I have been seeing Dr Carlberg since may, yesterday I decided to leave. This woman is manipulative, one sided and does not listen at all. I went in and told her I didn't think my meds were working and she turned it around on me saying that if I don't reduce stress I will get admitted. The next morning I have the worst panic attack of my life and end up in the ER. I went back into her the next day and explained it to her and she put everything on everyone and everything around me. She did not offer any solutions just made me feel worthless and stupid. After talking it over with my Therapist I have been seeing since November of 2018 I decided it was time to leave. The first few appointments were okay but after that I left feeling worse than I did going in. I would not recommend anyone going to her. I use to be resident at harmony house, she abruptly stopped my psych meds when i left and when i would go in for scheduled appts her very unprofessional staff would tell me she was not there and i had to come back. This women should not be a Dr but a pshych patient herself i require a shot for stability. i had to go the ER to get the shot because of her many excuses. She in my personal opinion is a narcissistic pycho who should not be practising medicine. read more

This woman wants patients to view her as bright, intelligent, and knowledgeable. Her need for power and control far exceeds her knowledge and understanding of psychiatric medication (likely because she is not really a psychiatrist and does not have the education and experience of a psychiatrist). During the time I was her patient she had absolutely no respect for my knowledge of my own body and refused to allow me to participate in decisions about my own mental healthcare. An atrocious bedside manner and an enormous ego! Contentious and enjoys confrontation so she can assert power over her patient. I am concerned about how many people have been traumatized by this doctor's immense need to demean her patients? She is one of those in the "helping" profession who should NOT be. As so many reviewers on the internet have pointed out, Nicole Leigh Carlberg truly needs psychiatric help. Something is definitely not right with her mind. Look elsewhere. read more

I partially blame Nicole Carlberg for my children being removed from my care. I called her while in a manic episode and told her I thought I was being poisoned, and instead of trying to calm me down, she told me to go straight to the ER and that she would meet me there and help me. I took my children right away without thinking because she had literally yelled on the phone, "If you think you have been poisoned then go to the ER!" Well, almost instantly, CPS removed my kids from me. Also, Dr Carlberg didn't meet me there as she said. I have won back partial custody, but it's never been the same. I fell into a deep depression after seeing her and getting my kids taken away. I also asked her to please put in a good word for me with the judge, and she refused. That alone could have helped me get my kids back. Another thing that bothered me was that she questioned me about doing drugs all the time and asked me if I was abusing my prescriptions. I wasn't even on a benzo or anything. Lastly, she diagnosed me wrong, as Schizo-affective and recommended I took this horrible injectable drug that ruined me for quite a while. Turns out I don't have what she said and she should not have given me Invega Sustenna for something I didn't have. I could say more, but I hope she reads this someday and then diagnoses herself as the Narcissist she is. read more

It's been about 7 years since I've seen Dr. Carlberg and paid off an $800 debt with her for 2 visits. Apparently she decided to send me another bill 7 years later for that same $800 even though I had paid it off. During those 2 visits, she prescribed me 5 different antidepressants within a 2 month span and told me to try one for a week and if it doesn't work then to try another one-and so on. I had horrible withdrawals, nausea, and hot flashes. The last medication she told me "don't google it, it'll scare you" and I stopped trusting her after that... I was a teenager. I didn't know better. All I know is she didn't even come close to fixing my condition, she's still sending me bills for $800, and she prescribed medication like it was nothing. I really enjoyed seeing Dr. Carlberg. She was helpful and I connected with her. I did think it was strange that I'd come in for my appointment, and she wasn't there, but she was was never more than 10 minutes late which is how long you'd wait for a doctor in a doctor office anyways. Dr. Carlberg ran late from other appointments sometimes, but she ran over with my appointment once because I was talking so long and I really appreciated her not cutting me off just because "my appointment time was up". So I understood when she was running late with other patients. When I scheduled my appointment I just added an extra 45 minutes to the time and I was never late to anything on my schedule. You just have to prepare for that extra time, which is why I only give 4 stars. Dr Carlberg was very opinionated, but that worked perfect for me and my personality. Plus she was funny and helped me through a lot! I was lucky to find her and have her as my psychiatrist. read more

I'm writing this to complain about the current psychiatrist you guys have hired, Nicole Carlberg. She currently works for Northern Valley Indian Health in Woodland, CA so stay away! My mom and I have been on the same medicine for years and after having been admitted to the psychiatric hospital I had to be seen by her and I had asked her if she could adjust my medicine or give me a more frequent medicine because I was having full blown manic episodes from my bipolar. She proceeded to start an argument with me regarding my medicine and that "I'm sorry if you don't like my answer". She then accused my mom and doing something with her medicine when she had asked for a refill and now we're both falling into our depression. She needs to be evaluated and talked to seriously about her treatment towards patients because this isn't the first encounter she's had. She has multiple bad reviews on google from other patients stating she starts arguments when she wants to do things her way. My mom and I have been patients for years and have worked tremendously with previous psychiatrist UNTIL her. She's a joke and needs to be fired because she caused both my mom and I an extreme amount of pain and now we both have to seek treatment elsewhere where they take mental health seriously. Bipolar diagnosis is serious and high suicide results in the lack of medicine that you've been on for YEARS. She needs her license taken away and sadly facilities support their doctors more than the patient needs so I don't have high hopes for this feedback I'm giving you. read more

Dr. Carlberg is unprofessional in several ways. Every appointment that I had scheduled with her, she wasn't even at her building yet. I had to sit and wait for her to get in, settle all of her personal things and start her day. As if my time was not important. Once I was called back to her office, she talked about her kid being a problem and about her dog passing away. These subjects had nothing to do with my appointment time that I was paying for. I moved sever hundred miles away and had informed Dr. Carlberg before I left. I had to wait for my insurance to start with my new company and to make a new patient appointment. I was scheduled out a couple months. I informed Dr. Carlberg of this and gave her the doctors name and phone number. I ran out of a prescription that I'd been taking for years. One that can not be instantly stopped or it will cause severe withdrawals. Dr. Carlberg did not give me the time to call or have her secretary call to let me know that she did not intend on refilling my prescription. I had to keep calling my pharmacy and asking. When I finally reached her secretary on the phone, after leaving several messages, she told me that I had to make an appointment before I could bet a one month refill until I could see my new doctor. I informed her secretary again that I had moved several hundred miles away and her secretary stated that Dr. Carlberg did know this information and still was not going to refill my prescription. Due to the withdrawals referenced above, I have had blurred vision, dizziness, paranoia, severe shaking and nausea. What kind of Psychiatric physician would put her own patients, knowing their mental state, through this kind of suffering. Keep this in mind before scheduling an appointment for yourself or a loved one with her. read more
