandwich, although simple, stands out for its high quality ingredients. It came with generous sliced turkey that was not too salty, delicious gouda cheese, high quality mayo, fresh tomatoes and lettuce. The white bread is made in-house and feels super fresh and fluffy. They were super nice and gave us two bags of chips to compliment our dinner even though we technically ordered only one sandwich. We got it split into two separate containers and my fiancé and I each got our own pickle! Perfect option to get to-go. - Peanut butter cookie: I initially wanted to try the chocolate chip but they sadly ran out. However this was actually an amazing cookie. The thickness was perfect, not too thick and not too thin. It had nice bits of peanut butter and the cookie itself was super buttery, soft but with a nice caramelized crust, and not too sweet. There was a surprise Reeses PB cup in there which was very pleasant. Very good cookie! Cannot wait to come back and try their chocolate chip one. Overall, this bakery is a 10/10 and a very great asset to the area. Even though their selection is limited, I think they really focus on doing the few things they do VERY well. I love how local and homey this business feels. Their baked goods are all amazing and I will continue supporting them whenever I am in Manlius. Highly recommend Salt City Bread! You will not regret it.
